Hi Pritam, I have 6 years of experience in incident management, but the fact in backend that you revealed its outstanding, now I want to become a Servicenow admin in next few month InshaAllah.
Hi Pritam, hoping you´re doing well. Question: Do Sys Ids get captured in update sets? Will the Sys_id change when moving the update set from source to target instance? or they remain the same?
Yes, Sys IDs are captured in update sets. However, they do not remain the same when moving the update set from source to target instance. When you move an update set to another instance, the target instance creates new records with new, unique Sys IDs. The original Sys IDs from the source instance are not preserved. Hope it gets clear now 🤓
Hey 👋 I think I have opened another servicenow instance in the incognito mode so that I can show you how you can transfer updates using update set from one instance to another 🤓
Hey..great!! Good luck.. Also I have a CSA exam preparation playlist where you can practice 135+ questions that are important for the CSA exam. Once you done with this course you can join the channel..👍👍
Thanks Pritham for user friendly videos, Could you help to understand how do we get dev, test and production instances separately when buying service now licence for an organisation? Will they share different instance links with username and password like how we get developer instance.
Hey !! Well as per my understanding the links will be different for sure!! Maybe you can go with custom URL for Test and VAL but username and password would be different 🤓
Good job Pritam. Now, what if in our Development Instance, the incident table's form fields were LESS than the form fields of the Production Instance. Say, Prod Incident table form had a field called " Region" but Dev instances table forms don't have it. Will the Update Set be successful since we are adding a UI Action to incident table with conflicting form fields? If not, how do we reconcile those conflicts?
Hey 👋 Good question 👍 So in dev instance when you Re creating the ui action and the region field you need to make sure you are capturing the same in an update set!! Cause if the field is not present in the PROD then the UI action wont work! However with update set it will move to PROD but it wont work 🤓
the changes or things done before creation of update will not be included in the retrieved update set right? I haven't other instance to practice it but I have understood it. Appreciate efforts.
The changes or things you are doing before creating an update set would be saved in default update set, so yes it won’t be moved 🤓 Keep watching and keep learning 👍👍
@@andrewfielden284 hey 👋 Moving update sets between instances is already in place!! But committing update set is something needs to be done manually as the error could come up and that couldn’t be deal with Scripting 🤓

Hi Sandhya..yes you can get job in Servicenow..see servicenow is very powerful tool..if you learn it properly and get the certificate CSA and update the CV then definitely you are going to get job on servicenow.

Once update set has been merged and completed in production. Then, does it will automatically flipped back to default update set in DEV environment? Because initially we were having default update set and set we created new update set DevChanges for capturing UI action/button. Please help with some explanation on this. Thanks.
Hey!! So when you are doing configuration changes in the DEV, updates are already being stored in the selected update set.. Now once you are done and making your update set state as complete then automatically the update set changes to default.

Hello Pri, why should we change Dev instance to incognito mode??
Hey 👋
I think I have opened another servicenow instance in the incognito mode so that I can show you how you can transfer updates using update set from one instance to another 🤓
K. There is no need to open it in an incognito mood. Just to differentiate between the instances u have done it so, right?
Yes right 😇

Hey Pritam, can you please tell me the name of plugin you installed to get table name and backend field name beside each field and tables
In chrome , you can search with SNutils extension and install it. So that you can use it pdi to get backend values on form level.
Yes thats correct, the plugin name is SNutils 🤓

Yes that is correct for retrieving update set. 👍
