      It's never gonna improve, as the SD 8 Gen 1 is way too power hungry. It heats up and the software does make it even worse. I'd get another device. Using the Xiaomi 12 right now, that's my honest experience. I'm not a heavy user at all.

      Yup, but keep in mind, just because the phone gets hot doesn't mean its over heating. It could just be a sign that the phone is efficiently transferring heat away from the components and out of the phone. The only time you should be worried is when the phone is running slow or slugish and the processor is running hot. 😀

    2 years later, after this phone receives an upgrade to HyperOS, i find a little bit improvement with the battery life and heating issues under a normal daily usage such as scrolling social media or even youtube videos, it doesn't heat up as much as before, and i get around 7 hours screen on time compared to MIUI which only gives you like 4 hours at best. (a lot of Xiaomi phone get a massive battery life improvements after the HyperOS upgrade, even the recent Poco X6 Pro that has doubled the time from 4 hours in MIUI to 8 hours screen on time on HyperOS)
    However if you want to play heavy game on this phone for quite long time such as Genshin, HSR, or even Warzone, i suggest you buy a phone cooler and a heatsink that you can attach to the back cover, it can help your phone to survive longer.

    How can be removed from the frame the side buttons? Because I tried to replace them, but I didn't figure out how to remove them from the back. Should be removed the display assembly? From the back I was able to take out only the buttons flex cable, but the buttons are like situated into another "chamber" and the buttons are not pressing directly the buttons microswitches, there are 2 intermediate pieces, a metal pin and a rubber membrane. The buttons are pressing the pins, the pins are pressing the membrane and the membrane is pressing the micro switches.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  10 месяцев назад +1

      The physical buttons on the side of the frame are either push in or pull out. Not sure which one but you can try both to see which works. If its pull out you have to just physically tug them out from the frame. If its push in ones, once you remove the gasket and flex cable assembly with button clickers from the frame slot, you can push in the buttons into the frame and they should come out into the frame slot. But most likely just pull out ones.

    • @ciubex
      @ciubex 9 месяцев назад

       @PBKreviews Thank you very much for the answer!
      Yesterday I tried again to pull out the power button, here are my conclusions.
      To take out the buttons by pulling it, it is required to get first another small piece which contain a small metal blade which acting as a retainer. The button have inside 2 small gaps, the one pointing to the phone bottom have inserted this metal piece which blocking the button inside. So first should be removed this piece of metal, placed actually into a black plastic piece, this should be lifted up with a strong needle, and then the button is camming out easily.
      The same retention method is applied to the volume rocker button too, but there, the retention piece is placed on the hole from top.
      If you inspect carefully the all 4 holes near the buttons with a magnifying glass, can be identified better the retentions pieces.

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  Год назад

      None of those cables @1:53 in the video are for the fingerprint sensor. The only cables I can think you are referring to are the coaxial cables/wire cables and those are for antenna connections. You would need to find one in similar length from another phone possibly to use since its hard to find these cables for phones. You can search online for smartphone coaxial cable replacements.

      Depending on your budget, either would be good for daily use. The 12 is good enough as is, the pro has the additional 2 speakers and minor other upgrades which I would prefer. Also these aren't really water resistant. There is no IP rating nor are there any gaskets around connectors etc. So I wouldn't risk dunking them in water. :)
