I have lived in Alabama for nearly 10 years and no, I do not own a coat. I spent Christmas in South Carolina, and was shivering cold for a full week! Layers meant nothing... Then I came home to Alabama and 20 degree weather, a high electric bill, and two days ago, 5" snowfall. Like everyone else, I think snow is beautiful. But, what I didn't know about it is that it doesn't just go away when the sun comes out. Then there is ice to deal with, very carefully. The sun is shining on the snow in my yard, and it is so bright I may have to close the curtains - but I won't, because it makes the world so light and beautiful! Thankfully I am retired and do not have to do anything but watch wonderful quilting programs (yours), but next time I will be sure my pantry is better stocked! I enjoy your programs so much! 💚
I know I’m going to sound like a wimp and I totally own that! I grew up in Iowa so I’m no stranger to cold weather! I’ve lived in the Phoenix metro area for 36 years and I own more winter gear now than I did when I lived in Iowa! We do occasionally get freezing temperatures and sometimes even a bit below freezing. If the temp is in the 70s, I’m wearing jeans, hoodies, sweaters, a coat and gloves! Winter in the desert seems much colder than areas with higher humidity.
I grew up in south Florida. We broke out our coats when it was 70. And we would go down to the beach and watch the Canadians in their speedos jumping in the ocean. Thought they were crazy. I did see the snow , slight flurry, in 1976. Even tho the panhandle is probably used to cold snaps. Even in south Fla., we would get cold snaps of 20. And yes you could lose all your landscaping including the St. Augustine grass. Love you guys!!!!❤😊
Here in San Antonio, we just got a dusting but temps have gotten down into lower 20s, which is quite cold for us. I don't really own the kind of winter coat I used to have up in Washington. But our blood is so much thinner from the heat that we get cold from not as low temps. There are some winters where we may not even get down to freezing any time. And yes, the schools closed Tuesday, as much for the ice still on the roads as anything. We are not good at driving on questionable roads, but we also do not have winter tires. That was an issue when my son and I drove up to Washington in March 2 years ago. Weather and our regular tires kept us from going the straight route. We had to go to Ca and then up, but couldn't even go I-5 into Oregon because it was snowing near Medford/Grants Pass. Coastal route for us up to Portland.
Saskatchewan, Canada- two days ago it was -35 degrees Celsius when we woke up, -45 degrees with the wind chill! Nothing to do but sew! I’m not going anywhere when it is that cold!
It's in the low 30's here in Jacksonville FL- no snow but they got snow 30 minutes north of here, first time in nearly 20 years. We mostly have hoodies & sweaters, not really heavy winter coats. Our cold weather usually comes just a few days at a time, we are normally in 50's for our cold days. Maybe 1 or 2 overnight freezes per year!
So even in Atlanta, I only had a jacket. Now I’m in Florida and it’s 38° but it’s only sweatshirt weather to me. Native Floridians are bundled up - puff coats, mittens, hats and scarves. 😂
I’m in central FL. We had high 40’s today, but it was overcast with a wind chill in the low 30’s. We did not have snow, but northern FL did. I do have a winter coat because I go back north occasionally. I did wear my winter coat today.
It was 71° here in Orange County, California but it could be because our normal weather pattern is messed up with all the fires. Our newest fire went from one acre at 11 am to over 10 thousand acres by dinner time. Near Castiac lake, Lancaster and Magic mountain. We are supposed to have rain starting this weekend and all our burned hills will slide. Any extra prayers are appreciated. And as for the flower, I thought it was a spiderman backpack of Wyatt's and wondered why he never took it home, ha. You all make my day even after watching you from covid days. Nice to have fun friends. Thank you.
We got 4 inches of snow on the coast of NC. I am originally from Philadelphia brought all the snow paraphernalia with me just in case. I moved here 18 years ago. I do have a few winter coats, a parka and wool coats and winter boots. I will never get rid of them. You never know when you will need it.
I am in panhandle of Florida about 60 miles north of Panama City fl we go 8 + inches of snow still have on trees and ground suppose to be 14 tonight differently do not have clothes for this kind of weather don’t remember ever having this much before I am 67
I went to the Grand Ol Opry a few years ago and my favorite part was the sign language interpreters! I also saw a Mother Daughter duo sign a song one time and the mother said her daughter, who was VERY expressive in her signing, signs in cursive😊.
Everything is shut down. Schools stores and highways. No reason to have clothes for this weather unless you go skiing often and most of us don't. Coldest weather in my life !!! And also the most snow. Can't wait for next week, it's going to be 70 degrees. Bring on the heat please 😂☀️🏝️🏖️🌞 PS. We eat squirrels too😂
No wool socks. No coat. No carhardt. And I wear sandals 365 days. It’s been a hard freeze here 21* but 19* with wind chill. The ice doesn’t melt, the palm trees won’t survive. It’s sad. My water is frozen until 10-11 am… people don’t know what to do in the frozen. Makes me glad I’m from the freezing side of the PNW.
Here in Ohio, we are really cold. Well below freezing with wind chill it is -21 degrees. Schools have been closed for several days. Snow and ice have been around for several days. We are warming up to a high of 20 degrees for a couple of days and more snow showers. I think it got up to 17 degrees today put was not that warm when you go out with the wind chill. Quite windy. Frozen water meters in a lot of places.
Hi from Spring, TX. My snow was 2.3 inches and lasted till today in the shady areas. Snowmen are still here! We tend to layer up with sweatshirt and jacket.

This fabric has a French General vibe, Love it! I would like it sitting on my shelf to look at- so pretty.

I live in San Antonio too and we also got just a dusting of snow. But with the wind it was soooo cold. 🥶
We're in SE New Mexico. Woke up to -5 a few days ago. Thankfully we have sun and bright blue skies. When it reached 38, it felt warm. 😂
Love the "spiderman" box cover. Neat.

Lots of sleet and wind in North Florida. I wasn’t built for this. I’m ready for Florida sunshine.
It's cold here in Sun City West,AZ! Freezing, plants covered overnight!

Another good job ladies!
Anetican sign Language is great! The kids could learn it, even Little Miss. They have learning books for children. Just a thought.😊

Going to be 74 here tomorrow. Nope. Don’t own a coat or jacket. Have a couple of sweaters & a sweatshirt. I love Arizona!
