  • Welcome back to Pwnery Tinkers - a few-and-far-between playlist when I can afford the time to record some of my "other interests that may be of interest to you." That's a line I generally say in every video - but now you can actually SEE the other kind of videos I do that aren't games or gun related :)
Today I'm going to explain how to fix your 11th gen T-bird so it doesn't turn into a Carolina Stanced tail-dragger. The problem with this level of negative camber on a car that's 20 years old is, you wear out the inboard surfaces of the tires at an alarming rate and that gets quite expensive changing tires every 4-6 months. This video is a little shorter than the last tinker's video regarding A/C repairs since I did a lot of the basics of setting up the car prior to filming.
If you'd like to tackle this job yourself and use similar tools or parts, check the links below for what I used.
MOOG Factory Ride Rear springs : www.amazon.com...
    1/4 and 3/8" impact grade socket set : www.amazon.com...
    Gear Wrench 82 Tooth ratchet set (1/2, 3/8, and 1/4" drive) : www.amazon.com...
Strut Spring Compressor (with locking tab) : www.amazon.com...
Makita 18v High Torque 1/2" drive impact tool (big, heavy, ultra-high torque) : www.amazon.com...
    1/2" drive impact socket set : www.amazon.com...
Rear strut assembly set (pair) : www.amazon.com...
I was quoted well north of $1,500 dollars for this repair, and I believe I have at most, 1/3rd that in parts and tools (tools are infinitely re-usable). Get tools, don't be afraid to use them!
So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Smash the old like button and subscribe buttons if you're new here, and feel free to browse my other videos if you think that subject matter would be of interest to you. Welcome to my channel, and this video, and thank you for watching!

Love your review of difficulty--how many Samuel's on your videos. That really helps me know whether I will do it or bring it to the shop. Looks like I will have the shop do the lower control arm.

That job would be ... what I'd probably call medium difficulty - mostly because of the tools needed. I have to be honest, I still need an alignment but since this car stays in storage most of the year, I'm holding off til I do the front ones in an upcoming video as soon as the weather cools down a bit. I can't honestly remember how I came up with the Samuel L's system, but when it happened, it felt right. I think it had to do with the number of scrapes, cuts, and MF's I'd shout. :D
