He is very motivating to me. But to some he isn’t. I like his enthusiasm and his side kicks jokes his easy going and also his complete acceptance of students. Rare teacher
Marshall, you are incredible for sharing this with us. I do not know if those 3-4k views feel rewarding enough to you but know that within this numbers there are dozens of individuals like me getting so much out of this and feeling enormous amounts of gratitude. So on behalf of all of us, Thanks for being the person that you are.
Marshall you are a treasure a shining star among art communities that your light will eco for many years and travel to enlighten many! thank you for all of the amazing teaching you did all these years, I always enjoy watching your podcast and videos.
I have only discovered this series now and I'm hooked. It has made me eager to attend the perspective course that's due to begin in October. Marshall's style of teaching is so relaxed, jovial, witty and educational all at the same time I love it! He could describe a snail's crawl and it wouldn't be boring!
Marshall thanks it is not only instructional but also with good energy and entertainment that you share the knowledge of the teachings of George Bridgman thanks.
After watching Session - 1, I purchased the Bridgman books, went away for a year of discovery by drawing through them with a fountain pen…now I feel prepared to understand the concepts presented in Session 2.
I'm watching this a year later, hey buddy keep up the great work please,. From the QnA sounds like alot of young bucks makin trouble for the teacher. Who does not deserve one bit of the heckles. Hey God Bless ya'll and have a great day.
so very helpful to hear you remind me, it's for me. I am serving myself and doing what I want and being guided by you and others. no assignments....thank you thank you thank you. right time in my life to hear. too bad I didn't understand earlier. but that's ok too..
So glad you acknowledged that some people cant copy well but CAN invent much better. I never liked drawing from reference beyond simply learning a concept, my art has always been much worse when i used reference as opposed to just winging it, i always felt pressured to get good at copying because literally every art teacher just screams “draw from life” in every tutorial. I can see the reasoning behind it but im being genuine when i say drawing from reference or life has been the least effective practice for my personal progression. I know there are others out there who feel the same and I wish more teachers could acknowledge it to so that teaching art can embrace more concepts than just drawing from life or reference to get good. I literally feel like my skills have dropped 10 levels when i try to draw from reference and 30 levels from life lol.
So where do you obtain your knowledge of the human figure if not from life and not from reference? Please explain. I think it is impossible. For now I think you are high so you feel like you are great when you really suck. Enlighten me to your truth.
Thank you for this Marshall! I purchased 1994 Perspective Drawing Series and devoured the videos in a week! I'm learning a lot with you and your books recomendations. It would be awesone if you continue doing series like this one and the one on perspective, i really like you as a teacher!
Watched the video three times and my brain still melts when trying to use squares and rectangles to measure the figure... maybe it has something to do with me growing up with Rob Leifeld comic books?
I have to say rimmer's work is pretty impressive when you look at his older sketches. They seem like they were made by a very talented 12 year old, and the fact that he recieved no art education but qualified to teach at an art school. I've never seen anything like his work, though william blake's work comes pretty close. Rimmer apparently said that blake was superior to michelangelo.
59:21 sir Marshall we know that the nose is insignificant however, did you really have to draw it that way🤣 Now I'm anxious whether there is something wrong with my humor 😅
Obviously not, look at the amount of content, there are 12 videos, this was a paid course from Marshall, what would a Proko ad be like? Think about it a little
Marshall has such a captivating way of teaching subjects that are traditionally boring. It’s really incredible to witness

I couldn’t agree more. I love his teaching style more than any other drawing instructor.

I can barely stand a twenty minute video but the way you teach here has got me to stay the whole way through. It's simply amazing

Excellent teaching techniques - spiced up regularly with the vocal intensity of a reporter narrating a close sports event. So engaging!

Again. Thank you so much for these sessions❤️✨
You are such an amazing teacher! We are not only learning about bridgman, we also learning how we could teach better!
This series is a great gift to humanity

My Dad’s rib cage was shaped like a beach ball. It was full and round (muscular guy) anyways and then he broke ribs that never healed.
Rimmer's proportions, very similar to Attack on Titan Titans.
