Hi, great to hear from you. Simple little projects make up alot of the projects we create here at our family workshop. They allow us to make use of the scrap wood and earn us money too. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel, all the very best from us all. 👍👍
The laminating of the woods to show contrast is a nice touch. Wood pendants were always tricky to me, because I didn’t know how to seal the the best way. Now that I know the shellac I think I’ll have more confidence. Nice video gentlemen
Just as long as the recipient doesn't have any allergy or intolerance to shellac. 😂😂 You could try something like bees wax mixed with linseed oil as a more natural finish. Good fun to have a go at making and a great way to use up leftover scraps of wood. Thanks as always, all the best from us all. 👍👍
Thank you, we would love to be able to show what we do here at our family workshop if you are ever in West Wales. Thank you for the positive feedback and supporting our RUclips channel. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍

Hi again, a fret saw should be able to do the job. That's what we used before we had a scroll saw. Thanks again for supporting our RUclips channel. All the very best from us all. 👍
Mainly Oak and Mahogany for these projects but we use all sorts of different wood for the work we do. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel. All the very best from us all. 👍

Hi Alick, Great to hear from you. The main four gouges I use for woodcarving are two number 3 gouges, one that is 4mm in width, the other around 10mm in width. The number 4 sweep gouges are around the same width across the cutting edge, measuring around 4mm and 10mm in width. Thanks again for supporting our RUclips channel, all the very best from us all. 👍
Very interesting. I have a necklace that is a painted wooden bird. It snags my clothing, rubbing my shirts. How can I fix this? Can I coat it with something? Thanks for your recommendation. 😊
Hi Wendi, Great to hear from you. Without seeing the jewellery it's difficult to advise how best to sort the issue. If it was a piece I made I would sand off any rough edges on the back to try and prevent it from happening. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel. All the very best from us all. 👍
Hi Ayoub, great to hear from you. We work predominantly in hard wood, including Oak, Mahogany, Teak, Ash, fruit wood, Walnut, Maple etc. For carving I would suggest working in hard wood. The examples that we made here are in Oak and Mahogany. The finish we used on the is shellac sanding sealer followed by linseed oil and bees wax. Thanks for getting in touch and supporting our RUclips channel. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
You're welcome. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Thanks again for getting in touch. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
Hi, great to hear from you. Certain woods are definitely better to carve than others. We use seasoned hardwood for all of our handcarving. That includes Oak, Ash, Mahogany, Fruit wood, Teak, Iroko, Walnut, Elm, Sycamore and Beech to name a few. Hardwood has a closer grain so is usually better for handcarving but you always have exceptions to the rule. We always suggest trying a wood to see if it suits you. Thank you again for getting in touch. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
Hi Jack, great to hear from you. Depends on the project you are working on. We are working in small items so C A glue does a fantastic job and it's quick to set too. I have a video coming up in the next few months focusing on the different ways we use superglue in our woodworking projects so hopefully that will be of interest. Thank you for getting in touch and supporting our RUclips channel. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
Hi Linda, great to hear from you. I haven't made earings before but it is certainly something that I would look at adding to our range in the future. Thank you for supporting our RUclips channel. All the very best from us all. 👍👍
You can always use a coping saw instead. Does the same job, just takes longer and needs more time sanding and finishing afterwards. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel. All the best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
Hi, great to hear from you. Glad you like them. Not too bad in regards to price we sell them in our family workshop between £15-20. We stack cut them on the scroll saw cutting out three and four at a time to make the process more efficient. Thanks for supporting our RUclips channel, all the very best from us all here at The Lovespoon Workshop. 👍👍
This is helpful, but if this is a how-to video, there really should be a list of supplies needed at the beginning, or at the very least, name what the products are specifically as you're using them.
Hi, great to hear from you. These are all made using wood, a scroll saw, leather chord, a necklace clip, handcarving gouges, superglue, sandpaper, belt Sander, paper and carbon paper, a hand drill or pillar drill and shellac sanding sealer. Vintage gouges mainly. Herring bros and Addiss are the best we use.
