I remember going to royal gorge in the late 60s early 70s I was 4 or 5 and it was beautiful to see it again and help me find my smile today thinking back on dad Who s been gone for 40 plus years now .
Steve. Thank you for the Good and Bad. I’m 68 and a life long dirt/street rider. I’m on a 2020 Goldwing. Speed on gravel is your friend. This means keep feet on bike and enough speed to keep you balance. Front end may not track where you want it but just go with it. Practice w/out trailer lol. I admit that type of large deep gravel is hard to deal with. Happy you and bike are ok. First Grade. WOW. Big step in life.
Glad you and your bike were ok ! That 🎻 🎶 💔plus the altitude 🏔 🌬 😳… Loved the train ride, but the icing on the cake was that adorable grandson and making it to him’s first day at school ❤️ safe travel my friend keep the shiney side up 🙏🏻
Yes that does suck. It’s good you had an engine guard attached, I put a engine guard on my Virago just in case I ever drop her. I’m amazed your right highway peg survived. I’m not a fan of gravel or cobblestone. That’s a nice bike you have there. 👍🏻
Good to see you made it out safe. Last year I was crossing a creek in Zion National Forrest and dumped my 1000lb H-D Ultra Limited in the middle of the water. Luckily there were people around because there was no way I would've been able to lift the bike on my own with all the moss underneath me and the motorcycle. It's all part of the experience I guess.
Fellow Texan following your adventures from New Braunfels. You’ve inspired me. I’m going to get a Lumina trailer as well, and begin doing some Motocamping soon.
Hi Steve, enjoyed your video and sharing both good and bad experiences. Was wondering if you’ve considered ever going with a sidecar, like a URAL that has 2 wheel drive? The reason I ask the question is to help me with the dilemma of me getting older ,not having the strength to pick up my Roadglide and still wanting to ride on the backroads and trails of America. Your input is appreciated!
A lot of guys I ride with in the Patriot Guard Riders have 3-wheelers. I've often thought when I get older I'll probably go that route. Gotta keep riding!
@@SteveOutdoors I thought about that,,, but I think that may limit me to mostly paved roads. Thanks for commenting, BTW,,I love your modified trailer! Peace brother!

I learned later they had gotten a car stuck in the rocks also. My back tire just buried up.
Walked across that bridge late 70's
So sorry that happened. Dang man. Glad there’s awesome peeps in the world to help.

Bummer, it's happen to me a couple of times. keep up the good work!
That was the first time I dropped that bike. Now I have a bigger more top heavy bike. Knock on wood, haven't dumped it yet.
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, we gotta be careful out there.
It use to be really interesting before the fire, you could drive over so you had to walk on the sides.
The bridge caught on fire? Interesting. There were a few vehicles driving over it but I think they were maintenance workers.
Sucks to dump em. Glad your ok. Bruised egos heal quick.

I had the same damage on my motorcycle when I dropped it in the gravel. Where are you going next?
I have one more video to upload from my trip. My Mom was hospitalized back home so I had to cut my trip short.
