@@prometheustv6558 Yeah I remember back in 2003 being surprised they were not British. They got recognised in the UK first too and did their first headline tour there. I guess the influences are from British pop bands of the eighties (along with The Cars from the US), plus, Brandon Flowers sounds less American than some UK singers!
Takes me back to uni during freshman year. Every Friday night the DJ would end on this song. It would never get old, the crowd on the dancefloor would lose their shit and you'd have strangers all singing (screaming) the words to one another. That's what this song reminds me of. Good Times.
Been watching Marty for almost a decade. It's crazy how he keeps pumping them out. I don't even need the lessons anymore, I just come to brush up on tunes before gigs
sometimes i put on this song to cry. my ex absolutely loved this song and always sang it with me when i played guitar. now i cant play this song without tearing up anymore. the power of music is crazy man. I always cry when playing it live with my band haha
Right? It's an amazing song and it's awesome how music has an impact on us and affect us psychologically. I find it beautiful how you perceive this song. I wish you well in your life onward
My ex sent me this song before we were even in love. That was an AMV and this song really impacted me, it really put me down for a while, and it was like it helped me discover my own weaknesses, that I was in a very bad position.
😂😂 I know what you mean! I used to be so annoyed especially with E flat but tuned to Drop C instead and I was like, ffs man gimme a break. But now i actually prefer different tunings bc it makes things a little more interesting
I found a separate tutorial which uses a capo on 4th. I've never been one for capos, but it makes this song sooo much easier to play, and you don't have to tune down. As you've already obviously watched this vid, I am sure Marty won't mind me suggesting you check out Danny Eddy's vid on this song. Its up there for an alternative that I for one (being a lefty playing a RH guitar), found a lot easier to get my head around. Still struggling on the hybrid picking though.
Thanks dude, this tune still gets called on gigs often and the problem is a lot of singers call it down a half in C rather than up to concert D (and then shoot me a look like "why doesn't the intro sound perfect"). I don't know why, but you just inspired a solution of tuning the high E down to D and letting that baby ring out like it's supposed to!
I’ve been playing guitar for 25+ years mostly as a rhythm guitarist and songwriter and Marty is hands down the best guitar teacher on RUclips! If I want to learn anything complicated he breaks it down so easily.
Mate. You published this at just the right time. Thank you. I am working through this slowly but you have made what seemed impossible seem like I could middle through it. Thank you!
Since my first year I played the guitar, I have been watching your awesome video’s. You learned me soooo much, so I just wanna say thank u, your amazing. Now I make covers myself and I don’t need your tutorials anymore, but I still watch them because I love how well you can teach. When friends of my ask me to teach them a song I just say they have to take a look at your channel. So keep it up and pleas never stop!
So my cheat is tuning up the G string to A to make the intro more comfortable and easier to play and adjust the way I play the other chords. The audience couldn't tell the difference they were too busy singing and dancing along.
This riff will not only annoy my family even more now, but it will inspire at least one singalong loudly at some point too, long overdue tutorial search...thanks Marty! Great instruction.
Every time I think of a song I wanna play, you literally make a video that week or the day after 😄 your literally the go to when I wanna learn a song 🤘🏻
I'm impressed Marty. You are putting out some serious content. I still won't stop until you make a lesson for Jimi Hendrix Mannish Boy! Keep up the good work!
They knew this was a hit waiting for the right time when it was written. A true garage band that made magic. 2 videos were made and the rest is history. Brandon and Vanucci are still in the original band. The bass player I think is with Pumpkins. Good Mormon boys from Vegas. I bought my Polaris ranger from Vanuccis brother in Apache Junction AZ. They still fill stadiums.
Marty you are a superstar, thanks for showing us that. I feel it’s much easier to achieve the string picking by dropping the pick all together, and just finger picking like an acoustic, just pointing out, in cases others struggled like I did
marty its thanks to you that i have been playing guitar for nearly 2 years now. i’m playing in a small festival in a months time and its all thanks to your channel helping he pick up the guitar.
thanks for the lesson marty, your positive vibe puts a smile on everyones face.... no matter how much i tune my guitar for this song, my g string sounds out of tune for the intro. Any reasons? its a epiphone sg
tip for those needing to get to half step down if your new or don’t know how, place capo on first thret tune guitar to standard take capo off and your in half step down
These chords are are torturous! But I find it the easiest when you hold the guitar in the classical position (resting between your legs, rather than on only one leg).
note: if you're a lefty using a right handed guitar with the strings inverted your hand will not slide down far enough on the fretboard, not impossible to do but its going to be much harder than it normally should keep that in mind as you practice.
Thanks for teaching me guitar when nobody else could Marty!!!! Hope your channel grows within the years!!!! Rock on brotha🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾 (PS can you do a video on Fox on the run by Sweet very much appreciated!!!)

Tone your guitar to -11 it’s a half step down pretty easy that way

Who else agrees that The Killers are one of the most underrated bands of all time? They have soooo many great songs!!
Hitchin A' Ride bruh they aren’t underrated they’re pretty well known
@Thelonius Mitchell yea on this song and I might say this cus Im fron Montreal. ppl know mr b and somebody told me. thats all
nah bruh fuck this band why they gotta make this song so hard 😭
Agreed
they are not underrated is just that they had their time around the 2000's, they kinda didn't come back to the mainstream

IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR MARTY TO DO A TUTORIAL OF THIS SONG
Some of these songs are played exactly as they are heard, making them really simple.
But like most dont know the tab or the chord cause if we do it would have been so easy
