Not only is Cam a ball stopper but, his defensive acumen( where and when to rotate, ball watching) has to improve. He would compromise the defense and we hang our hat on defense. Can't have that.

After watching NBA cup final ,we are playing really good,after seeing OKC not allowed to defend by refrees and how weak they look ... Houston wasnt allowed to defend in Semifinal game against OKC and made it to last 5 minutes with only 6 points ... Our players are doing great ,we only need avarage shooting and i have a sense Houston will go further than people think in the playoffs
Personally Fred is our biggest issue on offense tbh he is not a true point guard and his dumb shot selection is really the reason for our poor offense and you can’t tell me otherwise

This team will only go as far as there two young stars can take them. These are crucial formative years for sengun and green and they need to be getting the majority of reps. if green doesn’t pick it up within the next season or two I’d move off him and package assets for an all star caliber guard. Thompson and Sengun seem to be locks going forward now this question is can anyone on this roster cement themselves as a top 10 player in the next couple years without that you will be a middling team no matter who you get barring a top 15 acquisition. Side note on green I think he should try to emulate ja morant more because he’s an inefficient jump shooter with insane body control but he’s running the risk of turning into Malik monk at his current pace. Jalen Green tries to play so fast he sometimes forget to read the game! I would like him to understand 1. Read the defense, understand how they want to slow you down 2. Realistic trade sounds something like this. Rockets trade Brooks, Adam's, and Fred to the Pelicans for Ingram, Jones, and Murray. If you make a trade in the off-season keep in mind a top pick meaning someone like Ace Bailey isn't bad.
Here's my take: 1) Cam Johnson doesn't make sense to me because he's just another wing. Rockets are already stacked there and unless we're unloading someone it just causes a bigger logjam. As is, Cam Whitmore can't even stay on the roster. 2) Nic Claxton contract is too expensive and doesn't address shooting need 3) Lavine I would definitely be interested in if available at a decent price 4) Collins is another player that I think works well. He shoots decently, is an athletic, adequate defender who can play the 4 and 5 on a reasonable contract.
I will like see if they can sit alpe for one game. I believe JG plays better when alpe is not on the court. We had the same problem when we had pippen with the Rockets he couldn’t fit well with the offense playing alongside with Olajuwon

Love it. I think Cam Johnson is a perfect fit on this roster. I believe relinquishing the 2027 Nets pick swap would have a lot of value for them. It would allow them to extend their tank by a year if needed. I believe that pick swap and some expiring contracts would probably be enough to get Cam Johnson from the Nets. I think they'd prefer to control their own pick rather than receive a couple of late first rounders they don't control. I also like Zach Lavine a lot as well as a huge Jalen Green upgrade. Lavine has had a lot of injuries and has a bad contract. However, that Jalen Green contract is also looking pretty terrible right now. I think it would make sense to include Jalen in a Zach Lavine trade. He would make sense for Chicago who is looking for a young star to build around and Jalen would be a reasonable gamble for a tanking team. To make the matching salaries work, another team would have to be involved due to the poison pill provision with Jalen's extension. Detroit is now so far under the cap that they could take on Steven Adams's contract for some 2nd-round picks. The deal would be Jalen Green, Jae'sean Tate and Jeff Green to Chicago. Steven Adams would go to Detroit along with some 2nd-round picks. Houston would get Lavine and a couple of minimum salary guys like Torrey Craig and Horton-Tucker. The Rockets would have an excellent, efficient scorer who can create but is also an elite catch-and-shoot threat. Lavine is not a good defender but neither is Jalen Green. I think that would make the Rockets a top-5 team in the NBA. Chicago would be in better position to tank but also takes a chance on a young with some amazing athleticism.
Jakob Poeltl is a name i like alot, and shooter again cam is a good add, Zach is interesting but expensive not just in money but mind set for new young guys some other guy's are De'Andre Hunter, cj, lonzo as well
To solve Rockets current shooting issue without major trade, they should slow down their pace in half court offense with more ball and people movement, this will result 1) better shooting opportunities; 2) less scoring opportunities for the other team due to slower pace; and 3) drain down the offense energy on the other team due to they will need to spend more time on defense. On the other hand, if Rockets runs faster pace with the current low shooting efficiency, then it will result 1) more scoring opportunities for the other team due to faster pace; 2) make the other team more energized on offense due to spending less time on defense; 3) make Rockets themselves run out energy on defense in the second half due to fast pace game as has happened many times this season.

Zach lavine doesn’t change us from a 1st round exit, neither does cam Johnson. These aren’t put over the top moves. Idk y people are In a win now mode. Shooting does need to be addressed, but a back up 5 and another ball handler to me is more important. If we’re stuck with Fred and jalen to being the primary handlers we need a back up when they’re assing it up.

Third team may or may not be necessary: Pacers: Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks Rockets: Andrew Nembhard, Aaron Nesmith, Bennedict Mathurin, Isaiah Jackson A sign and trade may be necessary to acquire Jackson since he'll be restricted FA. Even with him coming off torn achilles, he would've had ample time to recover by then. He's definitely a legit back up to Alpi. I love him floor running/rim running ability. His shot blocking prowess is top tier as well. Nembhard and Nesmith's game speaks for itself. I think we need as many legit 2 way players on our roster as possible. Love it. I think Cam Johnson is a perfect fit on this roster. I believe relinquishing the 2027 Nets pick swap would have a lot of value for them. It would allow them to extend their tank by a year if needed. I believe that pick swap and some expiring contracts would probably be enough to get Cam Johnson from the Nets. I think they'd prefer to control their own pick rather than receive a couple of late first rounders they don't control.
I also like Zach Lavine a lot as well as a huge Jalen Green upgrade. Lavine has had a lot of injuries and has a bad contract. However, that Jalen Green contract is also looking pretty terrible right now. I think it would make sense to include Jalen in a Zach Lavine trade. He would make sense for Chicago who is looking for a young star to build around and Jalen would be a reasonable gamble for a tanking team. To make the matching salaries work, another team would have to be involved due to the poison pill provision with Jalen's extension. Detroit is now so far under the cap that they could take on Steven Adams's contract for some 2nd-round picks. The deal would be Jalen Green, Jae'sean Tate and Jeff Green to Chicago. Steven Adams would go to Detroit along with some 2nd-round picks. Houston would get Lavine and a couple of minimum salary guys like Torrey Craig and Horton-Tucker.
The Rockets would have an excellent, efficient scorer who can create but is also an elite catch-and-shoot threat. Lavine is not a good defender but neither is Jalen Green. I think that would make the Rockets a top-5 team in the NBA. Chicago would be in better position to tank but also takes a chance on a young with some amazing athleticism.

To solve Rockets current shooting issue without major trade, they should slow down their pace in half court offense with more ball and people movement, this will result 1) better shooting opportunities; 2) less scoring opportunities for the other team due to slower pace; and 3) drain down the offense energy on the other team due to they will need to spend more time on defense. On the other hand, if Rockets runs faster pace with the current low shooting efficiency, then it will result 1) more scoring opportunities for the other team due to faster pace; 2) make the other team more energized on offense due to spending less time on defense; 3) make Rockets themselves run out energy on defense in the second half due to fast pace game as has happened many times this season.

A sign and trade may be necessary to acquire Jackson since he'll be restricted FA. Even with him coming off torn achilles, he would've had ample time to recover by then. He's definitely a legit back up to Alpi. I love him floor running/rim running ability. His shot blocking prowess is top tier as well. Nembhard and Nesmith's game speaks for itself. I think we need as many legit 2 way players on our roster as possible. Mathurin could be core bench piece. We'd essentially have two starting caliber line ups

Unless the Rockets trade for an elite player this is just much adieu about nothing. To be a championship contender you have to have at least one elite player. You really need two. But one is a must. That’s a major reason that the Thunder are better than the Rockets. They have SGA. And the Rockets don’t have an elite player to counter that.
