  • Philips, a Dutch health technology company, will no longer be selling new breathing devices in the coming years as it works with the United States Food and Drug Administration to comply with new regulations set forth. These new requirements have been issued following the recall of millions of Philips breathing devices in 2021, which has been speculated to have killed over 650 people. Join me as I discuss which machines are affected and what you need to know. #lifewithavent #ventilator #cpap

    I've been using a dreamstation for quite awhile we had someone come and check on my machine and such since we have to change our company from where we've been getting my supplies well apparently the DreamStation had a recall lol I'm suppose to get a new one in a couple of weeks! I wonder what it'll be since Philips won't be around. apparently it's supposed to be a ventilator cpap machine!

    Dear, since Trilogy 100 is very comfortable machine and my father is using it since past 2 years, i would like to ask which brand would be better for switch. What parameters to check while switching to machine of another brand. Please share your insight

    • @LifewithaVent
      @LifewithaVent  Месяц назад +1

      I have no idea which brand would be better to switch to. I do not know which ventilators are available in your area. Furthermore, I do not know your father's ventilator needs. That would be a question to ask his medical provider or respiratory therapist. If he is not having any issues with the Trilogy 100, please feel free to continue using it. The Trilogy 100 is an excellent machine. I am currently use the Trilogy 100.

      @@LifewithaVent we are also planning to use the same, though in India servicing for trilogy 100 is only till 2025, I hope it would be extended. I hope to change the blower by next year so that we can use for next 3 years without any problem. Thank you for letting me know that you are still using Trilogy 100.

    Will they be going bankrupt?

    • @LifewithaVent
      @LifewithaVent  4 месяца назад

      No, they will not go bankrupt. Philips is about a 19 Billion U.S. Dollar company. This recall and associated costs will set them back about 500 million U.S. Dollars. So it will affect about 1/38th of their business worth.

    Sister,
    Tracheostomy tube in neck from 1 year,
    Now airway dry,whizzing sound,breath hard
    Can we use saline water or any respule to thin mucus

    • @LifewithaVent
      @LifewithaVent  Месяц назад

      You can put a small amount of saline into the tracheostomy tube to help suction out the mucus. You can also run 5 milliliters of saline through a nebulizer to re-hydrate the airway. You can also use a heated humidifier attached to the tracheostomy tube or cool mist trach collar to add moisture to the airway.
