MUMMY DIY Halloween Costume & Makeup Tutorial

- Happy month of Halloween, zombaes! We're kicking off this year's Halloween videos with an easy but gross DIY makeup tutorial on the classic mummy - extra rotten, extra decaying, extra creepy. But even better than creepy, this look is is inexpensive, and can be made super simple for first-time special fx -ers - just takes a few basic makeup products and things found at your local drugstore. So sit back, UNWIND, and enjoy...

Products you'll need:
Liquid Latex
Tissue paper (Optional: toliet paper, regular tissues, cotton balls, lentils, dry cereal, ground coffee all for different textures)
Cosmetic paints (choose any: cream paints, grease paints, water activated paints, alcohol activated paints [mine is the Skin Illustrator Zombie Palette], eyeshadows, etc.)
Disposable sponges & a couple basic brushes for painting
Bandages/Gauze
(More options: FX contacts [mine are from camoeyes.com], tooth enamel in black or brown, Petroleum Jelly if getting near brows or hairline)
If you have a latex allergy/sensitivity you can use FX gelatin or 3rd degree instead! It won't look exactly the same, but all three products are capable of making a really creepy skin texture to hide under your bandages!

You could TOTALLY do this! Looks like it might be a lil complicated but is really quite simple, I promise! I wanted to make sure a lot of the Halloween looks I do this year are very accessible for seasonal FX dabblers. :) You got this!

I don't think I've ever been so stoked for Octobers as I have since becoming a Zombae. Getting excited for autumn is great and all, but Mykie's channel is really why October matters.

Question: does it make a difference if you apply the latex on a bare face vs a face covered in makeup? I just noticed that you dont take off your makeup before applying. I'm planning on recreating a look of yours this halloween and I'm a noob at latex:-)
For the sake of shooting, sometimes I just jump right into it if I already had makeup on from earlier in the day. In doing so, I've found latex stays the same as long as you're wearing powder over your foundation, though if I were doing this makeup to really wear for a few hours I'd start with a clean face. Other products like gelatin and 3rd degree would have a hard time sticking over foundation. I take these looks off immediately after shooting so it's not too big of a factor for me. PS. I wanna know which look you'll be doing!

I'm going to be attempting the speak no evil zombie mouth look. It's been a favorite of mine for a while but like i said i've never worked with liquid latex at all haha so i'm planning on buying some this weekend online and practicing as much as i can before halloween comes:-))
OooOoh nice choice! Make sure you patch test the liquid latex on your wrist and leave it there for several hours, making sure to pay close attention to any irritation before using it anywhere else. But I hope you have fun recreating the look! It's a fun one to wear!

When you do Speak No Evil I highly recommend going to somewhere like taco bell with it on. It was highly amusing (I also scared half of my dorm building by just walking to my car). 10/10 do recommend

I started giggling in the intro because of that stray piece of green glitter on your eyelid at about 5 seconds in. Did you notice it when you were editing? We shall never be free of them, it's incurable, I'm very sorry.

CRAZY FLIPPIN AWESOME!!!!!!! My Da went as a Mummy for Halloween back in the 80's one year ... my Mum made his costume out of old bed sheets. And since he was pretty skinny to begin with ... he looked majorly rad! Yours however, is so much CREEPIER!!!!! I LOVE IT!

There's lots and lots of tutorials on my channel that don't use latex! You can also substitute FX gelatin or 3rd degree in place of latex to achieve a very similar look for this mummy if you wanted to do that!
