Very very good overview, close to what I do, my differences: - Rotate the board so the gyro/rx chips aren't on the axis that take the most abuse - karate whoop preset - T7000 on the UFL - Triangle in the back (it has a flat surface, having that perpendicular to your direction of travel is bad aero) - Webleed 0702 26500kv v2 motors - Foxeer Pico Razer camera (RIP) (Also would be nice if a company like 533 used their relationship with foxeer to do a follow up to this camera) Thanks for doing this, a lot of people come to me asking about the rationale behind the parts I use on my whoop and it's covered here perfectly
I really appreciate this video, I'm a heavy duty whoop Builder but I'm always looking to learn more, and it just so happens I have all of these parts on hand. Thanks Charles!! 🙏😁
just to clear some things up about wiring, yes, the betafpv board only has 1 5v pad but not only 1 ground pad, there's 4 places to solder a ground wire, the gnd pad, the battery negative pad and either of the usb port pins that go thru the board
Definitely a shot in the right direction! I think the frame is actually more durable when it is cut because it flexes. Camera is no good, the fov is bad and the pinch is better but understandable. The camera mount also adds unnecessary weight, I didn’t look at the weight but I’m guessing you could use something else and save .4-.45 and it would still be durable. If you also rotated the fc it takes like 30 seconds to do and helps with durability as well as the pigtail. Other than that it’s a super solid build
Sweet! Would love to see what tips you have for cutting the frame properly, and I definitely need to try and pinch, I don’t mind the CO3 so far but maybe I just don’t know what I’m missing haha.
@@headsupfpvit’s the TinyWhoop Pinch cam for the win in my opinion 🎉😊 whoops are soooo much better in the last 18 months …. TinyWhoops 32000kv 0702 on bi blades 😃👌🤟🤪✅
I have heard of you guys, but my first time seeing a video of this nature. Dude, I would soo buy that build, i can solder, but you soldering it ALL!! Thanks for the video!
Great work you two!!! I can attest that Charles knows what he's doing, saw him crush at the tiny whoop race last night and inspired me to try and get my own Tiny Whoop builds to this level :D
This drone could go brrrrrrr, only suggestion is use the tiny whoop pinch cam, also see if you can do some frame mods to cut down the weight. One last thing I used to put the fc the way you guys did but then I realized flipping it ought saved a half gram in wires. It makes the vtx wires be able to be extremely short and only adds a little weight to the camera wires.
I can build and I prefer building over mass produced whoops. But these custom tailored and built whoops are nice! I gotta have one and the Fatshark analog goggles asap.
Dang just got mine this thing is amazing! On rails I thought I was in angle mode 😮 maybe just include a quick spec sheet so we don’t have to go to the video to see what parts are on the whoop.
Evan perhaps Mondo can come up with a carbon base plate similar to the fractal. These combined with trimmed ducts is an excellent build that really performs. This could be an opportunity for a new product I prefer the carbon base builds myself and I know a lot of others do as well.
Hi everybody. My other channel is Kriss fly. I tested some of the very first tiny whoops. I am about died from chemical spray drift from my neighbor GMO corn farmer. So I’ve been out of the game for about five years. Things have changed. Can’t wait to build one. If my old eyes can keep up with it :-) stop by both channels say hello. Realize the chemicals you are eating in your food. Over 30 countries have band it and climbing. We deserve better food go grow something worth eating.
Great video, I had a quick question. I know you guys were soldering to get the weight down, but all of the components in the description would plug into each other, right? So it would be possible to build this without soldering, it would just be heavier?
Im not a drone pro like you guys lol, but for a beginner build you should aim for around 20 grams with plugs on flight controller. Good choice of battery, but for a beginner build get everything with plugs. As you progress in skill you may want to try to make it lighter, but as starting just get a whoop in the air and practice. Also use analog for whoop, its lighter than hd. Just thought i'd share my opinion.
Awesome build video. Like the antenna mod. It would be a fun fulltime job building whoops all day. Would like to know if the esc and vtx is heavier than a HM diamond esc aio?
Hey, looking to get into the drone building space, and I am trying to find the best place to get started. I’m local to Seattle Washington and would love any advice for finding a makerspace or events to get my feet on the ground. Thanks!
Just finished this build, parts ordered with links in description, and my Betaflight Version doesn't match yours. Did you update to 4.4.3? Mine came with 4.3.0. I'm happy eitherway, but was just curious. The build came out under 18g and looks great. Thanks!
Maybe just different board batches in the same shipment, should be able to update and apply the tune super easy, let me know if you have any problems, but glad you like it!
Great video! Also i noticed you have some irritation on your face, I would recommend stop using a razor blade if you're shaving with one. Go to just a clipper/trimmer, and use that, will be better for your face.
lol, I love how there is a Heart from the owner on every comment but mine. im not trying to be mean, but reality is reality my dude. hope you have improvements :)
C03 is solid. 2nd best race cam behind the pinch but the C03 is a close 2nd. It’s the C02 that’s bad. The pico has a good image but at the cost of half a gram and that makes it not worth it on a racer
these videos will undoubtably be an invaluable resource for FPV not only now, but into the future as well. Extremely grateful these exist!
Amazing this is exactly what I was looking for, millions of videos but nothing step by step like this one 🎉🎉🎉🎉 THANKS

the baggie trick for motor direction, thanks for that!
probably easier to just put pieces of tape on the motors, and less risky

do u also get a very high core temp when this vtx is below, can go up to 70-80 degrees core temp in fc that ok ?
