Best Falcon paintjob I have seen on RUclips so far. The guys that built those crazy expensive ones should have taken notes on your work. Inspired me to give one a go. You are an outstanding artist.
Jon, you have creative talent my friend, and fortunately for the rest of us, you have a gift in your ability to present your videos in a way that holds the viewers’ attention.
Man this video series was more exciting than some movies I've watched. I would be like "nope! He's messed it up" then 2 minutes later would be like "damn it looks amazing".
I just painted my Millenium Falcon and I exclusively used acrylic base colours from Vallejo thinned with windex. And used Acrylic artist paint for weathering also thinned and applied with windex. The results are amazing.
Jon I think you did an awesome job painting the Falcon. I would love to maybe see you do a star trek model also. I love putting together models and was thinking of starting to paint them but it seems to be a daunting task.
You may or may not see this but I actually have the same Falcon I bought this model like 7 or 8 years ago and I’m just opened the box. Just wanted to mention I liked what you did on yours loved the lighting.
It's really not bad for what it is, you have to pay a lot of money for a better kit this size. Are you going to have a go at painting it? If so then I hope you enjoy it as much as I did
@@ScaleModelMedic oh absolutely I'm not sure about a lite kit yet but I may even do that after seeing yours. But I have air brush so I'm going to give it a shot.
As usual when you model something it looks so "easy" to do! Instead yours it's pure art and requires years of work! You have been able to feather acrylics so easily! Instead it's quite tricky for me. And I never saw adding shades using oils so easily! I want to try! I hope that oils dry faster then usual when used to thin. Awesome work. It's very sad to see that lack of details on the back...it's the only obvious "issue" of that kit!
I’m a traditional painter, and painting acrylics over oils is a disaster on a canvas, are the acrylics you used over oils different than normal acrylics? Someone asked me to paint their 3D model, I’ve got a lot to learn.
Danae Goliath hi, I guess it's the fact that the application is so scaled down that allows it to work. The oil is very thinly applied and so is the acrylic, plus the oil is allowed to cure. Also being s weathering finish and not intended to be clean and smooth you can get away with quite bit.
Excellent work! Is it me or does it seem a shade too dark? like it might could use a few more areas of highlights or lighter panels? The wash feels a bit heavy on the top, front half. To me, it looks like the falcon that takes off from Tattooine. I feel like the New Hope falcon was dirtier looking than the Empire and ROTJ falcon, but I'm no expert just watched the movies a 1000 times. Your narration is really helpful, thank you for these great instructional videos- they're so helpful for someone like me starting out. I majored in painting so it's great to see someone else using paint and brush the way you are.
Your precision and control are excellent, You have mastered these techniques, However, I feel that your falcon turned out too "Dark" due to the fact that you used said' techniques over every nook and cranny of the model.
Nice job sir! At the time of this comment the vid is 7 years old, but as a newb breaking into the hobby this was enormously useful.

You have given me some excellent ideas for weathering my Deagostini Millennium Falcon once I have enough assembled to start painting.
Outstanding work!!! What a difference all your time and effort has made....thanks for sharing...
It's great man....again...I've learned a lot from this series. Thanks for showing all theses techniques!

Really beautiful. My own unfinished Falcon sat on the shelf for far too long. This gave me the boost i needed to start working on it again, thank you!
I don't think I would have the patience to do that. Looks fantastic to me.
glad to see you posting again, I like your videos.
Incredible attention to detail! I love it!
I think it turned out awesome! ... this series was the reason I got one of these myself! Fingers crossed it'll look half this good :D :D
This is awesome! I have a Revell falcon that I really want to do this on!
Absolutely amazing. You have an incredible talent.

I've still got a the Galactica from BSG to finish and ill be sure to use your Falcon as a reverence, i really like the weathering.

When will part 5 be up?
Paul@ISM Live At the bench lol waiting on instructions from this 109 series I've been following...
Ooooo, THROWING SHADE
banter!
looks like the megatron tank same colour too
There's some capital error in your model. The streaking on the underside goes into the wrong direction. :D
