Amen starting will be better for now than Cam. We saw the connection he has with Sengun in the 2nd half yesterday. His instincts and timing cutting from the weak side and ability to pass and play 2 man with Sengun will create open 3s for Fred, Dillon and Jabari. On top of that his defense and rebounding are already very solid. I’m a huge Cam fan too. I just think Amen and Sengun complement each other surprisingly well despite the shooting.

@@ryanodom7720 Completely agree that I don't think Cam is quite ready to start let him get a consistent role off the bench but keep increasing his minutes. Especially with Dillon back now Amen can fit into that starting 2 guard to create some stuff with his slashing and defense until Cam is ready or Jalen somehow turns it around.

Jalen shoots uncontested from perimeter most of the time because the opponents do not respect his shots. Seeing his efficiency so low, the opponents camp around the rim making Alpi's job more difficult.

Complete facts. Unfortunately from what i see Jalens play is disjointed and seems to affect the chemistry or rather the flow of things. Is not just him not converting its the manner in which he makes negatives plays i.e. turnovers or poor shot selection. He hasnt found the team rhythm and i think him being a focal point right now is a mistake. I hope he can learn and get better watching how the team operates with him getting less minutes. He needs to look at tape as painful as that maybe for him.

Cam Whitmore's mistakes will cause less damage than Jalen's mistakes have been doing throughout the season. You cannot put in jeopardy the aspirations to win games of the other players and the whole Rockets community just for the sake of a player who insists on making the same mistakes. Bench him immediately. Moreover, Rockets should find and get a sharp shooter asap.

Jalen was made to believe this was his team for his first two years, and even the start of this third year. It could’ve been. On the other hand, Alpi very early on showed flashes of greatness but didn’t get his opportunity until now. I’m glad he’s gotten the chance to drive the offense. He deserves it and has earned the respect of his coach, teammates, and the league. The same flashes of greatness I see in Cam. He, like Alpi in his rookie season, needs a chance to show he can develop into a star. It’s time to accept that we may not get the value out of a Jalen trade like we’d hoped for the second pick in a draft. But the Rockets improved this year and have hit a plateau. It’s time to make changes to achieve consistent playoff level basketball. Trade Jalen Green before the deadline when his value is highest. Let Cam get his chance to develop. See what you have to work with before drafting any more picks and target the right fits: shooting and rim protection.

I do think Jalen Green needs to be bench but it’s not going to happen due to not having a quality player that can replace him.
While Cam has been mostly good he not quite ready to start he might be next year. So the only way Jalen gets bench is they trade for a quality starter like Rozier and maybe Brogdon.
But yeah Sengun was fantastic even on a bad game he gotten a triple double shows why he a legit all star level player. Also Jabari was fantastic too in the Jazz hopefully his ankle injury isn’t serious.
Amen is also a defensive monster man I love the way he can defense and get the boards not to mention he pretty good at cutting and getting to the rim. Once Amen gets his shooting going he going to be a problem. Great video Jackson

It's been so long since the Rox have been in a season where the goal is winning that maybe some have forgotten what a competitive season looks like. The bench comps are a disgrace and it VERY common that guys miss time when battling vs logging minutes. Stone bringing in afterthoughts and fallback on marginal/fingers crossed/for the vibes guys and not addressing the holes is on him. We haven't seen our last tough stretch or struggles and none of the rookies are gonna change that.

I drafted Whitmore in two dynasty fantasy leagues (bias), but Jalen Green is not a long-term piece for your team, and Cam likely is. Cam just isn't consistent yet. He seems far more engaged when he's scoring. I worry about his defensive activity when he isn't. But I think regardless of whether he starts, Ime should be running more sets to get him looks - there appeared to be no effort to get him involved offensively in his first start.

I'm 1000000% with you Jackson. Treating Jalen like with kid gloves doesn't help the team. I personally haven't seen any G league player turn into a star. He simply doesn't have the basketball IQ. I thought he would be a slight bigger Ja Marant but his quickness doesn't mean much because he doesn't finish at a high clip. Then he always missing his 3's as well. Your starting two guard shooting 33% from 3 isn't going to get you nowhere. High draft picks don't always pan out. If three of them pan out, then we're lucky. Maybe it's Sengun, Tari, and Cam or even Bari as a nice role player.

Nice take. Jalen needs to be off the bench. Cam is the best shooter on our team as of now and we should give him a chance to start. If it works out, we got a starter in rookie contract for another 2 extra years. If it doesn't work out, we may bring in a SG. At the end of the day, keeping Jalen as the starter's spot is the worst decision Ime ever made as a coach. Some people in the comments section have already rejected the idea of inserting Cam in the starting lineup, and they suggested bringing in some household names on the market. I don't understand why some people always think the grass is always greener on the other side. Are we one piece away from winning a championship? Probably not. Cam works hard and perform, and we should at least give him a chance, as simple as that. It is also a positive impact and message to the youngsters on the team - as long as you work hard, you will get a chance. Isn't that the best motivation for them?

  • @Darkgnome
    @Darkgnome 11 месяцев назад +1

I am not an expert but a conspiracy theorist at the monet...
I think the problem with Jalen is:
1- He has fast twich fibrate muscles allowing him to do quick and inhumanely strong moves. But these muscles get tired faster than the slow twich fibrate ones. With extended periods of play he looses a bit of his strength for defense and shooting, causing him to loose ryhthm.
2- He is mentally weak. Proof is his bragging against Cade Cunningham. This causes/builds stress on him everytime he hears that he is not ... good.
At the moment his biggest problem is mental. Because he couldn't fill the words he said after his draft. The talent is there but not kicking in, making him mad stressed.
Udoka should bench him to save his career and houston not to loose him. His first two years already put extra load on him without proper adaptation. He should start strength training to increase the slow twiching muscle amount which will decrease his quickness some but make that quickness more effective by absorbing hits and do this constantly. Also he should get therapy from veterans and the coach from that moment. When he get his confidence with the shooting and his resiliance to play both ways, he should start getting minutes to see the differance to increase his confidence more.
Please don't bludgen me to death by words if I wrote something wrong. I am not that in to basketball as you.

Bridges is a 6'6" defensive specialist that can play the 2 and the 3 and averages over 20+ points a game. And he has never missed an NBA game, he is an "Iron Man". He's only 27 and he fits with the Rockets' win-now strategy. Pair that deal with a better back-up big man. I would want a big bruising physical player that can can give us some defensive rebounding and some rim-protection. We are a defensive half-court team, why not embrace it?

Allow me to give Jalen his flowers while I still can because this rockets fan base, just like the rockets offense, is frustrating fr
First let me point out that Ime said himself that they’re trying to make Jalen an all around player, not just a scorer
So far he’s a better passer/playmaker than he was a year ago
He’s definitely a better defender than he was a year ago
Sure we want him to hit more shots but we have to realize that NBA players are human as well
When you demand the defensive effort like Ime does, of course they’re not going to hit shots at first…the dude is probably tired and doesn’t have his legs under him like he normally does
Jalen probably has a lighter frame than his teammates so he’s playing with a lot of big bodies that Ime prefers
A year ago everyone was clamoring for the offense to run through Sengun more and now he’s got that and we’re all loving it
Jalen is pretty much going through what Sengun went through at first and now y’all want Jalen traded or to come off the bench
As far as turnovers, both Sengun AND Jalen make mistakes but they’re still young
When they actually run a play for Jalen, he does well…but most of the time when he takes a shot, it’s pretty much a bail out play
If you want Jalen to have more of an effect on the offensive end then let him run most of the offense with Sengun and Bari
In my opinion, Jalen has sacrificed the most and took a backseat only to see that this fan base is turning on him
So thank you Jalen for still being a team player, thank you Jalen for improving other areas in your game
Now if we wanna actually talk about the real problem…it’s the offense in general
Most of the offense is just Fred and Sengun while everyone else is standing around
Sengun sometimes goes one on one, drawing the defense and decides to take it himself instead of kicking it out to the open man
Fred throws up wild shots as well
Then you have multiple people playing with tunnel vision instead of passing it to an open player
Don’t get me wrong I love Sengun and his game, I love Fred and all he’s been helpful for, I love Ime for bringing this team some structure
I’m happy that the rockets are better than what they were BUT this offense needs to get better…not just a 2 man game because other teams will eventually pick up on it
It’s the TEAM OFFENSE that’s the problem, not any single one player….stop being hard on just Jalen because if we ended up trading him…what are we gonna say when he lights us up on another team?

There was no effort to get Cam involved offensively last night. Amen seems allergic to passing to him.

Amen seems like a very willing passer. Sometimes things don’t line up, and I doubt it was intentional.

I think Amen is just nervous and finding his way to do the "right" thing right now so he looks a bit stiff and can miss Cam on some of those lob attempts in transition. The more he plays Amen will settle down more and get into a flow instead of just sticking to a hard gameplan

Amen is somehow nervous and excited being on the court. The more he plays, the better he will become, I think.

As a rocket fan... I don't know how true this... I read something abt Jalen Green have mental health problems... If he do they need to set him n let him deal with it... As for Cam Whitmore l like him but this is the first time I ever seen him look so bad on defense.... And Jalen wat ever the problem is keep ur head up God will take care of it 👍

Jalen needs a summer to improve and show the fans whatever he got left in him. It would be a huge mistake to trade him right off.

Team Mobley was always right and it was so obvious. Our front office is a massive joke. Worst in the league easily. Why don’t we as a fan base put pressure on stone? He’s TERRIBLE unless you need him to tank you into a top 5 pick

TALKING ABOUT THE ANOINTED ONE- Superstar, cornerstone, franchise or generational type players are born ready!
*Such a talent must bolster the following attributes, (High BBIQ, leadership, a skill-set, two-way talent, work ethic & tha dogg mentality).
*Michael Jordan (the savant), explained his knowledge of every facet of the game allowed him to beat anybody in basketball.
*M.J. had a remarkable work ethic and a skill set that made him unbelievable and his high BBIQ allowed him to dominate!
*Presently, Jalen Green has proved 'BORN READY' is not in his DNA.
    *Unfortunately, he's not that GUY.
    *NOTE: The BALL doesn't LIE!
