It's not complicated: No heroes/operators, no over-the-top non-military themed skins, tons of weapons, weapon customization similar to Delta Force, focus on immersion, great audio, & stable servers. Basically just the BF3 / BF4 vibes but with weapon customization, no heroes/operators, & no ugly skins.

People should've learned to not pre-order after 4. But people have been failing this lesson more and more with each entry. It's like everyone forgot the 6 miserable first months of BF4 where servers, hitboxes and more were broken.
It's really hard to tell but I thought it looked a little "light". I always loved the weighted real feel of BF3/4/1. Hope you are right and the movement/gunplay feels weighty and real like the old days.
Don't forget these two things: 1. Hype is manufactured to be manipulative, and DICE (for better or worse) makes incredible trailers. 2. One of the top leads at DICE (leading the BF franchise) has a history with the COD series and he's been wanting BF to be more like COD for years now. Remember what they did with 2042 when it launched: hero shooter, no classes, stupid cosmetics and battlepasses. As a long time fan of the franchise, I've openly skeptical for every release since BF4.
Vince Zampella when the news about BF 2025 first broke specifically mentioned traditional classes and no specialists. He also talked about the BF3/BF4 era.

I sent 240 bucks for two ultimate versions of the game of 2042. Trash and wanted my money back. And then when I tried to play the ultimate version of the game I couldn't play. 😢 BF 3 WAS KING OF BF. If EA wants my money this time, like Cap said at our trust first then maybe we'll give you money.

Still remember being blown away by the new additions to the system when I got an invite to the closed alpha for BF3. The map was Operation Metro, though missing a lot of sound and graphics. Even then, the level transition concept felt pretty wild. And as a support I was particularly stoked by the addition of suppression. So the next game taking cues from 3 is pretty exciting to me.

Agreed. There was no "one-man army." The Squad members needed to work together. The medic couldn't destroy tanks, etc. From the BF3- and BF4 something went wrong. The EA and the Dice wanted to attract COD players, which is why the BF turned to a more casual/arcade style.
They absolutely should play it safe. If the game is simply a very polished and stable version of BF3 but with 2025 visuals the community would probably be very happy.
The only “lesson” there will be shareholders learning that battlefield isnt worth green lighting in future, or at the very least, not worth polishing and listening to community feedbaxk

One thing I liked that I noticed about the trailer it appears they are ditching the preset operators hopefully it’s going to be a more personalized/ deep customization player build
I just want to say to DICE: I was ADDICTED to BF3 as a teenager and i still play it from time to time as an adult. I've never had more fun in any other video game ever. I think what got me so intrigued with this game is that it had (in my opinion) is the freedom to figure out how you want to play a map/game-mode without being limited to the repetitive Spawn -> Move towards objective -> Skirmish -> Die... When I played with a bunch of friends on Discord we'd always discover a new strategy to play the game with. Bottom line is that I get why they bloated the newer games with more attachments/weapons/weird movements/etc.. But this is such a fine line to walk when developing a game, to have enough features to keep the players intrigued but not to many features so the game won't feel like BF2042 (too much of everything). I'd like to see the new BF game going back to the roots, where it belongs :)

@@alphasierrabravo5905 I didn’t say anything like that last time. I wasn’t hyped for 2042 at all. I knew that shit was gonna be ass. The small clips here actually felt like battlefield 3. Yeah I know it’s not much and we can’t really base anything off of the small amount of footage here. But it threw me back in time for a minute and it was nice

The sniping was TOP TIER. All the guns felt heavy and had some kick. Would love to see that era come back
Agreed. There was no "one-man army." The Squad members needed to work together. The medic couldn't destroy tanks, etc. From the BF3- and BF4 something went wrong. The EA and the Dice wanted to attract COD players, which is why the BF turned to a more casual/arcade style.
The more hyped you get the more disappointed you'll be come launch. You've been warned.

It will be set to “Extreme-Low” by default.
They absolutely should play it safe. If the game is simply a very polished and stable version of BF3 but with 2025 visuals the community would probably be very happy.

This is the first Battlefield I am looking forward to since Battlefield 1. Let's just hope the game is not a hot mess like it has been the last decade.

the movement animations and lack of movement screen shake is very concerning to me. Looks very stiff, just like 2042's movement is. I hope they fix this
There were only a few seconds of footage, and i doubt you can show off animations and movement tech in that amount of time

Battlefield is absolutely my favorite online fps.
When Battlefield 6 comes out, everyone will hate it. Our feeds will be filled with content creators hyping up the hate train. And then, when the next Battlefield after that is released, the mood will completely change. Now everyone will love Battlefield 6, and your feed will be filled with videos with titles like:
"Was Battlefield 6 THE BEST Battlefield EVER?"
"Coming BACK to Battlefield 6!"
"This game WAS SO UNDERRATED!!"

Or a new batch of BF geeks? Both? I really like the old ones, including Bad Company. They were insane and great gaming experiences. And its pace was more than fast enough for me.
I really hope they make this work. Been too long since we had a good BF game.

im no bf expert or fanboy by any stretch of the imagination, but 2042 seemed to be literally a lot of what u said. back to the modern era which was a favorite of the community, ode to the fans of all the games with the bf portal or whatever it was called, and the jet rpg maneuver in the trailer. theres prob a lot more im missing, but regardless. we all saw what happened.
One thing I liked that I noticed about the trailer it appears they are ditching the preset operators hopefully it’s going to be a more personalized/ deep customization player build
I just want to say to DICE: I was ADDICTED to BF3 as a teenager and i still play it from time to time as an adult. I've never had more fun in any other video game ever. I think what got me so intrigued with this game is that it had (in my opinion) is the freedom to figure out how you want to play a map/game-mode without being limited to the repetitive Spawn -> Move towards objective -> Skirmish -> Die... When I played with a bunch of friends on Discord we'd always discover a new strategy to play the game with. Bottom line is that I get why they bloated the newer games with more attachments/weapons/weird movements/etc.. But this is such a fine line to walk when developing a game, to have enough features to keep the players intrigued but not to many features so the game won't feel like BF2042 (too much of everything).
I'd like to see the new BF game going back to the roots, where it belongs :)
