I saw this video clip of the latest Iceland volcano around a month ago, where some guy was at like literally a 45⁰ rock slope, literally probably around 10 feet up from active lava.
Granted, the clothing they wore for cold survival, plus the freezing cold temperatures would provide far more protection then if this was a hot climate, like Hawaii.
Anyone that's been near a fire in summer and a fire in winter, will know the difference.
The extreme cold on your outer clothing does give short term protection, while your clothing heats up from the fire.
But this video clip, the guy could very easily collapse from heat exhaustion, or just have the small rocks underneath him give way, and fall right into that lava flow.
Yes, he was showing off how close he could get and acting like it was nothing.
Have you ever stood in front of a kiln from 10 feet away? That was probably the most intense heat I’ve experienced.

Me too, I'm digging the steampunk theme. I first saw this when the creator made a tik tok about it forever ago. I'm glad to see how far it's come since then
I might just be tired but the "double tap" at 5:03 made me chuckle.
This looks like MYST level graphics , detail is so dense and beautiful. This is one of the few games i really would like to play.
Oh btw, i think there was a robot maker booth on the upper level of that first enemy driller, it was blue colored, but looked like the same construction and it had a timer going.
The story really reminds me of Jules Verne kinda stuff.

@24:00 - the weapons originally had hitscan, they removed it in the Combat-Update Jan 2021 and overhauled most of the weapons & hostiles cogs
@26:00 - thats a setup-controller, that allows you to save your active modules - and load them again

The game feels so immersive that you just want to explore - but that dang volcano is the Big Boss, I guess....
Is there an OVERALL mission? 🤔 I think that's ESSENTIAL - constantly doing hit and run looting will get boring quickly.

This game has a unique concept. I like it. I'm concerned though its not deep enough to hold my interest very long.
Gotta love Splatty's commentary. It's at least half the fun on this channel. Spreading around all that deep knowledge about geology and crack heads.

Wow! They've definitely put the work in on this one. Last time I saw it it looked really bare bones. Worth keeping an eye on for sure.

Even in EA it looks like one to keep an eye on.
Hey splatter you need copper scrap to make 10× copper ingots but if you pick the 5x copper ingot option doesn't need copper scrap it just needs coal and copper ore
i appreciate your personal experience being near lava lol. it made me think about how the rock we are hurling thru space on at 30km per second is also filled with liquid, molten rock at a temperature of thousands of degrees, thanx.
and we think living on this planet is somehow gonna end well for our species. the hubris of mankind is as infinite as it's own potential, how it plays out will be interesting
People get extremely close to the lava flows on Iceland these days.
Splat, Why are you not looting the bodies?
Also, remember the small storage chests are not connected to the main ship storage.
Those small worktables are self powered and take coal from your inventory to run.

It is/was a fun little space Minecraft-like, that was super easy to mod, but was abandoned shortly after builds started becoming available.
Over the years I've had to look around a couple times and I haven't been able to find a copy of it but I haven't tried the way back machine so... Anyway just putting it out there, maybe you could look it up and throw down on it just for some variety as it was pretty fun. Then along came StarMade, and I think perhaps that might be somewhat of a catalyst that led to the developer abandoning Corneroids.

Oh sweet ! this game keeps getting better and better, I specially approve of all the QoL improvements, great attention to detail and the player experience.
Listening to a geologist turned youtuber begs one question. Is that copper ore Malachite of something else? Are the ores in this game accurate or not, because that can make or break the mining section of a game. Too many games ruin my immersion with bad ores.
Tldr:
Subnautica on an active volcano
Great game. Just finished playing through the whole thing with about 26 hours on record. It’s worth the time and money if your into this type of thing. Some ppl are, some ppl aren’t. Then of course you have your critics.

Yes everything does look like you could very easily loose a finger from the big moving parts. The robots seem to be talking amongst themselves, I'm curious about their backstories and feel a strong wish to engage them in conversation.
I'm like 6 minutes in and can tell that Splat really doesn't like the "Take All" button.

Played this with a friend, and finished the story (I think?). It was a buggy and frustrating mess for much of our experience. The way robots attack your ship from different angles that often result in your ship defenses not working and getting destroyed... to cheese tactics where you can't possible get hurt....
It was just an all around bad experience and not something I would recommend to people.
It is being developed by a single person so bugs are to be expected. Give it time and it will get better.@indierich on Tik Tok if you wanted to let him know what the bugs were.

To be fair, I thought Volcanoids was "fully released" until I just checked and apparently still flagged as EA. So my initial statements might have been a bit harsh for EA title. Hopefully it isn't one of those "EA-4-Life" games. It has promise!

eh... you got the wrong script for the game. They lived here. Robots came. They left. Now they came back to fight.
You can remote your drill and hide in mines or basement during volcano. You can submerge with no door. And it will not leave with you inside.
