- What does a restored world look like? The words of Isaiah 61 describe a new creation filled with abundance and ordered by right relationships. In this video, we reflect on the prophet's vision of a new Eden and how it reaffirms God's promises to the people who never lost hope.

Imagine you're sitting in the Nazareth synagogue when Y'shua reads this passage and proclaims, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”
That scene is in the Chosen series and people freaked out
Yeah in scripture they want to kill him, so...
Wow. God continues to use you guys, and He continues to give you new ideas to help us truly understand scripture. I have always needed/enjoyed the Biblical book overviews, but now the drilling down into specific scripture by Bible Project is even more helpful. We are thirsty for understanding. For such a time as this He is working through BP. Thank you for staying obedient to what God has called you guys to do!

wow. This is absolutely stunning. Glory to the Eternal King!
God be praised!
very moved to watch this just now. The passage means a great deal to me - given to me to read the last time I have read scripture in public - years ago now - in a historic church of significance in Scotland re John Knox, the Reformation. One of those spine tingling moments. But then also because some of it ... 'comfort those in mourning' ff was prayed over me by people who did not know me. Kept it to my heart but without understanding why I would be like an Oak of Righteousness. Great strong trees, majestic - not me at all! You have opened a window to my understanding here. My heart is lifting in praise - I continue to ponder. God bless and prosper your work. Thank you.
may we remember your promises Lord and how you keep them
Fantastic. I’ve always loved this chapter but I’ve not understood it as clearly as I do now. Thank you so much for the beautiful work and helping us see the Bible for the work of art that it is.
This was a great commentary on Isaiah 61, may God continue blessing this ministry.

This was fantastic! The Book of Isaiah and its literary genre/style has always been mysterious to me, but the breakdown and explanations in this video were so very helpful! Thank you, BibleProject!
A master piece, I love this breakdown it makes us understand scripture with clarity, May God bless this work you are doing
Thank you for breaking down such a beautiful vision of our future
What struck me was how perfectly this poem seems to be used by the gospel writers to construct the story and mission of “the Christ” figure of Jesus.
This is so so so powerful. Wow. 🙌🏻
Rejoice in His law, be perfect as He is; He loves us!
Today these promise is fulfilled.
I so love sharing these with my curious unsaved or wayward friends.
I’m so thankful for these men!
This is a beautiful analysis. Thank you for the video!
We love Bible Project and have, and continue to learn. so very much more of the Bible! The Classroom is amazing! As I go through the classes I finally understand scripture that was, for many years, a mystery, and is not an Open Secret! Take the Bible Project Classroom classes and learn what Open Secret means! Every class is an exciting adventure into the truth of God's Word!
I love the visuals it helps me learn the Bible better. I get so excited to watch these. You guys have done something great keep going and ket God continue to use you.🙏🏽❤
This is a beautiful and rich chapter that corresponds with the Day of the Lord, with New Jerusalem, the 144,000 (an indefinite number), and much more. "a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God...dressed in long white robes...the ones who have come out of the great tribulation. They have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb!...Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb!" (Rev. 7,14,21)
Awake and fill your lamps with oil and clothe yourself in your glorious garments, O Jerusalem, the holy city. (Matt 22,25; Isa. 52)
This was so awesome commentary of a major prophetic vision for all mankind. Thanks for illuminating these verses and giving life and meaning to the word of God. May God empower you to keep doing what ur doing brothers 🙏🏿👏🏾
Bible project team is prayed for. I very much enjoyed this commentary and the format. Thanks to each of you and God's richest blessings on the ministry.

I love you guys, I am thankful for you…I play your videos for my girls…however what makes this project special is the animation. Please more animation and less highlighted text.

That's LOVE

I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT RIGHTEOUSNESS means right relationship with GOD, ELOHIM. not only with JESUS BUT THE FATHER AND HOLY SPIRIT.
Everyone should go read Luke 4:14-21 after watching this video btw. It's so interesting where Jesus stopped reading that day in his home Nazarene synagogue. He stopped in the middle of verse 2. He did NOT read the line "[to proclaim] .. the day of vengeance of our God," There was no "cutting" a covenant (verse 8) during Jesus first visit, only part #1 "to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor". Part #2 will get spoken next time I'm guessing.
I Love this channel all glory to the Most higest!❤️🇮🇱🙏✝️🙌
This is awesome content, but plays in portrait even on my laptop? Makes it distracting and hard to read because it's small
❤ this
Amen !
Did I miss the part where you mentioned Jesus said "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing"? (Luke 4:21)
excellent stuff as always! but i feel like you guys are burying the lead for part 2 on Luke 4 when Jesus quotes this about himself. Show me that arc! in all seriousness, i'm very grateful for your free resources. thank you.
Which version of the Bible are you guys using? I could not find it. ☺
The New American Standard Bible (NASB) is the translation we primarily use in our resources. Occasionally, we cite translation work done by Tim and our team of biblical scholars, who consult Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek manuscripts. They also often take into consideration how other reliable biblical translation teams have chosen to interpret particular words or phrases.
@@bibleproject thank you so much for your reply.
This version of this verse sounds very different from the one in my bible...
Will there be study notes for this video?
❤❤❤
So much of it sounds like the renewal of Israel as a real nation in 1947. Is it possible that the start of Israel was the start of this prophecy, culminating in a completion series of events that we read of in other parts of Scripture?
Righteousness: it’s not right relationship between people, it’s right relationship between Lord and citizen of kingdom of heaven.
No, the Jubilee is not also called the day of vengeance in verse 2. He is proclaiming two separate things, 1.) the Jubilee _AND_ the 2.) Day of Vengeance. It's not one and the same. Otherwise, Jesus would have read both in Luke 4 but He left out the 2nd proclamation of " _the day of vengeance_ " because Jesus is both Mashiach Ben Joseph _AND_ Mashiach Ben David Who comes twice with two separate missions.
What version of the bible do you use?
❤
Do you guys ever need freelance motion graphics animators? I'd love to be a part of this in some way. Been following for years.
While this explanation may seem plausible, one should look again with a different perspective and ask for guidance from GOD in order that the true message of this passage might be revealed.
While I do love your work, what evidence do you have that this poem was written during the exile and not before by Isaiah himself?
The robe...? Is this something we will wear when we go before Jesus?
