    🌱 Recipe:
    1 cup dried pasta any type you like (chickpea, brown rice, whole wheat, etc.) and any shape you like bowtie, rigatoni, spirals, etc.
    2-3 TBL aquafaba (or another liquid such as veggie broth, pickle brine, etc. I think even water would work here!)
    2-3 TBL nutritional yeast (or any other seasoning combo you like!) If using something other than nutritional yeast, you may not need as much as 3 TBL. Start with a few tsp. and add if needed.
    🔺 Cook the pasta for 1-2 minutes less than package directions. This will give you an al-dente texture. Drain and let cool. Add liquid & seasonings and stir to combine. See below for either air fryer or oven directions!
    🔺 I used marinara as a dip, but any dip would work here! Vegan ranch, pesto, vegan buffalo dip, even hummus! Enjoy. 😊
    ✨ For Air Fryer Directions!
    Most recipes I saw said to use the airfryer between 375F to 400F for 5-10 mins. Therefore, it seems like if you use a lower heat (such as 375F) start with 5 mins, but expect that they could take up to 10. If you use a higher heat setting (such as 400F), expect them to cook much more quickly. Check them at 3 mins, then again at 5, shaking the basket in between.
    ✨ Oven Directions!
    My oven runs very hot, so I used 375F (plus I used my convection fan to circulate the heat, much like an Air Fryer would). If you don't have a convection setting, or your oven runs a bit cooler, use 400F. On either heat setting, check them after 10 minutes. Mine took 15 minutes in total, but they can go from crispy to burnt very quickly! So just make sure you watch them closely in the last 5 mins.

    In my quest to stay off social media I don't have tik tok... kind of glad now so I don't have to make this recipe 😂 I love your experiments, they are always so cool. Thanks for sharing 💞 I'll stick to crispy chickpeas for a snack. Although, I did by a snack box for the kids for school from the happy snack company... Dark chocolate covered chickpeas. Super moorish. Vegan friendly. I could've eaten the whole box 😜 have you ever coated chickpeas in chocolate?

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад +1

      😂😂😂 Hahaha, yes some of these things I've seen coming from TikTok are pretty strange! Even Q didn't want to eat this one! LOL. Crispy chickpeas are one of my faves as well. 🤗🤗 I have not tried the dark chocolate covered ones! I've seen a few recipes floating around for them, and thought I should give it a try one of these days. Good to know they were delish! I will have to give them a try. 🤩

      @@LetsEatPlants I'd love it if you would consider doing a video sometime 🙏 I've been experimenting still with different hummus recipes after being addicted to your oil free hummus. I made a roasted beet hummus yesterday. So good. I read somewhere that taking the skins off the chickpeas makes a creamier hummus. Soooo good. Took me an age to skin two cups 😂😂😂 I'm sure there must be an easier way!

      @@samantharose2759 Yes! I will add it to the list! 🤩🤩 Oh wow, I’ve always wondered if taking off this skin makes a noticeable difference or not! I don’t know if I have the patience to do it… but maybe if I was making some for a party or something … 😝😝

    Though I crave that crunch, I tried them and wasn't terribly impressed either. I was thinking of marinating the cooked pasta with the spices and liquid for a while first before baking to let the flavors soak in? Thanks for trying all the different options! My fave go-to when I want something crunchy and relatively healthy (and dry, as opposed to celery, carrot, etc) is papadam, (super thin Indian lentil wafers that come spiced already ... or plain). They're meant to be deep fried but I just nuke a couple for a minute or so and they puff great! (I tried them in the air fryer and they got crispy but didn't get as puffy. Maybe I should try preheating the fryer first.? Next time.) Anyway, there are also these cool shapes in Indian markets called "fryums" or "far-far", made out of tapioca starch or wheat flour, that puff really well in the microwave too! Different kinds of dry rice noodles or dry rice pasta often work too, some better than others, but the problem is also getting seasonings to stick once puffed. Like I do with nuked popcorn... I just spritz them with a little bit of tamari, pickle juice, or whatever, in a little cosmetic spray bottle before adding seasoning. There's also a cool latino version of fryums called duritos (NOT Doritos) that look like orange wheels and a few other shapes, but they are pure flour and are usually colored orange... hmmmm? They do puff nicely though, I had to try! lol I love ethnic stores... the poor person's visit to foreign lands... my imitation vacation! lol

    • @LetsEatPlants
      @LetsEatPlants  2 года назад +1

      I’m glad it wasn’t just me then! 😂😂 Great idea to marinate first! I think that would definitely improve the taste part. 😄
      Omg I *love* papadam! I always used to get them and microwave them as well… haven’t had them in years! (Other than at Indian restaurants when I go.) I need to go on a hunt now. 😅 I haven’t heard of fryums or far-far, but I am so intrigued! I’m going to have to take a look through some of the markets we have nearby.
      Omg the “duritos not Doritos” made me LOL. Haven’t heard of those either! Wow so many exiting new snacks to try. We are lucky we have a lot of ethnic stores in Toronto, but I usually just go to the Chinese market near us. Need to venture out! Thanks for the inspo, Char! 💕💕
