the quality of the footage is _insane._ are you by chance giving tutorials on rendering??! ready to pay and almost not joking. and, damn, this vid is so neat, you know? the lyrics come together with the clips, parallels are stacked against each other beautifully! and your work on text!!! it looks delicate as hell. loved the multiple _‘i'm sorry’_ back to back. also loved all the moments where beatrice held ava cut together like that. so painful, so good. this edit nearly makes me want to give _‘warrior nun’_ another chance. i gave it a try a year ago and was appalled within the first few minutes by certain writing decisions. but then i do have a habit of binging editors' work regardless of fandom. really glad to be a subscriber. you never disappoint. every drop is a new sort _‘oh shi, you did it, huh.’_
which decisions appalled you so quickly? i've never heard anyone say something quite like that before. imo such great care was taken with these characters, far more than most i've ever seen. especially ava and beatrice.
@@dande-lions i can be quite harsh if the writing isn't to my taste. i remember i took issue with the way ava behaved at the beginning, saying unnecessary things in her unnecessary character narration. at first i praised the show for demonstrating that she couldn't walk without telling me she couldn't, just the amazement on the actress' face at using her legs again said everything i needed to know, and then ava broke into annoying Main Character Monologue. i didn't have the patience after that. could have been hasty on my part, no arguing it, but it eez what it eez. from the edits of these characters, though, i can tell there are good things this show can offer.
@migratory.114 internal monologs aren't for everyone, no doubt. i guess i enjoyed getting to hear her thoughts early on, her attitude. for a main character she is so flawed and in need of guidance and training and that was a wonderfully refreshing thing to see. where her struggles are far more than just the "big bad." it's her very kind, resilient, and loving heart despite it all that makes her a joy to me. fyi tho, they almost all but drop her narration in season 2, and even by the end of season 1 it's decreased significantly.
@@dande-lions it's not that the monologues aren't 'for me,' it's that there is a more sufficient, less aggravating way to utilise them. in my opinion, anyway. it's good to hear she seems to be appropriately flawed! that's the way it should be done. i don't doubt she's a great one, i just didn't have the patience to see her through. maybe someday, who knows?
