Don't get rid of the gravel and cement, recycle it on sight as groundfiller to level the area outside the house, its an excellent base for a parking or a patio that drains away excess water and help keep the house nice and dry
Raise the roof a little so you have higher loft area ro sleep in. We live in Spain and we have renovated a 17 century house. We had the same problem with the ground level which was full of large stones. We ended up have a few different levels. But it worked out fine.
It’s so exciting to see the progress you’ve made! You two are the hardest and happiest workers I’ve ever seen!! You smile through the pain and just keep on going! I can picture you enjoying the fruits of your labor and know it will be so satisfying to be bringing in the new year with a new home!
Ripe figs. Wash figs and cut a cross into the top (narrow part) of the fig going about ¾ of the way down the fig. Pop into the cross a piece of soft cheese (one that melts well and has flavour) Wrap the figs in a strip of parma ham Grill Pour a glass of dry white and enjoy!
This was going to be my suggestion as well! Fresh figs, Goat cheese and prosciutto, either grilled or chilled...One of the most delicious combinations that exist, in my opinion!
We just made jam with the figs from our garden a couple weeks ago. Its really simple: 500 grams of figs, 500 grams sugar, 2 tbsp lemon juice. Boil for 10 minutes, blend it smooth. Let it boil untill the consistency is how you want. Store it in clean glass jars. The cleaner the jars, the longer you can keep it (up to a year)
Yes, with fresh goat cheese and beacon strips and for additional flavor on top of goat cheese some drops of aceto Balsamico, thyme, honey mixture. Great if done on grill....
You guys do an amazing job! So excited to watch the build step by step. When you've worked this hard have a soak in salty water. Just add normal cooking salt to ur soak - about 2 cups to a normal bath. Really relieves the aches n helps healing. Also soak tired sore hands in a bowl of salty water or vinegar water
Second comment: as much as I love watching what's going on each Sunday, PLEASE take time to relax. In this video you both look shattered and I SO hope you don't feel the need to rush and push yourselves harder, just to give us more video content each week. You two come first, so please look after yourselves xx
Well done you two - I've been renovating my small cow shed here in UK for the last couple of years and digging the floor out was by far and away the hardest part!!! Looking forward to see what you do with the new roof.
From a Portuguese lady leaving in London. So addicted to your videos, guys. Enjoying your determination, hard work, endurance and success with it all. Please do not throw the concrete beams you've so nicely stuck in your property. Many ideas of how to use them. From gardening, orchard to retaining walls. RUclips is full of people sharing ideas on how to recycle what you've saved there.
You can use the rubble to make outside patio, parking spot for your car or even an outside kitchen so you don’t have to make the house inside hot in the summer are you doing such a wonderful job and I really enjoy your videos thank you
You guys rock! You’re always so positive and enthusiastic! You’re both working so hard to make your dream come true and you’re both looking so fit and healthy 💪. I love that you’re so natural, normal, genuine and real ☺️
SO much work you have done here! You two have really taken this project to the next level, several times over. Actually, since the pandemic has us all out of kilter, this is a great use of your time while you can not travel the world in your van like you wanted to. Your sense of aesthetics has proven itself in your beautiful van build, so I know that this barn house will be amazingly beautiful when you get done with it. Wish I could be there to help you with all the work. Kisses and cuddles to Miss Gingy, and all the best you two!
Hi Theo and Bee - great video thanks for taking us along - it's looking really good - you have done so much hard graft - you should be proud of the floor good job - keep safe Sending big virtual hugs - Chris & Marianne x
Y'all are just my favorite. Watching stateside with bated breath for each new video! Such inspiration! Can't wait til I am allowed to leave this place.
I love your enthusiasm, your smiley faces and can’t wait for the next video. So excited for you. If I could be a good 20 years younger I would love to do something similar. Take care x
On the heat these days ....I feel like a "human bean" too. Think of the lines on your "shelf" as proof of your hard work. You both have just light in your faces when you speak of what is to come. WELL DONE YOU ! !
Dried figs with lime zest and almonds are amazing...you first cut the figs in half but not all the way and dry them for a few days. if they are dry enough, you fill them with one almond, little bit of lime zest and put the halves back together! I learned this in Italy and it tastes sooo good!
Some real grafting going on with you two. Well done and will be continue to watch. Bee even managed to edit a special birthday wish video for T t G Chris. Bravo Zulu you guys.
You both are amazing! Super hard work and those of us that have done work like that can truly appreciate all that goes into it, literally blood, sweat, and tears. We had to use a breaker like that for a fireplace floor mantle, every joint in my husband's body hurt, but it gets the job done. Love watching the progress!
I’m a new subscriber and I have to say I absolutely love watching you both. It is such a joy seeing how you both speak so kindly to one another, smile and and endure that heat while working so very hard. Keep up the amazing hard work...I can see your vision and it will definitely pay off. So proud of you both😀
I / we really practically see that you both are Walking the Talk ! Your vision project of “Off the grid” is coming on very well for yourself and you are a grounded model for others so that individuals living in a fantasy world of off the grid will understand what it really involves!
Congratulations on all the hard, hard work you both have done. You are an amazing couple, and l love to see the love you have each each other Shining so brightly, and Gingy Bear 🐈to, it warms my heart.💗
Just love you guys. You both just seem like the loveliest loveliest people. And so creative and hard working too. You both deffos inspired me to live this life. I’ve been in my van for about two years now and can’t imagine ever being without my wheels. It’s now my dream to have various little plots of land all over the world for permaculture and living freely and sustainably. It’d be open for likeminded peeps to come and help out and live and cultivate and create together. 🥰 Thanks to you guys it feels like a realistic goal now, not just a pipe dream. Thank you for doing what you do. You make a very very positive contribution to the world. X
If you hit your deadline that's going to be the most satisfying and enjoyable christmas eve ever 😊 All the best, we're enjoying the journey, thanks for sharing!
Insulation, insulation, insulation. Nothing else can keep a house warm as well as cool when needed! Eventually, a window or another "door" to open in the top of the roof when it's really hot outside, as hot air always will raise and will make a natural flow of air even when there is no wind. As always a wonderful video and an amazing project, you wonderful people .. and cat!
I don't know you guys, but im so happy for you! So good to see happiness like this and learn from it! I also live in Portugal. One day i hope to do just this! peace and love :)
Omg. It's so amazing. I am so happy for you. Congratulations!!!! You did it. You did it so fast actually. You did a massive amount of work quite quickly. You really worked hard, non stop. Well done both. Be so proud of yourselves. Your home is coming together. So HAPPY for you. Hugs to you both. Give Security Guard Ginggie a big cuddle. Love to you all . 💗
Wow! When you start building it will feel fantastic and for some reason I swear your bodies will be thankful. I wish I had a fraction your of ambition. Good on you. Take care.
All the work you guys are doing will pay off in the end. Well done! I'm looking forward to your progress as your family is living the dream most of us think about
My arms were hurting just thinking about all the work you have done! I enjoyed watching this so much. I like the way you left a little bit of the rock for a shelf, and think I would not smooth out the lines of the demolition because they are such a reminder of this hard work and give it a lot of character.
Love figs! You can eat the whole fruit, including the skin. You can slice them and make fig tarts, or fig pies wrapped in dough. You can slice them and add to cereal or yogurt. My favorite way to eat them, however, is straight off the tree. Enjoy! And the barn looks awesome!
Agh! I was just about to make this same comment when I saw you had beat me to it. Perfect for sectioning off a garden and making raised beds! You can even paint the concrete,if one wishes, so it more closely resembles natural rock.
Oh my goodness, yall are getting so close! I am so excited for you two.Gingy is keeping everyone in line and on task. This is going to be such a great home.So beautiful already.
Fig jam. Very popular in S.Africa where I grew up. You can use the whole fig. I'm sure you can get a recipe on RUclips or Google. Love the videos, keep them coming x
Wow! You guys have worked so hard! Bee I thought you were going to cry at the end, it must feel overwhelming, both in what you’ve achieved and the hard work ahead. Big hug 🤗 It’s going to be incredible when it’s done 👍😊
First comment: you guys are absolute superstars, the hard work you are putting into this is breathtaking. I am so looking forward to see the full conversion.
You can make a wonderful Thai green vegetable curry with fig, butternut squash and anything else you have around. Super yummy. Love your progress with the tiny house
Well done, so much accomplished, love seeing the satisfaction in your faces after all the hard work... very inspirational. Keep the 'sculptural' concrete beam pile!
Dry the figs. Cut them in half, and place them on wood framed wire mesh racks with screen over top to ward off bugs, etc. Taste like candy and keep for long period of time. Movable racks allow pointing toward sun. My parents made large quantities from two fig trees. Great for gifts and handouts to visitors and family.
Honey fig. A receipt from south of Italy Cut the figs Cook them until they release liquid Drain it. Take the liquid in a pot on a low flame until it gets the consistency of honey bee. With the fig's pulp make jam just adding a little sugar and then cook it on a low flame until in turns into amber color.
Don't get rid of the gravel and cement, recycle it on sight as groundfiller to level the area outside the house, its an excellent base for a parking or a patio that drains away excess water and help keep the house nice and dry
it looks like the concrete beams have rebar in them. may be difficult to crush
Great idea!
You can use those beams.
- outline your driveway
- outline a path to your garden
- make planters against the house
- make a fire pit
Can’t wait to see the outcome of your tiny home🏡💖
Thanks!

Susana Diaz not that it’s any of my business but I’d love to see a tour lol

use the concrete slabs to line a garden or the path to the wells
The Indie Projects
Figs are lovely poached in red wine with a cinnamon stick, then chill the fruit & the liquor and eat with Greek yogurt & a spot of honey
Stew any fruit with sugar and cinnamon or a couple of cloves. It is lovely on porridge as well.
Well done you two - I've been renovating my small cow shed here in UK for the last couple of years and digging the floor out was by far and away the hardest part!!! Looking forward to see what you do with the new roof.
Thank you! That sounds like a cool project
Hat off to the two of you for putting in all the hard work.
What an amazing effort guys 👏👏👏
Thanks!
The broken up bits of concrete would look amazing if you mortared them into a spiral garden for herbs. It’s starting to look fab!

I think Gingi Bear approves!! There's nothing better than when your cat approves. Hilarious how she inspected the entire building. I love her.
I look forward to your new videos more than I do any other RUclipsrs. Living vicariously.

You can make planters out of that concrete slabs.
Was going to say. Interlock them n make raised beds n grow veg or flowers.
Wow such hard work looking good . Congratulations on the bolder removàl.
