    Lechon or inasal in Cebu is eaten plain with rice or dipped in the lechon's own drippings or with a mixture of coconut vinegar, soy sauce, chilli or lemoncito in a little dish. Barrio or town fiestas is not complete without a whole inasal or lechon being roasted and feasted on by the guests mostly with bare hands. With its increasing popularity among local foodies, lechon in Cebu is now being mainstreamed into restaurants or fastfood franchises.
    This is the best eating vblog ever you made. Have a safe trip to Malaysia you two cuties and continue to vblogging that you enjoy and love doing for your viewers. Salamat for visiting Cebu and the neighboring islands. Cebu is a strategically located for inter-island and air connectivity both going up north or down south of the Philippines.

    Traditional lechon in the Philippines were eaten dipped in pork liver sauce to enhance the flavor. That sauce was so popular that it was bottled and sold separately. It's known as Mang Tomas Sarsa ng Lechon. There is actually a neighborhood in Manila called La Loma that has several restaurants selling lechon and other pork dishes such as dinuguan, bopis, paksiw na lechon, chicharon bituka and bulaklak. They have been around for decades. The difference with Cebu lechon though is that the Cebu or even the Iloilo version is already flavored hence no need for the liver sauce. They instead dip it in mixed vinegar soy sauce. A popular mixture in the Visayas.

    The Traditional Cebu Inasal is not just an ordinary lechon. it is an Experience 😍 It's a Cebuano culinary custom cooking a whole pig stuffed with fragrant lemon grass & a mixture of herbs, spices, & seasonings on its belly then gradually roasting it over a pit of live coal to perfection. Once you take a bite on that crispy skin & the tender juicy sumptuous meat then that's what you'll call an Elevating Experience 😃😃 No need to dip it in any sauce as it's already succulent yet in case if you really want to, then you can have a spiced vinegar & a crushed garlic a sprinkled with a little salt for a dip. Don't forget your bottle of beer too 😉 . Now i'm craving for Cebu Lechon 😄😄...Safe Travels & Cheers 🍻

    • @NurseTalking
      @NurseTalking 5 лет назад +1

      Lemon grass is locally known as tanglad or tangad that is very aromatic when cooked much more so when mixed with the inasals own drippings. You stuff the pig's belly with lemon grass along with green onions and garlic and salt. Im not sure if its stalks is digestable compared to the green onion or scallions when cooked. But it enhanced the aroma and flavor of the pig inasal or lechon.

    Anthony Bourdain said the same thing, it's the best pork he ever had. :-) Lechon as a noun is suckling pig by default. But as a verb, it could mean roasted or cooked. So you have lechon manok, lechon kawali. The same with adobo, sisig, etc. It's more about the cooking process per se.

      Visa extension for the third time is more expensive. They made the right choice to go to Malaysia (or any other country) after their 2nd PH visa extension then come back to the Philippines for another 30 days. And about the Lechon sauce or "Lechon sarsa," very often do I see vlogs trying this out with the Lechon so I would definitely recommend this as well.

It will be at their advantage if they will learn that in the Philippines, they can find and have multitude of options, and not the ones that are only brought to them on their table. So sad to have such bad insights about someone's suggestions so that they could have so much options.

    Guys the ID card that the immigration officer was pertaining to is an Alien Residence Card. That's for foreigners staying in the country for more than 60 days. The card entitles you to stay for a year and you can renew that yearly if you're planning to stay for a very long time ( that's staying here permanently ). Mostly expats avail of that card. Since you're digital nomads you're right about not getting the card. You're always welcome here to come back. 😊

    If you're in the Philippines during Holy Week, please plan ahead. It's a major holiday and a very busy travel period. Also, it's election season, don't be alarmed if you see and/or hear election related violence in the news. It's normal and nothing to be concerned about unless you're involved in politics.
    As for places to visit when you come back, try the Bicol region. The region is known for its spicy and creamy cuisine (food cooked in chili and coconut milk). I think it's whale shark season in Donsol. There's Mayon Volcano, a perfectly cone shaped (see back of ₱100 bill) and most active volcano in the country. Enjoy the beaches and rock formations of Caramoan, location of the reality show Survivor. There's mountain trekking on Mt. Isarog. It's a region less traveled by foreign tourists.
