As someone who has struggled with their battle with Epilepsy, this dude is a huge motivating factor! Even when it gets tough, keep fighting y'all even when it seems hopeless, KEEP FIGHTING! I love this so much!
There were guards and lineman who got in before him who did not have the accolades and all-pro selections he did. Irritated me to a high degree, Faneca should have been first-ballot and I would have sincerely selected him over say Jerome Bettis (and I love "the Bus").
Don Carter is one of the best human beings I have ever known. A war hero from Vietnam, a true Texas cattleman. A great coach and mentor. I love that Alan mentioned him in his speech. We’ll done.
Guy had as much heart as any professional athlete I have ever seen. Plenty of folks who gave their all out there but he give his all and then a little more damn near every second he ever spent on the field.
Hines Ward was the epitome of a Football player and a Pittsburgh Steeler. Faneca was beast, great speech. Most gloss over the year he switched to tackle when a rash of injuries nearly destroyed the team......and he was great at T.
I guess because he was a lineman I didn't even know who this guy was but man after that speech I have a pretty good idea who he is now. A fine man with a wonderful family. His speech was very moving.
What is really classy about him is that he chose to recognize a father who was absent most of his childhood. His mother’s family is made up of six daughters and while they lived in the Houston area, they (all the aunts and their families as they married and the brood expanded, and his maternal grandparents went to nearly every game he played and every home game while he was at LSU he played. If not every game it was very nearly every game. I’m sorry his grand parents did not live to see this. Julie is an amazing woman. He chose well.
I know it's a long shot but I pray Hines is enshrined at Canton one day...also funny to see how fit Faneca got after retiring. Both these men have completed an Iron Man
If you’re a true Steelers fan you knew Faneca would choose Hines Ward to present him. Alan is Hines’s biggest advocate to get him into the Hall of Fame
Alan was an awesome player, and an equally awesome person! NFL players should look to this to learn how to act and be humble.. If you close your eyes it sounds a little like Peter Dinklage
Agree on Hines Ward. Those damn intangibles of Ward are crazy. And I hate Steelers Im a Cowboys fan for 38 years. But I know freaking great. Lol for that matter Im a UT Vol fan and I still love Hines Ward
There are OL who should be in the HOF, but because they played on losing teams, nobody knows how great they were! Chris Hinton should be in the HOF. Pro Bowler at LG and RT. Paul Gruber is the next former Wisconsin Badger to go into the HOF, yes, ahead of Joe Thomas. The man faced HOFers Chris Doleman, Richard Dent both HOFers and blocked like crazy! It's not his fault for most of his career, the Bucs had bad RB's and QB's.
Loved hines ward. Im not even a Steelers fan and i think he screams "steelers". Old school, tough. Even though they haven't been legit sb contenders the Steelers are maybe the most stable consistent franchise ever. They always seem to have a nasty defense and never make drastic changes, especially coaching. Its baffling that they have had 3 coaches ever. Blows my mind. But to me at least, the organization is a symbol of old school, hard nosed toughness. It just has always seemed that way to me.
I can finally say “I have a childhood friend and teammate that’s in The NFL Hall of Fame” Congrats and proud of you AJ.
Not only is this man a HALL OF FAMER, a PITTSBURGH STEELER, but damn he has one hell of a voice.
Congrats Alan, Hines is such a great soul...I miss them both.
As someone who has struggled with their battle with Epilepsy, this dude is a huge motivating factor! Even when it gets tough, keep fighting y'all even when it seems hopeless, KEEP FIGHTING! I love this so much!
Extremely underrated, one of the greatest guards ever
If not thee greatest o line never gets any love
There were guards and lineman who got in before him who did not have the accolades and all-pro selections he did. Irritated me to a high degree, Faneca should have been first-ballot and I would have sincerely selected him over say Jerome Bettis (and I love "the Bus").
Definitely can name 10 guards better than him, but deserves to be in the HOF
All of them are minus Larry Allen basically. Very deserving
Completely agree
Its so damn tough for a guard to get in. Hell yeah, Alan.
It shouldn't seem that tough for someone who's considered a top 4-5 guard of all time.
Don Carter is one of the best human beings I have ever known. A war hero from Vietnam, a true Texas cattleman. A great coach and mentor. I love that Alan mentioned him in his speech. We’ll done.
I think Alan gave the best speech of the weekend. You can tell how much he cares for others.
Alan welcome in the NFL Hall of Fame from Steeler Nation we are proud of you
He looks phenomenal, congratulations to him and all the Steelers!
The best o-lineman I've ever seen, and the only one I've ever heard of that became a marathon runner in retirement.
Guy had as much heart as any professional athlete I have ever seen. Plenty of folks who gave their all out there but he give his all and then a little more damn near every second he ever spent on the field.
His voice is Epic...I feel like i'm listening to his audiobook autobiography.
Hines Ward was the epitome of a Football player and a Pittsburgh Steeler. Faneca was beast, great speech. Most gloss over the year he switched to tackle when a rash of injuries nearly destroyed the team......and he was great at T.
Congrats Alan watched you in my childhood you represent the best of offensive lineman and football in general
Top 3 best left guards ever ! Blessed to have seen him dominate grown men on the field. Congratulations Alan 🙏❤️
His wife reaction to him in his speech that’s a real woman
Great Speech beautiful Famly and I can listen to this speech over and over again.
Oline gets no love, but are the pinnacle of every successful team. Always happy to see them get recognized.
Congrats a truly a Steeler great!
That hug man, I felt it. Congrats Big Red
One of my favorite Steelers, I always love to see the big boys up front get a bust, well deserved
Alan from Steeler nation we are all so incredibly proud of u
How does an elite talent like him have to wait til the 6th ballot to get in. A long overdue honor to one of the elite guards in the NFL
There are few guards they even consider for canton so waiting 11 years is not really a long time.
Thank you Steelers for letting the Jets borrow him. He was key in our championship game runs.
Hell yeah bro . We loved him here in Pittsburgh
And I do believe Hines Ward will be in the Hall of Fame
Oh he deserves it, probably be a couple years though
Alan looks great. He has really taken care of himself
Always amazing to see offensive lineman after they retire.
They don't need all those calories anymore lol.
I guess because he was a lineman I didn't even know who this guy was but man after that speech I have a pretty good idea who he is now. A fine man with a wonderful family. His speech was very moving.

Great player he definitely deserved it!
Alan is a class act like any other Pittsburgh Steeler Hall of Famer!!!
I must say he speaks very well. Didn't need to read from a paper either.... all from his head and heart
As a former og/dl , I always get a thrill seeing lineman on both sides of the line of scrimmage, get inducted into The NFL HOF! 😂
Congratulations Alan your a Hall Of Famer you did it
The most underrated player in this hall of fame class. Linemen deserve more recognition
Awesome speech
I know it's a long shot but I pray Hines is enshrined at Canton one day...also funny to see how fit Faneca got after retiring. Both these men have completed an Iron Man
How in the hell did Megatron get in before Ward? Totally shafted
He was a beast. He would create the biggest holes.
Congrats Alan
You Deserve It
♥️🌟🖤💛🐝💛🖤💛🐝🐝🐝🌟♥️
A true beast and. LSU Tiger for life !!
I saw him in northern Virginia in 2015 at a urologist clinic since I had kidney stones. Seeing him in great shape was really cool
his pull block 34 pike at the super bowl sprung willie williams!
Shoulda been Super Bowl XL MVP
If you’re a true Steelers fan you knew Faneca would choose Hines Ward to present him. Alan is Hines’s biggest advocate to get him into the Hall of Fame
Cowher and Troy also endorsed him in their speeches... so maybe that's a big enough hint towards the Media Leaders who are the ones who choose
One of the best !!
2021 NFL HALL OF FAMER ALAN FANECA
2021 NFL HALL OF FAMER ALAN FANECA
2021 NFL HALL OF FAMER ALAN FANECA
Crazy to see the post football transformation.
He looks more like a game show host
GOD BLESS FOOTBALL PLEASE KEEP THE AMERICAN ANAHEIM.
Alan was an awesome player, and an equally awesome person! NFL players should look to this to learn how to act and be humble.. If you close your eyes it sounds a little like Peter Dinklage
Great LSU boy
Did anyone else notice how similar his speech was to Jack Lambert's?
YAY ALAN!!!!!!!!!
Hines Ward is a Hall of Famer, late bloomer, but the best blocker at WR ever. Randel El, Slash, and Jerome Bettis all know this
Alan Faneca transferred his weight to Hines Ward🤣🤣🤣
Bruhhh 😂🤣😂
I loved Alan in his 2 year stint with the jets I was sad we traded him to Arizona
Alan was a beast with the hair now his a hof with short haircut and thinner
I mean by the end of that…if you don’t respect Allen Faneca…I don’t even know brah
well deserved
as good a left guard as there ever was
*right
Agree on Hines Ward. Those damn intangibles of Ward are crazy. And I hate Steelers Im a Cowboys fan for 38 years. But I know freaking great. Lol for that matter Im a UT Vol fan and I still love Hines Ward
It took way too long to get this guy in!!
Class act
Best OL to ever play for GEAUX TIGERS
the best guard Arizona ever had
Geaux Tigers!!!
When is it Hinse Ward turn.
He looks great! didn't realize he loss many weight. I notice many O line men lose bunch of weight when they retire
He runs marathons now. Plus as you age that weight is havoc on the joints, you don’t lift as heavy or as often.
Pittsburgh born and raised !😈
There are OL who should be in the HOF, but because they played on losing teams, nobody knows how great they were! Chris Hinton should be in the HOF. Pro Bowler at LG and RT. Fred Taylor for the Hall....
Loved hines ward. Im not even a Steelers fan and i think he screams "steelers". Old school, tough. Not ever, we had like 15 between 1933-1969
His voice and mannerisms remind me of Peter Dinklage for some reason
Cause he sounds just damn like him basically just giant version.great freaking notice. How I. Hell did I miss that
i want his voice for my WAZE
Geaux tigers and how isn’t Hines ward in the hall
What was the name of the song that played?
wow where the hell is the rest of him?
Hines ward is bigger than he is. It’s shocking
Allen's hands look like they could strangle a bear and drink a 40z at the same time
#TheSteelCurtainHasFallen and raised their white flag to the Iron Curtain
STEELERS NATION!
Looks exactly like Daniel Day Lewis
He should've stayed a steeler
Looks like a tight end
Why in the world did they pick Steve Martin to give Faneca's acceptance speech?
Hines ward probably weighs more than him now 😂😂
Looks like he’s lost about 150 lbs
4th
lost a lot of weight just saying
Lots of OL do for whatever reason. Makes you wonder if these guys shouldve played other positions
@@fredwilson1188 probably because the only reason they are that heavy is because they are olinemen
Who tf is this guy
Amazing Steelers lineman during the early 2000’s
Arguably the best offensive guard of his generation. At worst top 3.
