      Absolutely! Meng kits never disappoint with the attention to detail. It’s always amazing to see how much precision they put into their models!

    Marvelous. Having the patience of a saint helps you a lot sir. For the first effort on tanks you show that getting on and doing it is much better than getting bogged down like me. Inspirational once again sir. Thank you.

      You‘re welcome :) Glad you like it. But actually I never touched a tank again since recently (tiger I is in the making). I mean, they are quite nice to build, compared to aircraft you can smash everything together and paint it, not so much sub-assemblies necessary. But after all, aircraft stay my favorite (like yours?). But I’ve to say tanks are great for dioramas. So I’ll building one from time to time. Likewise with ships, I really like ocean dioramas (like my very first video here on RUclips). I bought the USS Theodore Roosevelt in 1/700, combining my passion for aircrafts and ships. Anyway, you should give tanks a try. It’s a fun exercise between aircraft builds.

      Thanks mate :) I did some research on the original leopard and it looks like the color doesn’t chip at all (or they repaint it really fast). Some rust here and there, that’s it.

    The "RAM" panels are simply anti slip coatings so the crew doens't slip and they are basically colored the same as the camo scheme but they do look a bit darker because of the rough texture. ;)

    • @GeneralPelleScaleModels
      @GeneralPelleScaleModels  Год назад

      Oh that’s good to know. I remember seeing some of them really dark on some photos, but yeah, that’s the thing with photos. They just capture a moment and light plays a big role. So thanks for the insights, I’ll keep that in mind for my next modern tank build.

      @@GeneralPelleScaleModels Ja, hast du :-) Zwei Konstruktive Hinweise möchte ich dir geben. 1. Eine Panzerkette, deren Panzer im Gelände unterwegs ist, ist nicht rostig. Durch den Sand wird sie "blank" geschmiergelt. Steht der Panzer wieder im technischen Bereich, ist sie ruck zuck wieder vom Flugrost befallen. 2. Die "Antirutschflächen", welche du extra schwarz gemacht hast, sind in der Tarnfarbe wie der Rest des Panzers. Ich freue mich schon auf weitere Modelle von dir!

      @@witchhunter70 Besten Dank für die Hinweise. Ich muss zugeben, das war mein erster Panzer. Das mit den Ketten werde ich auf jedenfall beherzigen. Punkt 2 lässt sich leider nicht mehr ändern, keine Ahnung was mich da geritten hat. Aber immerhin ansonsten gut getroffen.

    How did you get the commander sights green and shiny? I'm building an abrams, and I've been trying to figure out how to make the sights look more realistic by getting the greenish-purple reflection on them. Fantastic model, and it looks so realistic!!

    • @GeneralPelleScaleModels
      @GeneralPelleScaleModels  Год назад +1

      Thank you, glad you like it :). I did it that way: cut the clear part, measure the part out which should be shiny. Mask and install it. The spraying the model, finish weathering and everything. Remove the mask and apply a self adhesive holographic film in the desired shine. They are sold by hasegawa or sx-art and can be cut in shape with a sharp hobby knife. I also saw other RUclipsrs painting things like that, but that’s indeed more difficult to get right and honestly the effect from the holographic film is really great (shiny, different colors depending on the angle the light falls in, like the real thing more or less).

      Thanks mate and thanks for asking. I’m currently working on the post apocalyptic diorama (around 75% finished, but it’s huge), a J-15 (10% finished), a type xxi submarine with interior (5% finished) and a small vignette for the leopard tank shown here (not started). So it’s either one of the dioramas or the J-15 because I like to work more on airplanes. Either way, all are far from finish and I plan to release one more video this year.

    Hallo GeneralPelle, ich bin seit heute auch Abonnent, ich finde den LEO 2 A 7 sehr gut 👍 👍 👍. Ich habe fast alle LEOs auch die A1ser Serie. Sind die Ketten schwer zu basteln? Der A7 fehlt mir noch in meiner Sammlung. Ich baue auch Dioramas, auch mit LEDs. Auch dein Diorama zum A7 echt klasse 👍 👍 👍. Vielen dank für dein Tipp mit der Gipsmulbinde, ich baue zur Zeit die Panzerhaubitze 2000 im Maßstab 1.35 mit einer Wüsten Landschaft. Und wie immer Daumen hoch 👍 👍 👍 .Es grüßt dich dein neuer Abonnent Markus aus Hagen Deutschland. Aus welchem Land kommst du GeneralPelle? Würde mich sehr freuen auf Antwort 👍 👍 👍. Und freue mich schon sehr auf das nächste Video von dir. 😊

      Hi Markus, das freut mich aber, willkommen an Board. Vielen Dank für die Komplimente. Oh, da hast du aber eine schöne Kollektion an Panzern. Der A7 ist bisher mein Einziger, daher kann ich nicht aus einem allzu grossen Erfahrungsschatz schöpfen. Auch an das Thema LEDs habe ich mich erst zaghaft genährt. Die Ketten waren eigentlich recht einfach, weil meng ein entsprechendes Tool beilegt. Ein paar sind allerdings kaputt gegangen, leider auch nach dem bemalen, aber es liegt genug Ersatz bei. Die panzerhaubitze klingt spannend…. War die den jemals in der Wüste im Einsatz oder ist das eher ein what if diorama? Viel Spass beim bauen. Mein nächster Video lässt noch auf sich warten, aber ich baue aktuell ein Tiger I (mit diorama), ein paar Bilder dazu findest du hier im Community tab oder auf Instagram. Ich komme aus Deutschland, und bin ganz in der Nähe geboren (Unna). Aber mittlerweile lebe ich in der Schweiz. Dementsprechend schöne Grüsse in die Heimat.

    Did this Ammo MIG NATO Green have a touch of yellow in it, because the shade is darker on my model?

    • @GeneralPelleScaleModels
      @GeneralPelleScaleModels  11 месяцев назад +1

      I didn’t mix it with a yellow. But, and that part is maybe not in the video, I did some post shading by mixing the green with some white and then applied in thin layered spots. Keep also in mind that I record stuff with a lot of video lighting, that makes stuff brighter than it appears under normal light conditions. Hope this helps :)

    To this day, I do not understand the purpose of photo-etched pieces. Just like this kit, they're painted over and it's necessity isn't needed.

    • @GeneralPelleScaleModels
      @GeneralPelleScaleModels  Год назад +2

      If you look back at modeling history, they come from a time where the plastic wasn’t that detailed. PE parts can show details where plastic can’t, even until today with all the fancy new molding techniques. When plastic becomes to small, it’s hard to show much detail or it can even become to fragile. Thats where PE comes into play. To enchanting details. This is pretty evident when you take a look at ship builds with 1/350 or 1/700 scale. At that scale, the filigrane towers and mast are greatly enhanced in detail when using PE parts, because with plastic alone a lot of details are to small to cast. On the other side, it’s still a modelers choice. I also don’t use extra PE on all my builds, for example my latest F-16 build has only a few PE parts for the engine. I’m this particular Meng leopard build they even included some PE parts as part of the kit itself (instead of plastic).
