This thing is what happens when a Scorpius and a Hurricane have a super sized baby. While I probably won't pledge for one, I wouldn't mind being a gunner in one.
The funniest thing is the Loaner is the Redeemer. I originally thought the Starlancer tac was the reason the Redeemer got nerfed but now I 100% know why it was.
Oh I think the perfect was definitely for both. Some of the balancing reasons made sense but what they changed were the reasons I bought the ship in the first place
NGL, awhile back I tried to fix the MSR, and wound up with a lander variant that became a different ship entirely with... Two large turrets on tracks that moved from the top to the bottom of each wing. Didn't share it with anyone, still have the design doc (such as it is) in a file on my phone. It wasn't as heavily armed as this but was about the same size, designed to bring a single tank and troops.
tbf it’s also double the crew count though 1 pilot 1 co pilot that probably controls the rear missile turrets too, 4 gunners 1-2 engineers + 1 fury pilot
I don't know why people are complaining. This and the redeemer are completely different. This ship is more of a warship in the vein of a hammerhead with only pilot controlled missiles. The Redeemer had a nice speed buff for the pilot to stay in the fight rather than just relying on the turrets.
The Paladin looks great, just amazing, but you really need a full crew of four for it to shine. I can't see adding it to my fleet because I'm almost always solo and ususally just with one other when I'm grouped up. I did grab the Chairman's Club paint... just in case.
right now it's just a jpeg.. and with cig's track record for changing shit up and going back on their word!... I'll wait for the the actual flyable ... I aint buying pics no more
I had to laugh when the vague information published initially suggested there might be no pilot guns, and predictably the crybabies on Spectrum lost their shit again. Zyloh cleared it up though.
Definitely not what I was thinking of, was thinking it was going to be gunship as in andromeda or redeemer but this is good to. I wonder how it’ll stack up vs the star lancer tac
In a 1 on 1 it'll destroy the tac easily but gives up the fury hangar, cargo bay, and medbed. It's literally just engines with turrets and a big shield.
Don't be dumb, the left gunner will use the top turret bottom left gun, and the right gunner will use the bottom guns, leaving the top guns to the gunner 😂😂😂
Like a Valkyrie with bigger weapons but no pilot manned weapons, no dropseats and no cargo bay....... no medbed, nothing really special, just that size 5 gun that moves trough the surface of the ship..... Now we see why they sodomized the Redeamer.... someone with a fully working redeamer (not the pile of shit they turned it into) would not buy this.
Man this ship looks awesome, it looks to be a main flyer for any small crew ship combat. Once this thing comes out lots of people are going to be seen flying it.
I hate they are trying to force the multicrew gameplay. Just give the pilot someweapons and let the turrets be optional IF you play with friends that day. How hard is it CIG.
exactly it does not make sence even with the modern technology of today pilots of aircraft have weapons. Sure its much more powerful with the rest of the crew but a pilot is almost never defenceless.
@@caseysimpson525 yep i just hope long term they hear us on other ships i am not asking for every weapon point just enough to join in and not feel like I am not just a bus driver watching everyone else kill lol
Its still trash. They do not know how to design multi crew ships. No one is going to multi crew a ship when it cuts the total guns down by half. Just run 2 conis with 4 s5 guns each. They still cant grasp this blatently obvious issues with multi crew ships. If it had 4x 5s on pilot with 4x 5s on a gunner than people would use it outside of just role playing
They have already said those will be nerfed. CIG's insisting to force multicrew on everyone is going to destroy the game. They need AI crew and blades functioning first.
Definitely not useless just because pilot seems to not have control over the guns. Probably will have bladed weapon control or maybe pilot can have control the way the worded the description didn’t rule out some pilot control. Heavy armored and guns can face in multiple directions for better coverage or focus due at one spot. Has better accommodations and space. Can shoot at the ground to clear the area.
Don't forget that maintenance will be a real thing down the line. 2 wardens might cost a lot of upkeep... who knows. That said of course MC ships need some serious buffs across the board.
Nice jpeg you got there lets give them another billion dollars. Smfh. You youtubers need to stop giving attention to unreleased ships entitely and focus mostly on gameplay and a touch on released ships. End the scam.
"Nice for ground assault" like dude two things. 1 you can just fly upside down it literally doesn't matter and nobody knows what ground assaullt would matter or if a cheap turret on ground meta play will pulverize it or not. "Damn i"m quite impressed"
Cool looking ship. Wonder if it's going to get the Redeemer treatment when CIG push the next new flavor of the month?
Yes, but that will only come once they have an even cooler ship that they’re preparing to release.

I was hoping for a Valkyrie loaner

When your Vanguard gets bullied and it's dad shows up.
I think the Starlancer TAC offers more gameplay options for the money.
+ 1 extra S3 shield gen, yeah I'll pass.

Step one: Have friends
Thanks for the first look at this ship.
It’s a nice looking ship. As many have pointed out, cig is very likely to nerf it after it comes out.
Paladin is pretty cool, not necessary for my fleet but it’s cool.
Is a nice military ship but probably was the reason for nerf the Redeemer ?
But for someone who already owns a Perseus and we know it will be able to be low man crewed do you need a Paladin also?
Probably not gonna pick it up, but it is a nice ship now that they've clarified that the S4's are pilot controlled if you only have 1 or 2 people.
I wonder if this a 4.0 branch release or a Post 1.0 release. I did grab one as my final purchase for SC for the year.
Bought a CCU will wait and see how it is at release.
Got me A Paladin Man she's a looker Want wait to put that this to work
The Paladin looks great, just amazing, but you really need a full crew of four for it to shine. I can't see adding it to my fleet because I'm almost always solo and ususally just with one other when I'm grouped up.
I did grab the Chairman's Club paint... just in case.
You finally spelled it correctly!!! Good job buddy.
That thing is a warden supermax, wait till the torp turret variant that im sure will be announced next year
that baby is CHONKY.. I like it!

What you get when you give steroids to a Valkyrie
I had to laugh when the vague information published initially suggested there might be no pilot guns, and predictably the crybabies on Spectrum lost their shit again. Zyloh cleared it up though.
These ships having no pilot controlled weapons is actually ridiculous
Read up on it again. You only need one gunner because the pilot can control the side turrets.
can't wait for the Pa-La-Din!
Anvil....forging....I am still laughing.
Wish it were actually the Anvil Phoenix, but I'll take this. :-)
Crazy paying these pixel ship prices they’re asking, only to rely on other people to use your guns for you.
Remember, they sell capital ships with zero pilot guns in bulk, so it's not that much of a reach. 😅
Love the silhouette. They could easily make a cargo variant with the back slot filled in remove some of the guns and give the pilot some weapons.
tbh it already looks like a heavily modified valkyrie chassis.
Maybe they can also make cargo variants for Perseus, Polaris, Hammerhead, etc.
@ oh for sure. That is what I like about. Just a little sleeker than the valk
@@nomad_specter funny enough I forgot to check measurements when I previously commented. It's actually a fair degree larger than a valkyrie.
Definitely not what I was thinking of, was thinking it was going to be gunship as in andromeda or redeemer but this is good to. I wonder how it’ll stack up vs the star lancer tac

was thinking about upgrading my Terrapin to a Starlancer Max, but this changes it.
no pilot guns and no cargo grid becareful
@@COMMANDERHAWK22 They already confirmed the x2 s4 are pilot controlled in a post.
Not going to sell a lot of these….
Paladont
This comes out after the Redeemer gets nerfed? Not surprised. lol
They nerfed the redeemer for this.
I see a problem with the power plants: 2xS2 compared to 2xS3 in the Redeemer...
Most of the components in a Redeemer are s3, the only s3 in a Paladin is the shield. Much different power requirements.
i can see it getting nerfed after a year and only having all size 4 guns later with weaker shields..
Looking at you memedeemer.
SC community is the only community that acts like it's the end when balance adjustments happen for an Alpha.
Don't be dumb, the left gunner will use the top turret bottom left gun, and the right gunner will use the bottom guns, leaving the top guns to the gunner 😂😂😂

It won't because it's a shit ship. No pilot guns makes it pointless...
No pilot controlled guns = junk.
That is why the Redeemer is still viable.
"When operating with a smaller crew, the pilot can take direct control of the wing turrets, ensuring no defensive position is left unmanned."
I love the Paladin
Ill have to say that its a no pledge for me good looking ship though ill get it in game. Not pledging money for any kind of gunship from cig anymore

Cross section on that isnt too bad, rofl.
interesting ship
looks really powerfull
Is this a sleeper missile boat?
It’s the Velk ver. 2?
Man this ship looks awesome, it looks to be a main flyer for any small crew ship combat. Once this thing comes out lots of people are going to be seen flying it.
Only Multi-Crew. 3 Gunner are needed. Not worth the money.
They've said they was a mistake already and changed the page to reflect it. Happened within an hour of launch.

What a terrible ship, not even a single pilot controlled weapon, there is no reason why the pilot cannot do anything in a ship of this size.
They.....fly... ffs. This is a n amazing combat ship . How thenhell can't younsee past the bs solo goggles.
Not every ship needs pilot weapons this is a co op ship pilot just needs to fly. Just beacuse they dont have weapons doesnt make it terrible 😂😂
Let’s see how many they sell? My guess is not many and CIG will be under funded for the year.
No ship bigger than a heavy fighter should have pilot controlled guns if you ask me....
The turrets are remote, remote turrets can be bladed.
No pilot controlled weapons on a ship this size has to be a joke, a constellation has 4xS5 pilot controlled weapons
They have already said those will be nerfed. CIG's insisting to force multicrew on everyone is going to destroy the game. They need AI crew and blades functioning first.
What is the anvil paladin? A joke.
I want to win the Atlas!!! Lol good luck everyone! love the videos!
Useless 😞 pilot don't have gun. 2 men = 4 gun 5 size = 2 gun size 5 for people. 2 wardens or lightning have more power then this...

With that logic the HH, Perseus, retaliator, Polaris, Idris, and javelin are also useless since they don’t have pilot controlled guns.
