The best music is at 4:51 when that Kent Crossflow is giving all the revs in third gear, after the orange Chevette estate dived out the way. Love these videos but the best feature is the soundtrack of that Escort.
Awesome I was just driving the a63 today trying to recall how it was going London - York in he early 90s. Bramham crossroads was completely insane back then does it appear in any of your videos? It was a grade separated junction but the roads that looked like slip roads were 2-way IIRC
If you're driving on a road with no cars it's indistinguishable from driving in the 80s. That's the only difference visually but yet it was absolutely ages and ages ago.
Wish had done more of these videos. Only did 12 of them from 1984 to 1990. Ranging from 10 to 80 minutes long. So have around 12hrs worth, of video. Did do one video in 2000, around the Freeport area, with a mini DV camera. Then started proper in 2011, with an action cam, in a phone holder. And now with a proper dashcam

Those two guys were struggling with that roller at the roadworks, made me chuckle... Great videos, thank you
The road surface looks so much smoother than now. No speed bumpe or traffic calming obstacles either.
Another great video . Thanks for sharing
When the A1 used to be busy !! 👍
This is golden.

When drivers were more patient & new when to go & stop without bibing ' ie the roadworks were more of a stroll in the park ' & britain was britain 🇬🇧👍

Whats the name of the song on Radio 1 before you go onto the A1 Sounds like Matt Bianco but i could be wrong.
Matt Bianco - Dancing in the street (1984)
0:34 😂
May i ask where is the road at the beginning as i like to look on Google street view to see how things have changed?
At the start of the video is N Bailygate, A645 Bondgate, & Knottingley Road,
The A1 is now the A162, & A1246. Bypassed with the A1M.
@@251hanomag Thanks. I love to watch these especially with the radio playing in the car. Just wish I'd done it in my home town as well.
