Great way to start my Saturday morning! Thank you for the video. Doing similar repairs soon to my bus and trying as much practice off the car before I start surgery. Great help.
If someone didn’t see what you started with, they wouldn’t believe it’s the same body. Looks great. Enjoy doing the drivers side without worrying about filming. Thanks
Patch panels always take longer than we plan. I usually form my own panels which for me I really enjoy the stretch and roll of the metal. I started out using gas welding. So the torch is my friend. Meg welding came along for me 20 years after the gas welding now I want to try teg which to me right now appears like going back to gas but with an arc puddle which I am used to working. You are doing such a great job on this build! Right now we are recovering from the blizzard of last evening we were down to gravel in the drive yesterday but there is 2 feet of snow there now. Puts me to thinking of what it was like back in the old days when we drove our models through the snow to get into town for supplies.
It's getting there Mike. Someone will be getting a great starter car and if they have your determination they may end up with a nice car they can enjoy and be proud of.
Nice job. I have used the aftermarket panels and it’s not easy your doing a great job. It’s going to be a great rod for some one to finish up. Keep up the great work.
Thanks so much. I was a little nervous buying panels. However it was cheaper than buying the bead roller dies and then having to take the time to make them. Thanks again for the kind words ! Mike
You're killing it! I've watched so many guys put in patch panels and cut /weld them tight. Ya need that little area to fill so you're not building it to high and grinding to thin. It's refreshing to see you do it correctly. Thanks for sharing with us.
Good morning! It’s a slow start Saturday morning… but I’m fired up now! You work so fast…when you put the video on high speed, you’re just a blur to a slow-talking Southerner! Ha
I found that an air operated needle-gun tool works good in removing the old dried out undercoating from the frame, underbody and doors of my '51 Chevy truck project. And it's safer than using a torch and scraper. Hope that helps you.
Hey Mike, glad you're not tired of us yet! I learn something every video, so I encourage you to keep us glued. Q. What is the white rollout tape, about 4" wide with all the markings?
Good morning from Northern California might I make a suggestion for you and your other viewers to consider the white rims seem to get lost on the white wall tires might they be black to match the the grill and define the split between the white walls rim and hub capJust a thought for you to imagine in your mind's eye
No. I like cream wheels. They were black when I got them. You can paint your wheels black 😁👍🏼. The joys of hot rodding is to do things how you want to do things. Also to appreciate how others build their cars. Well that’s my thought anyways.
Hi Mike . Really enjoy the videos , like watching a regular guy work his way thru the issues. I am in the middle of a 31 model a coupe build myself. May I ask whose patch panels you are using? I am in need of some and those look great . Thanks for your time and great work. Regards Mike.
U know Matt and them at Iron trap?, and halfass customs?, I watch you guys cause y'all ain't scared to fail and regroup....y'all should communicate with each other, Matt and em in Pennsylvania, Brent in Canada, thanks for sharing ur skills....pax....rew
Hello. Great job as always. The to me personally is the job you are doing is coming from you. The little bit of music is good. But honestly don't edit you talking to much out. You don't realize but the smallest detail of you just talking may be what helps someone threw there day. I would rather hear you talk . Some channels are good they just play more music than let there listeners be part of the build. So keep up the good work.

Happy to help. I’m sure you’ll get through it just fine.

Thanks Paul 😎👍🏼

Thank you. I hope so too. I’m really happy with the progress and how it’s taking shape.
Coming along nicely! Someone is going to get a great start on a rod.
Thanks ! I think so too !

Thanks so much I really appreciate that.
Great fab work. This is my favorite project you've done so far.
Oh I appreciate that. It’s been a fun project. I’m feeling pretty good about saving this old body
I enjoyed this build !! but to be honest with I have bin waiting for the return of the (34) thanks for your time and the video's Mike.😁😁
Ya. I know. A lot of people have been.
I used a propane torch and heated up the underside of the door to remove the undercoat. Works great
I wish I had the opportunity and knowledge how to make these videos. Glad that you do it. Keep up the cool stuff.
I appreciate it. I taught myself how to do all this. Anyone can do it.
I’m happy to do them and enjoy the process. Even though it’s time consuming.
Great Video. You make patch panel replacement doable even by a Novice like me. I can't wait to start cutting things up.
If I can do it. You and anyone can do it.
Great job! I just rehabbed a door bottom myself. It always takes what it takes to get it right.
This is true !
Hey Mike, I see a lot of forward progress nice job that thing if flying together someone is going to get one hell of a cool car 👋😎👍
Thanks so much !

I’ve been meaning to buy one for years. Such a great tool. Thanks for the tip 👍🏼👍🏼
You make it look easy. I should order the patches for my pickup cab
I got mine from Howell Sheetmetal in Tx.
I have scars from that old tar popping when heating it with a torch to scrape it off. Fun times!😂
Yup. I did that on my 30 when I built it. I just ground this off on this door.
Hey Mike, glad you're not tired of us yet!

Q. What is the white rollout tape, about 4" wide with all the markings?
Thanks so much.
That’s a magnetic ruler. The company is called Trulers.
Www.trulers.com. Amazing tool to have and use.
Definitely check them out !
@@ThisOldHotrod just ordered my starter kit. Part of the order process was to tell them how I heard about them.
TOHR rules! Pun intended!
Awesome !
Good to see the content thks Mike
Thanks Gary 👍🏼👍🏼
Another great video! Keep it up.
Thanks !
Looks nice job Mike
Thank you 🙏🏼

I didn't know they were black when you got them I miss that of course to each his own said the woman who kiss her cow
This is great. I got a 32 ford truck that needs patch panels, and the doors are rotten through the bottom. I have a bunch of work to do.
You can do it. Just break it down to simple steps. 👍🏼
@@ThisOldHotrodlol I'll be watching the video about several times

Thanks Mike.
The patch panels came from Howell Sheetmetal in TX. Great quality and fast shipping.
Nice work
I appreciate it
Coming along great. Keep up the good work. What size tires and rim are on the rear?
Thanks so much.
Wheel is a 15x6 F-100 wheel. Tire is a
L-78 I believe. Not sure if the outer dimension. If you google it you’ll find it
Enjoy your videos!
Thanks 🙏🏼

It is looking so good.
Thank you 🙏🏼
So how much for this when done without motor and trans?
I’m not selling it without the motor and trans. It’ll go as it sits.
