This was my first view of any motorised items for camera ......the way he explained the pros and cons amazing... cleared a lot of things for me in terms of making the decision of whether I want to buy one or not there is an amateur
There is a time and place for both buttery smooth movements and also slight wobble for creative film and video makers. You can always take a piece of wood from Lowe's that's 1/4" thick and 6" x 12" that can be portable and can be placed anywhere. Just make sure you add stoppers at each end. Maybe, Andoer will create a programmable app or remote that can make it so it moves left-right for a certain amount of seconds. Im actually working on something similar using the parts from a Robotikits RE/CO OWI-997 (Hobby Lobby).
Wow! Thanks man, I'm making Christian music videos pretty much on my own, so to get a more professional look I've been wanting to get a video camera dolly, this thing is so cool. Thanks, I'm buying it!
Great video it was very informative and objective I like how you show to the quality of the video that you could capture with this device and I love the price I’ve been looking at this device for sometime and I think you have convinced me to pull the trigger on the $65 investment, thanks.
Nice review! I just bought this dolly, but I winder how long does the battery last and how well does the motor holds up. I might need to use it for 20 minutes straight, so I wonder if it’ll hold up.
I rather carry with me a plank of wood than spend another 150 dollars on a regular camera dolly. for a beginner / budget filmmaker this product sounds dope!
great review.. if you use all the internal battery power and then plug in a USB power bank will it continue to work right away or do you have to wait until the internal battery is recharged to use it again ?
Did you shoot the 1st 2 outdoor shots (the bridge and the sunglasses) with this device placed directly on the ground, or was a smooth surface placed between the dolly and the ground? Thanks!
Phillip thanks so much for sharing this tutorial about the Andoer motorized Dolly slider. Just wondering if it holds the weight of a BMPCC 4K that's caged with a T5 SSD.
This could never hold the weight of that rig. Its way too small and could never hold that load without falling over backwards. To be honest, if you can afford a BPMCC 4K, than spend a little more money and get a proper dolly that befits a real cinema camera.
I definitely like the results shown, but with all the automotive stuff I do, it is very difficult to find a smooth surface for something like this. I still might get one, though.
That was my thought too, but it's easy to carry a card board around you can fold/unfold to even a surface like grass. There might be ways to be creative with it. Overall little nice gadget to have
The problem with this, is you hear the LOUD MOTOR in the phone while your recording, so I am trying to figure out how to deal with this annoying problem. So it's good when you know out the audio, and your going to use music. But for an interview it's a PAIN IN THE BUTT LOUD !!!!!
I noticed there is a bit of a jerky movement. There is a Yelangu brand, the same body unit different brand, for $35 to $50. Ebay. Same jerky movement as this Andoer unit. I guess different sellers get their units from the same make and stick their brand on it.
@@kova_tech thanks for the quick reply...yes we can hear it wiring away....we are using our phone so i guess thats why its picking it up. we will edit out later.
I'll use mine for the 1st rime this weekend. I was wondering if it can go left to right then back to left or vice versa . . .continuously. Thank you for your awesome video man. 👌
I have this one now and even made an unboxing video on my channel. I have a not-so-smart question, is there any way that i could modify the device so that it changes to the opposite direction automatically every set time? For example, every 5 secs, it changes to the opposite direction. The reason for this is I want to use this for my song covers, since I shoot myself, it would be impossible that i'm holding the sticks of the drums then I change the direction using the remote unless I have an assistant to do it for me. :(
First, let me give some quick free advise. Run your lav mic cable under your shirt. Nothing screams amateur more than a lav mic cable hanging down the front of your shirt. Sorry. I know it's ni-picking, but it's the first thing I saw when I watched this video and it completely distracted me the whole time. Second, I would never recommend the Andoer L4 to anyone who is serious about shooting video professionally. Just because it's cheap doesn't make it worth the money you pay for it. Just a few observations. A) It lacks any kind of automatic control that a proper motorized dolly should have. B) Its "panoramic" mode is not actually orbiting in a 360 degree circle. It's actually lobing and rotating in a concentric circle, which you can clearly see in your video. It's not moving around a fixed point. C) There's no way this thing can carry the weight of any real camera equipment. I wouldn't put anything more than a super small mirrorless or point and shoot on it. Even a simple 5D mkIV with even a basic 50mm prime would give this thing fits. D) This thing is LOUD! Unless you plan on ONLY shooting B-roll, the L4 is completely useless. It would ruin any shots that require audio. Bottom line: Save your money and when you can afford it, buy a proper motorized dolly that can actually be used in all scenarios.
do not recommend - you can't get spare parts! They'll just make you wait for technical advice and blow you off. It's far too unreliable to get a full 360 circle.

Phillip this is a brief, excellent video without unnecessary waffle. Great work.

For uneven surfaces a *Hot wheels track* on top works wonders.
maybe two hot wheels tracks? or do they make them bigger now?
killer advice really smart idea
How? I don't understand.
@@montazownianr1 I think they mean - buy plastic rails and lay them out so the slider rides on top on the tracks.
Could not wait any longer, ordered mine today from amazon India, got it for less than 50$.
This is by far one of the best review!! Thanks alot Phillip!
Nice footage and nice demo... Congrats!

the updated version use app control, and has stepless speed

I’m going to self shoot a music video for myself. Did you use it? How did it turn out?
Very good review. Nice job showing both how it works and what kind of footage you can expect.
Nice man, I might defiantly think about purchasing this later on for my videos.
Very clean video work btw :)
Great video Phillip :) a nice budget dolly without spending ridiculous amount of money :) love that :D!
This thing looks cool. You might have to bring a little 1x6 piece of wood with you to put it on outside or on rougher surfaces but no biggie.
Great video Phillip, thumbs up. Can you tell me if it has a ball joint so you can angle camera upwards ?
Thanks Phillip, do you have a link to ball joint ?
Man, this thing is really cool!!!!
Sick shots! Im really tempted to get one now!

Is this thing also handy using an mobile phone?

Great and honest review
Tnx man definitely gonna buy this now
Where did you get the table magic arm on your table. How about a review on that? Thanks.
Your link is not there but I found it on Amazon it was 89 instead of 65
great video !
Ordered one, thanks for a great review! Used your link
Thanks for the informative video
It’ll help me with my new channel for sure .keep up the great reviews
Thanks buddy, great job
Im just wondering can it automatically go back and forth by itself?
Amazing video dude! Been debating if I want to buy this or a motorized slider
I rather carry with me a plank of wood than spend another 150 dollars on a regular camera dolly. for a beginner / budget filmmaker this product sounds dope!
Hi - good job on the review. I’m going to order one through the link you provided. Cheers!
Great content, will order mine!

@@kova_tech awesome.. hope it works.
@@kova_tech cool.. 7 hours is longer than i had expected and good to hear it works through USB power also.. thanks for testing..
Great Review, im sold....
Can you use this to drive the camera along the sidewalk more like a dolly?
How does it handle with a heavy set up?
Did you shoot the 1st 2 outdoor shots (the bridge and the sunglasses) with this device placed directly on the ground, or was a smooth surface placed between the dolly and the ground? Thanks!
Thank you, Phillip! Could you please share the name of the arm you have on the table for the overhead shots?

any way you can get it to automatically move or stop?
Is it possible to shot time laps footage with this slider
Do you know if this slider can repeat a back and forth motion automatically without someone controlling it?
Y don't u make a long term review about this product?
I definitely like the results shown, but with all the automotive stuff I do, it is very difficult to find a smooth surface for something like this. I still might get one, though.

Can you advise me where I Can get spare rubber wheels from ? thanks
Kova your good. Great video. You should try making cinematic B-roll. Just saying
Is there a larger one that supports more weight?

Can i put this in a regular slider on a tripod?
What's the decibel level of the motors & is it noticeable on a camera mic?
Nice one Phillip!
Hello. How did you do or what is the name of the effect at 3:07, please ? Thank you.
Can you where I can get spare wheels from please ? thanks
can you mount a monopod to it? or will it topple over?
I'd like to see if it will run on slider rails.
Thanks. Gonna get it..

Can it be used on a slider?
I wish if there was an app to control it along with the remote
Nice review buddy
Can we operate this in phone?
Do you nptice its noisy... We have a wirring in oyr videis since buying it
@@kova_tech thanks for the quick reply...yes we can hear it wiring away....we are using our phone so i guess thats why its picking it up. we will edit out later.
So it wont go straight right ?
@@kova_tech but then it will fell down, if we need straight video with 85mm lenses
Essentially if I put this on a dolly track I could get motion control shots?
Can it support Canon 200d (450 grams) with the sigma 18-35mm (800 grams)? Or to front heavy? Great vid!
It says on the specs that it can support up to 4KG or 4,000grams
Great review!

do you need a ball head mount?????? or can u just screw ur DSLR on?
I bought a variation on one of these. Difficult to get it to follow a path.

Отличное видео. На русском ни одного обзора блин. Хорошо, что я знаю английский
beware the USB port can easily be pushed in as they do not fix it down inside it is suppoorted on 2 small pins into the motherboard
Can you dolly in and out
@@kova_tech Thank you!
The micro usb port turned me off. But overall nice solution.
sold
surface can't be too out of level - and the motor noise is a bit high
Just ordered one through your link.. but paid $69
These things break very easily, especially the remote
