  • one of the joys of living remote is the fact you spend a lot of time with everyday things in life. this morning was spent boiling water and cutting tooth pick trees for fire wood. like being married, once my house chores were completed after lunch, i could work on the Adams Road Grader known as Gomez. it was an afternoon of organizing and putting away parts. then searching and finding the hydraulic parts needed to make the control tower live with power to work the blade and other functions. the staff showed up to help with taking the log trailer back to the bush but on the north east trail. thansk

    Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ It was great learning how you're going to set up the hydraulics, very interesting stuff. That must have been a stressful moment in your life, being accused of bringing down a helicopter. That's what's wrong with the world today nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions. Great video as always guys 👍✌️🇺🇲

    It may be advantageous to have a coupler between the hydraulic motor and grader control to allow for shock and alignment. Check with Sir Rodney. We trust him. Take care.

    Fish tubs ? Is that what those are? I had no idea that fish even took baths ! Lol....
    Okay, when do we get to see one used for its intended purpose? Hint: time to go fishing, maybe?
    If you have any spare fish tubs, maybe ship one down to Sir Rodney and his gang of fishing banditos. Maybe it will bring them some better luck catching fish in the ice fishing season. LMAO !! Sorry, Rod. Not laughing AT you, laughing with you :)

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  Месяц назад +2

      Johnny G would be the best one to show fish tubs since he hauls a whole 53 foot fan trailer full of them. Sir Rodney being south of here acquires the famous plastic milk crates for they handy carrying thing. thansk

    Enjoying this conversion from mechanical drive over to hydraulic power. But, but, what will become of the knuckle-buster console? Have you got spools (or whatever those things are called) to put in place?

    Been thinking of your hydraulic setup and didn't want to comment until I'd got around to watching this video (watched some of the later ones that gave the other details). I would definitely be putting that CharLynn Flow control in ahead of the big motor. Send the CF (controlled flow) output to the steering (where the little hydraulic pump output used to go) and the EF (Excess Flow) to the Orbit motor. P is pressure input from the pump. R is return to the tank which is plugged unless you want to put a pressure relief valve in there. The flow control looks kind of like the F1217 model (just based on internet search for pictures, not personal knowledge) which is good for 45GPM. I suspect you'll only need to have the control cracked to get enough flow to the steering system (There is an OFF in the casting that the red plate mostly obscures).

      The picture top left on page 10 is basically what you want, with the Orbit motor where they show the "Directional Valves Open Center"

      @@kingofobsolete4789 I must be doing something wrong with comments (or anything that looks like a URL causes issues). I sent you an email, hopefully that works (and this comment goes through).

    • @AndrewMoizer
      @AndrewMoizer Месяц назад

      For others (on this learning channel), try a search for "F1217 vickers manual", it should have an Alfa Hydraulics Page, search down for the link below where "F1217" is listed and it should download the part of the manual that has a bit of information about the flow control valve.

    This might be my very own thought, but the more I hear about Whoville, and lodge owners in general, the more it seems that you are surrounded by no-goodniks up there.
    And that's a real shame, not good at all for tourism, lol.

    • @kingofobsolete4789
      @kingofobsolete4789  Месяц назад +2

      yes that is true that is why less and less tourists each year. then add in the gov cut back on fixing and grading the so called road it just destroys the south vehicles when they come up. thansk
