It's 1979. I'm 7 years old, sitting in front of the television enjoying STARBLAZERS on any given weeknight. While I'm sitting there, sometimes my mother brings me a cup of tea and a saucer with four chocolate chip cookies for teatime, and I can see her watching me from the kitchen, smililing. 17 years later, Dec. 22, 1996. I watch her die quickly and suddenly from a heart attack on the way to hospital at 1am, Sunday morning. The Christmas before was the last one my father and I ever celebrate. For me, Christmas ended forever on December 25, 1995. Hearing this song reduced me to tears as I remember her. I don't think I ever got over her passing, don't think I ever will. At this writing, it's been almost 27 years since she left us. All I can do when I hear this song in any form is to cry like a baby and remember her.
To Leiji Matsumoto, Yoshinobu nishizaki, and Amy Howard Wilson. Thank you! Without any of you I would not be an anime fan matsumoto Sensei your ideals and characters mecha love for history and millitary things, would not have made me who I am today! Nishizaki you were an eccentric man but your love for ships and sci fi still are in me. And Amy Howard Wilson thank you for being the voice of my childhood I’ve watched star blazers at four years old and have gone on to read and watch many of me matsumoto and nishizaki anime and stories. You have inspired me and made me who I am R.I.P to all of you, Where the ring of time touches in the vast sea of stars we will meet again!
This song makes me remember the valiant Captain of the Yamato, he was a brave man and fought to get to Iskandar to save humanity even while hiding his radiation poisoning which was killing him
The end of this story emotionally killed me. Yamato's final journey began when everyone's life ended, with the last crew member seated at the helm of the ship, holding onto the body of his dearly beloved who has just passed away. In their final moments they witnessed the souls of their fellow crew members inside the ship, accompanying them to their last journey through the timeless stars, spreading into the infinity of the universe and the afterlife.
A very beautiful piece of music, both the melody and the voice...I remember this being a powerful piece when watching Star Blazers as a kid in the 1980's. Still is a hauntingly brilliant piece of music.
I just finished watching Yamato 2199 and I must admit, I cried a little during the last ep. Yuki coming back tore me up. Thought it was great incorporating Mamoru Kodai in the Cosmo Reverser. Will miss these characters. It was great getting to know all of them.
Dennis B They did a great job with this new adaptation. I haven't watched all of it, but I plan to. Thanks again for posting the episodes. They did a wonderful job of adding more depth to the Gamilas. I felt bad for Shulz, especially in the episode in which the Yamato blasted its way through an immense solar flare, and his last thoughts before dying were of his family.
Its the best feeling ever When I listen to this song and look at the stars. Just the thought of how far away they are from us. How many other galaxies there are in the universe. Could there be other life? Just looking up to the stars and thinking about all this, and of course something that goes with the song, is the universe infinite? We dont know. So many things about the universe that cant be answered. And this song just fills my mind with questions. I've lost a lot of modivation to work hard in school, and my mind just hasnt really done much but Yamato...the music, everything. Its actually gotten me interested in space and science. Its probably the first time I've been so interested in something actually important or useful in my life. But yeah, pro tip: listen to this song while star gazing
I do just that and when I look up to the stars and listen to this music I can see the Yamato (Argo) sailing across the starscape. What I would give to journey across the universe!!!!🚀🚀🚀🚀🪐🪐🪐🪐
I watch star blazers with my dad, every time this song comes in I think of how beautiful it is, we sing along, not very good but we sing high opera lol. This is so beautiful and I think that the nostalgia coming back to other people, I'm only 13 and the way ik about this is cause of my dad, I love it.
Some time somewhere out there in the far reaches of space and in the distant future someone will play this music as that person cruises through and beyond the vast cosmos.
The reaches of the vast universe compared to the limits of our inner humanity and hampered spirits. This music tries to bridge that gap, and like the best sci-fi, allows us to perceive the glories and the possibilities if we just let it.
I Cannot Bare To See What Has Become Of Earth. Once Green And Growing With Blue Lakes And Silver Streams, Great Rivers And Mighty Seas, Now All Gone! Only Day And Burning Desert Left, Radiation Everywhere!
Diva song is one thing, this is another. Grateful as a Japanese for so many positive comments on the performance. (In one of the beautiful posters, in lower left reads "big offer ¥ 980" makes me chuckle!)
In my mind this song echoes sometimes with the "ecstasy of Gold" of Morricone. Anyway a very transporting and oneiric ode to the endless and unlimited space.
Man, what a find. Always loved this since the early Starblazers....Had found out some time ago that the performer is named kazuko kawashima. Here's an link that's a favorite: Kazuko Kawashima - The Earth 【HD】ruclips.net/video/m3Mn-r-uh18/видео.html. Another find: Space Battleship Yamato]【南林弥宏指揮】「宇宙戦艦ヤマト」ruclips.net/video/SQigMeZkM8g/видео.html
Imagen yourself in the middle of a battle and you and you fellow soldiers hear this inside a cave nearby and you stop shooting and so does the enemy as everyone walks to the cave and then when you reach the cave you said an illusion set by a creature and then it eats you wile you try to grab your M4A1
Is this song originally intended that's Starsha's 'howl' ? And is this the FIRST picture of Starsha as Leiji Matsumoto draw? she looked alot like Sexaroid Yuki Seven (Also his creation for his manga).
Is that woman in picture Starsha as Leiji Matsumoto created her? And did this song made per Leiji Matsumoto's specifications? since this will add Shojo feel to SBY (Leiji was also did Shojo manga before. the last of the Shojo genre was Torajima no Miime, dedicated to his pet cat, Miikun)

condolences, I hope you're doing way better.
Rest in Peace Leiji Matsumoto.

I hope Matsumoto-san heard this as he passed, knowing his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all

Okita Captain
I can’t explain how the soundtrack to this amazing series touches my heart
I feel the same way.

RIP Amy Howard Wilson (Nova)
I’ll look up at the stars and think of you
Beautiful piece of music. It's on a CD on my alarm clock and this is the music I wake up to every morning.
It's a great one to wake up to, at that!
Sweet but sad...
I'm back. I wake up to the Andromeda theme because of a headcanon joke that Hijikata is the type to BLAST it.
A very beautiful piece of music, both the melody and the voice...I remember this being a powerful piece when watching Star Blazers as a kid in the 1980's. Still is a hauntingly brilliant piece of music.
Bealty universe
Star Blazers has a special place in my heart.
Good old Yamato. Great music for a great series.

Thank you! :)
I will probably get the soundtrack CDs also. Great music.

This, plus the narrator telling us how many days are left for Earth, have stuck with me for over 40 years.
No words to talk a masterpiece in sci-fi animes and movies.
To our Nova. RIP, Amy Howard Wilson. Godspeed.

Truly a MASTERPIECE!!!! This musical piece of heaven stirs many emotions within my soul rendering me speechless & full of joy & tears.
This Show was my world when I saw it as a kid. Still ignites my imagination still.
May Matsumoto-san rest in peace

You really can’t beat the Starblazers / Yamato soundtrack - it elevated the entire show.
Yamato, inmortal melody !!!
So beautiful and resonating. I've been a fan of this song for many years. I will love it forever

Rest in peace
This wonderful piece of music has a pensive, haunting beauty to it.
Sooooo beautiful
This is the soundtrack that I would want on my death bed and funeral. Thank you for this marvellous upload Taiguara.
I'm getting flashbacks to "The Great Gig in the Sky"
The reaches of the vast universe compared to the limits of our inner humanity and hampered spirits. This music tries to bridge that gap, and like the best sci-fi, allows us to perceive the glories and the possibilities if we just let it.

Godspeed, Captain Avatar.
Amazing. (poesia pura)

There're only 198 days left!
Absolutely beautiful music. Where could I find those images at a decent resolution?
Imagen yourself in the middle of a battle and you and you fellow soldiers hear this inside a cave nearby and you stop shooting and so does the enemy as everyone walks to the cave and then when you reach the cave you said an illusion set by a creature and then it eats you wile you try to grab your M4A1
Dá vontade de chorar...
Mais bela composição musical para um Anime dos anos oitenta!
Upon my death, I'd like for my remains to be expelled into space. I want this song to signal my passing.
Is this song originally intended that's Starsha's 'howl' ?
And is this the FIRST picture of Starsha as Leiji Matsumoto draw? she looked alot like Sexaroid Yuki Seven (Also his creation for his manga).
Powerfully beautiful. I prefer this version over 2199.
So this music is a signature of entire Leijiverse. not just Yamato.
Valeu, irmão. Super difícil achar esse tema.
ESTO ES MUSICA ...
crying now be me
Is that woman in picture Starsha as Leiji Matsumoto created her?
And did this song made per Leiji Matsumoto's specifications? since this will add Shojo feel to SBY (Leiji was also did Shojo manga before. the last of the Shojo genre was Torajima no Miime, dedicated to his pet cat, Miikun)
imagine the real battleship yamato has been bombarded by american planes till explode and sunk slowly 😭😭😭

Resumiu com perfeição meu sentimento...A música é sensacional e o anime maravilhoso
