    I have a similar unit to this just installed. Very good and works well. I haven’t played with it too much yet but I can’t figure out: it has a GPS receiver module which is all connected etc. does this mean I can obtain the sat nav service as a standalone thing or does my phone still have to be connected? From the brief play I’ve had with it I can only seem to get a mapping up when the phone is tethered and the unit is basically mirroring the phones mapping. I was hoping the nav was available regardless?
    Thank you

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  2 года назад +1

      The satnav can work standalone without the phone, but if you want more accurate information (Speed cameras, traffic jams etc) then the hotspot from phone is required.

      @@AlexHusTech last question if you don’t mind. Typically android devices like these get clogged up and slow down over time. Is there a way you know of to clear the cache and speed it up again? Thanks

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  2 года назад +1

      These ones are pretty slow, 1GB isn't enough these days, my latest one has 4GB with a decent CPU.
      All you can do is clear the cache from all the apps, stop all diagnostics sending to Google, turning sync off, close all unused apps so not using RAM, go to dev and remove animation to set it to 0, don't use launchers or themes.

    Do you have to turn on hot spot everytime you get in the car or is there anyway to have this start automatically

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  2 года назад

      No idea, probably depends on what phone you have, but none of mine worked unless you leave hotspot option on.

    Hi, great video mate helped me out a lot. Please can you tell if connecting the head unit to the internet the clock will show correct time? Thanks keep up the good work 👍👍

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  2 года назад +1

      My units defaulted it's location to China, so as soon as I update to London as my location, it's give the correct time, it's on the Android settings not the Global settings, if that makes sense.

      Yeah the built in one if pretty bad, I'm not sure but there may be a external WiFi dongle that probably exists, just need to see if you have the connections for it.

    Ive got android 9 for my vw mk6 but when I want to searc for wifi networks it cant find anything and on phone I see 10 networks. Like it has weak signal. Is there any option to improve wifi signal on my android multimedia? Any extra antena to instal on it or something? Mine looks just like yours but it has IPS display and 2gb ram and 32gb memory.
    Thanks in advance

    • @AlexHusTech
      @AlexHusTech  2 года назад +1

      Ohh you're trying to connect to your home WiFi, many inexpensive units won't reach that far, they aren't built to reach out that far as they are meant to be only used to connect to hotspots close by.

    • @marshalonegaming
      @marshalonegaming 2 года назад +1

      @@AlexHusTech ohh that may be a problem. Im like 15m away from my router I see signal for a sec and loose it. So I guess Ill have to enable mobile data make hotspot and like that connect and update apps on it.
      Tbh Ive paid it total 150$ they say its better than those with 1GB and standard display. Everything looks great with IPS display but wifi is almost not reachable 😁

      @@AlexHusTech i found what can increase wifi signal so in case someone ask you or has the same prob. There is a cable with 2 yellow wires and white connector and at the end yellow jack for rear camera. By instaling it/connecting to device signal strenght and bluetooth will improve even if u dont have rear camera just connect it and it will be good wifi/bluetooth signal 😁
