GB is a genius. He is a jazz guitar legend - among legends. Many try to sound like him but to no avail. There'll never be another George Benson. His backing awesome. Jorge Dalto and Ronnie Foster two of his mainstays.
I saw him perform feb 77 in Worcester Mass. His wife who sat next to met took us backstage to meet him. He mentioned how pretty my ex wife from Korea was. I immediately bought the Japanese Johnny Smith copy he played that night due to what I heard. That guitar was the heaviest guitar I ever had out of around 40.
Harvey Mason would have done this equally better in some of those George Benson smooth jazz classics if he were to be in that performance. He shined on the drums especially in the "Weekend in L.A." album release in 1979 live at the Roxy.
WOW! The amazing George Benson and his Breezin band. I really appreciate this footage, the performance of "This masquerade" is the best live version I've ever watched on youtube. Thanks for share
Damn... I got kicked out of church due to my poor tambourine playing, and this guy just plays it with his crusty foot? While playing bass? Wow. And look at George, with his lightning fast runs and octaves. Show off!
Ronnie Foster on the keyboards. I think he used the Arp String Ensemble and the Moog keyboards at the same time. The Arp String keyboard was common in the 1970s not just for jazz fusion - but heavily used in 1970s disco.
+karl Williams You couldn't be much of a Musician to make a statement like that about one of the greatest Jazz Vocalist and Musician of our time. Anyone who is a true Guitarist and Musician would already know Benson. If he didn't and listen to his music he would recognize Benson vocal talent which hailed among the best in the business. Your not recognizing that he is a multi talented Jazz and R&B Artist who has won Grammys as a vocalists as well as a Guitarists tells us you are a Novice. Benson is still performing all over the world at the age of 70 to sell out crowds who love his music. Just as Stevie Wonder is a great Key Board player and Vocalist. Benson is a great Vocalist and Guitarist. He does it now for the love of the Craft as he is Mega Wealthy. A true Musician would never make a statement like that .
This man is a gift from god I swear
Def meant to do exactly what he did/does for sure!

Yeah he is a great singer, and you know what, it’s really hard to sing like that live when there’s a lot of energy flying around. Fair play George.
"thoughts of leaving disappear every time I see your eyes..... no matter how hard I try". Always cripples me, ouch. Gorgeous tune, but painful.

benson sings and play and its too easy ! lol ! and he still !
At the start of this tune I got associations with Dancing Queen.

Bem distantes, 150 milhões de anos luzes do "FUNK"😂😂😂😂😂😂
La más melódica de Benson quizá muy hábil con las octavas
Estilo único octaviado
Brooklyn Brothers - Apple Juice
Is Jorge dalton in piano ?
For some reason watching GB, reminds me of Eddie Murphy
Gaaf man, hoe kom je daar aan? Bestonden er toen al videorecorders?
If you people like this version check out the version live also with Ray Charles and Chaka Khan on You tube better than this
Check out the original by Gabor Szabo written by Bobby Womack a much mellower, less over-produced groove.
wow. didnt know they have their version too
where's the kick drum?
I just always wish the singing would end and he'd play the guitar
