Your videos gave me inspiration and confidence to create a pair of alcohol ink on canvas pieces for my mom's birthday. They came out great and now I came back to your channel for your advice on how to finish them! Thank you; they were a joy to make even though I was still a bit fearful. Can't wait to do another one! Thank you for adding joy to my life through sharing your creations and process, your wonderful teaching, and bringing me to try it for myself. ❤
Thanks for this video! what canvas do you use as a support for your paintings in alcohol ink? they look like ordinary paintings ... thanks for the answer
Thanks for this awesome video! Is it possible to use inks under acrylic paint after inks are dry? Do I seal them before using a different medium if it's even possible?
HI there, super helpful! Unfortunately I am based in Netherlands and it is very hard to get hands on Krylon Kamar Varnish. Would you happen to know about any alternatives please?
This is really hard since different regions offer different sealants. Look for this: GOLDEN : ARCHIVAL VARNISH AEROSOL: MATTE : 400ML www.jacksonsart.com/golden-archival-varnish-aerosol-matte-400ml-uk-only-haz: It has been said to work but I would test it on a small sample. You want to make sure it doesn't reactivate the ink when you spray it.
Actually no, I don't use resin on canvas because it sinks in the middle of the canvas since it's heavy causing a very in uneven look. I stopped using resin because the glossy look hurts the piece in my opinion because the glossy doesn't allow the user to see the work because the light causes a distraction. So I seal it with what I mention in this video. Resin also yellows over time 5-10years
Can you add metallic alcohol ink AFTER you’ve sealed it? I have an alcohol ink on canvas.. and I am afraid if I put the alcohol ink metallic on top of it with isopropyl alcohol it might remove the base colors underneath?🤷♀️🤷♀️
Hi! I love your videos, so inspiring and helpful! Just want to ask, is coating the canvas with only kamar varnish enough? Ive ordered the UV matte online and havent received it till this day due to covid movement control order. I need to send the piece to my client today. Whats your advise?
Coating the canvas after your done with the painting. I'd use Kamar and uv. The Kamar actually seals it from flaking or rubbing off, the uv protects the color from fading. If you are in the states Michael's has both Kamar and uv matte finish. Be carefuly with other brands because I am not sure if it will affect the painting
@@AskariArt Im in Malaysia, sadly krylon isnt easily found here, thats why I bought it online ☹️. Anyway, really appreciate for your reply, uve always been helpful. Looking forward for your upcoming videos!

You are incredible for sharing your knowledge on here!! You have helped me so much!! I’m so grateful for you!!!
I'm so glad!
Thank you for this!
My pleasure!
Do you think this technique would work on an unprimed canvas with regular ink drawing on it?
You real inspire me! What kind of paper you use when you work on such big paintings?
thank you! I use canvas
Help! I accidentally sprayed UV archival first! Have a ruined it? How do I move forward?
Thanks for this video! what canvas do you use as a support for your paintings in alcohol ink? they look like ordinary paintings ... thanks for the answer
I use regular duck canvas from fabric store. Then I build my own frames and stretch the fabric. I then apply 2-3 coats of kilz2 and sand in between
Does we seal before adding acrylic paint or after? And what is the best primer before adding alcohol ink on canvas please?
I have a video explaining the process of priming your canvas before starting alcohol inks
Why do you use Kamar first?

+Ava McClendon I don't see why not I think you can put anything on top of alcohol ink but you just need to make sure you can seal it
@@AskariArt Perfect! Thank you so much for your help!!!!
If I wanted to add crystals and glue or use a small amount of epoxy on this to adhere them would I do that before or after this step? 🤔
I would do it after

Hi! Thanks for sharing your technique. If mounting to a wood panel, would you seal it after you mounted it or before?
I would do it after mounting it
Thanks a lot🙏 For the Great tutorial🤩 Happy and full of creativity 2023 year 🥂🍾
Would you use resin at the very end just to give it a glossy look? Thanks! Love your art!

Ohh ok thank you so much for your quick respond! I’ll follow your instructions! Thansk
Do you do the same thing with Yupo?
yes, it's the same process

yes but it will slightly move it. I would test it on a scrap piece or you can use a brush to put in the metallic lines
can i do this if i am using paint and alcohol ink markers
This is used to seal alcohol inks I'm not sure how it will react with paint but you can test it.

Is the uv by krylon? Or different brand? I would test it if it's a different brand on a different test to make sure you don't ruin your painting
@@AskariArt yes, Krylon, ordered it online after watching this video. Still havent receive it unfortunately
+Ika Aziz honestly it's hard. did you find the uv?
help! I accidentally sprayed UV archival first! What do I do now???
It's ok you can just do one. Coat it 2-3 coats you can put kamar on afterwards Ive accidentally done that or just leave uv archival only
