      Bill does okay most of the time. This was not one of his great nights. He didn't call out Rivera. His defense of Ingraham was absolute bullsh!t: SHE is in the arena and "fair game." His support for moving the embassy to Jerusalem was flippant and poorly reasoned.

    I’m sick of this talking point of “liberals and Democrats never say anything nice about Trump,” or they’ll “never give him credit for any of the good stuff that he does.”
    He has to earn that praise. He must do good things first in order for us to give him credit.
    The problem with that demonizing view of liberals and Democrats is that it fails to recognize that was is “good” or “praise-worthy” are often very subjective distinctions.
    For example, I do not support Trump’s decision to declare Jerusalem the capital of Israel. I think that was a bad move on his part for a myriad of reasons. Yet Trump and Maher think it was a good one; should I give Trump credit for making a decision I disagree with? No. That’s asinine.
    You want me to just say nice things about Trump or praise him for what he does? No. My standards are higher than that, and so should everyone else’s.
    It also doesn’t help that he tries to take credit for every good thing that happens, whether it’s his credit to take or not, and yet when something bad happens it’s always someone else’s fault... usually Clinton, Obama, or the Democrats, but never him. Never. Never ever.
    ...At least not in his mind.

    • @geneholio
      @geneholio 6 лет назад +3

      He's an ignorant, crude, vindictive pig.
      The only way he'll ever earn my praise is if he gets on tv and grovels and begs for forgiveness for all the cruelty he has directed at others.

      Is it odd that the only two things he agreed with Trump on have the best chances of leading to WW3? The only two things I ever agreed with him on are firing his entire cabinet and not replacing them with even shittier people.

    • @alexc773
      @alexc773 6 лет назад +1

      +LordKhabal I agree. I'm not going to say nice things about Trump just for the sake of saying nice things. That's not how that works. He needs to _earn_ praise. I am not just going to give it to him. He needs to stop acting like a baby.
      Also, I find it absolutely stunning that someone from Fox has the audacity to complain about the negative press Trump gets. Excuse me? For 8 years, Fox ran nothing but negative coverage on Obama, and plenty of it was simply manufactured out of thin air. He wore a tan suit; he saluted with a coffee cup in his hand; he had some Marines hold an umbrella over him and a foreign dignitary. Wtf.
      Furthermore, Trump does things on a daily basis that deserve rebuke. If a news organization just reports the bare facts of what Trump does, it comes across as negative press because most of what he does is just so stupid. He acts like a clown every goddamn day, there's just no way around that fact. Even Ann Coulter, who wrote a book praising Trump during the election, has arrived at the conclusion that Trump is too moronic even for her.
      At least one person from Fox, Juan Williams, has had the decency to apologize for all of the stupidity that the right-wing media had engaged in during the Obama presidency. thehill.com/opinion/juan-williams/325859-juan-williams-if-obama-had-acted-like-trump

    • @SpiralBreeze
      @SpiralBreeze 6 лет назад +2

      But that's the point, you're productive. There are other people who aren't. An "autistic" child who is drooling, banging their head on the table and screaming all day shouldn't be in a regular classroom just so his parents feel he won't be left out. A child like that needs to be in a special program because they will never be neurotypical and can't function in neurotypical society. I've been on both sides as a student in a classroom with kids like that and a teacher's assistant with kids like that. It's not fair to either side. The disabled child doesn't get the real support they need and the other children can't get things done because they're constantly walking on eggshells.

    I know that no one will pay attention to this, but I'll write it anyway. Before the end of WWI, France and Great Britain (expecting to win) formed a secret agreement to carve up the land controlled by the Ottoman Empire after it was defeated (which it was). Both countries arbitrarily divided up this section of the world. When it came to forming Iraq, they were told that peace between the Sunnis and the Shites, who occupied these territories, would never happen, but they ignored all this and formed the country anyway. (And, did the same with other countries in that region).
    That agreement between France and Great Britain, called the Sykes-Picot Agreement, was the beginning of what we call the lack of "peace in the Middle East". All problems in the Middle East stem from this which is western Europe sticking their nose into what is not their business and without them paying any attention to any facts about the people of the Middle East.
    And, it's continued since then with the US as the "lead". Despite all the "intelligence" available, the US listens to none of it. Yet, WE are the ones who continue to cause the lack of peace in the Middle East. (We INVADED Iraq based on completely faked evidence because we wanted their OIL. And, yet, we wonder why the people of the Middle East hate us? Why they fear us?_/
    People in the US need to stop thinking that criticising our government is somehow wrong. We have made incredibly horrible mistakes that have cost thousands, millions of lives. This whole "My country, right or wrong" mentality is outrageous. We need to DEMAND that our country behave with decency instead of keep making excuses for its behavior. But, we won't. We've been brainwashed to believe "We're the GREATEST and we can do no wrong". And, we now rank about 56 out of about 193 countries in this world in terms of having an "educated" populous which is exactly what so many of our politicians want. A nation of ignorant people who can do nothing but parrot what they hear the loudest, most obnoxious, most "humanity-hating" politicians and media (hello, fox news!) want.

      arx754... spot on in details, and the image that formed in my mind as I absorbed the details in your commentary is that of the 1% doing everything possible to multiply their bankrolls by manipulating people and borders. Everyone thinks about the 1% as "local" to their country, but these folks use world markets to manage their bankrolls. They play "good country/bad country" while the 99% pawns remain broke & poor... and in some cases, without their country of origin if the game being played revolves around their borders. In many cases, people are being flushed from their country of birth seeking refuge, that is no coincidence.

      Pivoting is nothing new to politics though, but America sure rubs off on Europe the wrong way. We've tried hard to get rid of the Hitler-isms, but hate will always find a way to show itself. With America leading the way and lowering the bar.

You can't say you support Trump's policies, but not his tweets. That's not a luxury a Trump supporter is entitled to. All the hate, all the venom, all the crazed nonsense of his tweets is who he is. It's what he believes. Anything rational he might occasionally or accidentally say or do does not mitigate the reality of the early morning tweet storms. This is now what the GOP

    Obama did not make the decision to withdraw from Iraq. The Bush administration could not get Iraq to agree to the SOFA for supporting our troops there so we HAD to leave. Obama's administration could not renegotiate it in time to maintain a presence there.

      Yes, and both the U.S. and Iraq negotiated and agreed to the removal process in 2008. The Status of Forces Agreement committed the U.S. to the complete removal of U.S. forces by the end of 2011. So the whole thing was set in motion before Obama even took office, and the only options Obama had were (1) renegotiate the SOFA (he tried and failed, the Iraqis wanted the U.S. out), (2) comply with the agreed upon terms, or (3) violate the agreement, which essentially would commit the U.S. to an indefinite occupation of Iraq, and would make any further negotiations pretty impossible, since they would know we could just break our promises whenever we felt like it.

    • @30stmFantasy
      @30stmFantasy 6 лет назад

      Thank you alexc773. Mr Boot just gave us a great example of how historians and most news reporters can divide us by leaving out pertinent information. And as for breaking promises, I think Trump has done the damage.

    Still get a kick out those that always think: America knows best, (like father knows best). The arrogance is genuinely stunning, but the lack of self awareness is mind boggling. It never seems to dawn on these educated fools, that no matter how much they "study" a culture, they don't know WTF they are doing. Yet I still keep hearing "well, we just didn't interfere in the RIGHT way." That's the lesson unlearned from Vietnam. And millions continue to suffer and die for it.

    (7:41) "...China was gaming the system." But, there are so many people that say free-markets ARE a game to play. If the system is a game, you can't blame someone for "gaming the system" and winning at it. Which is it? Is it a game or not? You can't play, if it's not a game . And, you can't win if you don't play. Who sets the rules in a free-market anyway? Come on, either roll the dice or change the "game".

Second, all I've ever needed is a RIDE and for people not to assume that I'm "mentally retarded", which has been difficult to get all my life.

    There is no rules saying the banks can't loan to people who have enough secured income (key word "secure", nothing is secure today) to pay off their loan at a fixed rate, variable rates were for people that could cover the risk, not pushed on college graduate first time buyers or poor people, as it was when "America was Great" before Bush. Bank regulation is fine that way Obama left it.

    I am suggesting a challenge to all Americans to;1) Let's pick a date in the near future e.g. June 11, 2018, and choose to not turn on all forms of technology that provides what they call "news". 2) Let us proclaim to the social news media that we are not willing to listen to their "news" on Donald. 3) Let us proclaim to all elected politicians that we are thirsting to hear their opposition to Donald and his style of governing. 4) Let us proclaim to one another, that we can seek, and find, common ground. 5) Let us proclaim our intellectual, behavioral goal of unifying as a country. A country that was established within a written code of amendments designed to serve "We The People".

    Note to Max Boots: Trump making fun of Oprah and Alec Baldwin is so bad? It seems inconsequential. He is no longer a TV star and then they were equals. Trump having a good relationship with Putin is weird? They are both world leaders. Don't we want peace amongst enemies? Now, suddenly, getting out of Syria is a bad thing? Its what the American people want and for once, someone is hearing their wishes and acting.
