Gday from straya I used to watch this fully sick show as a kid and play monkey at school at lunch time but got in the shit once using the teachers meter ruler as a magic staff
i just watched 2 eps of the new series! i like it!! i love that they kept the cheesy humour!!

Excellent video. Does anyone know what they were supposed to be doing and whether they ever.got to where they were going? Or why?
Me and the kid that lived next door both got a broomstick and a match and painted them black with yellow ends (no gold paint back then)
Then we went outside to play MONKEY!
Unfortunately we both wanted to be Monkey. Neither would budge so we had an actual fight with still-wet broomsticks.
Good times.
They were headed to The Temple of the Thunderclap in India to get the Buddha's Holy Scriptures to take back to the Emperor of China in order to bring peace to the world & banish all the demons & monsters in it. Sadly, the series only went for 2 seasons & so there was never an ending.
I played Tripitaka with my siblings as I was the youngest, my sister was Sandy, my eldest brother was Pigsy, my other brother was Monkey. I use to enjoy giving my brother Hell with the headache sutra. I usually used a broom as the horse, but sometimes a friend would visit & fulfil that role.

Monkey was a Japanese made TV show set in ancient China, about the adventures of a budiste priest and his three traveling companions on a pilgrimage across China to collect some holey scriptures from India.
Godiego was the Japanese pop group who made the original music and sound track for Monkey TV show.

Lol u know that ,,what I don’t understand is some one wrote I loved those monkey days ,,they brought back memories,then said im18 now ? I mean I only remember monkey coming after school when I was about 8 and now 30 odd years have passed?? So tell me did it come on again after 84 ? On tv,,any way true great show loved it ,,he was a bad boy with his cigarette finger shakes in front of his mouth and there it was a big fat spliff,,xxxxx respect
