Does anyone know if Massive X is better than this? Or am I talking nonsense which I could well be as I'm new to all this.
Reaktor is the ULTIMATE music software for people who enjoy creativity and learning new stuff. Building a synth in reaktor is not for beginners, but as Reaktor also come with various premade synths that you can load up, it is somewhat beginner friendly. And once you have gotten familiar with the different normal functions of a synth (oscillator, envelope, filter, and modulation), you can begin experimenting with making your own synth. It is not as difficult/complicated as it may seem, but this depends a bit on what you want to make. Remembering MIDI mapping on a controller can be a huge obstacle for getting a good workflow on most software synths - but Reaktor makes it possible to use your favorite controller(s) as a template when you design a synth, which make sure you never forget the mappings. Also, by creating your own custom skin for your synth, it can create an "inspiring vibe" that makes it more fun to play 👍🏻
