Great interview - I remember it was filmed a few k's from where I grew up in Yarraville - so would ride down and watch the filming. Also - so many old landmarks and roads and the Westgate Fwy that is so different from the late 80's early 90's when the film was produced.
I first saw The Big Steal in a preview night at the Regency Cinemas in Rundle Mall in Adelaide. Nadia Tass was there to do an intro (my brother had won free tickets on the radio) and from memory, pretty much the whole audience that night loved the movie. The place erupted in laughter at Steve Bisley getting out of his Jag wearing stockings, high heels and knickers LOL
@Billy Barule ... I also remember seeing Footrot Flats there with my parents and sister back in the mid-80s. But most of my cinema going was to either the ones in Hindley Street, or Piccadilly at North Adelaide.
@Billy Barule ... Piccadilly is still there. I saw Batman 2 there, Titanic, among other movies. I'm old enough to remember when they shut down the Hindley Cinema's and turned them into nightclubs. Saw the last two Back to the Future movies in the one on the north side of the street. Then again I'm also old enough to remember Downtown in its prime lol
