@@KingsterLovey as the child of abuse, myself. That was truly the hardest yet most understandable part of the trial. That poor kid knew no better than the crap pie of an existence they gave him. This is why their actions were so extremely despicable. As adults, I feel they knew exactly what traumas they were causing. Kind of feel they may not know just how lucky they were, to have been found out.
I don't understand why they even adopted him. Did they have some kind of savior complex? And when they didn't get the validation they wanted they turned him into a prisoner. I hope this young man can thrive in life after this ordeal.
Narcissistic families, our society is made of these types of people. They have rage inside due to also being raised by narcissistic people who do not offer empathy to a child and this creates monsters who learn to blend in and look the part.
It's tough to watch but the jury got it right. This was not a parenting mistake. This was abuse and neglect and these parents were both awful to this child. They did not show any love and they should've gotten him HELP or given him to a family that would.
Yeah exactly. I think we will be seeing many more of these cases as our perceptions shift of what is and is not child abuse... I mean we have only had child protection laws since the 1970's before that child abuse was not perceived as illegal or wrong, and in fact was kind of the norm .
Hearing the child screaming in that box with no light got to me . As former CPS isolation is abuse . Isolating him to the abuse is very traumatic to the other children as well. He really created an environment that will hurt these children for the rest of their lives .
Why was it tough to watch ? It was tough to hear the child screaming in the dark in that box in the garage . He knows he is the only one being targeted for the abused . Asking himself why am I not lovable ?

I was raised in the fifties... shared same sized room w my two sisters in a full sized bed... rarely allowed out. The bedroom door had no lock but when we were sent there, we were not allowed out unless called to do chores... the other choice was to be locked outside to 'play' in both winter and summer. Many days nothing to eat but ketchup sandwiches ... no school lunch or milk money. Beaten w the belt or belt buckle. There were 4 of us and no one spoke about what went on in our house. I was responsible for my siblings and housework by age 8 made to quit school at the beginning of my senior yr bc my mother left w my half sister [ she was an alcoholic / had an affair ] and I had to go to work and give my paycheck to my father to supplement her lost income... my sister followed a yr later. I am now a retired Rn. We all turned out fine. Our neighbors could hear our screams and no one did a thing. I'm glad 70+ yrs later things are different for children and hope this guy gets what he deserves.
He will be lucky to get the LUXURY OF A SINK, toilet 🚽 & LIGHT till 9pm, atleast he will have a dim light to see in his new hole. He is officially Dad in a box! They might want to keep him in 23hr lock - P.C. Because these types of charges - the inmates Do NOT LIKE.

This guy made one poor decision after another. Put a boy in a box. Recorded conversations and video of the boy in box. Didn't take the plea deal. We are all just victims of every decision we make in our lives.
He wasn’t very smart , he thought he could get away with it not realizing all ring footage is stored by Ring . We didn’t see half of it . I’m shocked it took them that long
Hilarious when the defense attorney asks the judge to allow her client to remain free. Ironic. Something the defendant didn’t think a young boy deserved. I don’t think the judge had any other choice given that this case was (in part) about false imprisonment.
They offered him two years and a few months but he turned it down. His arrogance, entitlement to do what he did to that child, and lack of remorse did him in.
I noticed that during the entire trial, both his and her facial expressions were just blank/bland/unfeeling. Not even during the sons testimony....until today. Suddenly they show fear and sadness.
A example needs to be set to avoid other people like these individuals doing the same. They have also ruined their biological children’s life with their cruel behaviour to this boy.
I was looking at Tim's history and noticed he and his family moved quite a bit. I'm wondering if keeping their behavior secret had something to do with it.
Yes~They had a home here not too far from us, in Phoenix Metro area...when the Real Estate Agent went to list that home for sale, there was also a "Box Room" there!!
I did his family tree to find out more about his past and I agree that it's unlikely he learned this behavior as a child. The family has got to be reeling.@@asitfestersmetal-band482
Sending prayers for this poor child that suffered from abusive 'parents'. They do not deserve to be called parents. I pray for him to get counseling. May he grow and flourish and lead a healthy life.
I wish the attorney had asked why the boy didn’t tell his teachers about the abuse? Had he been threatened not to tell? Had the parents ever sought help for him since they claim he made trouble at school, stealing etc? Did no one ever think that his causing trouble was his way of trying to get recognition and someone to be interested enough to talk to him about home life etc. The other children said nothing to their piers or teachers about their brother living in a box?
Now, HE can sit in a smaller cage !!! What they did was horrific 😢. I pray so much the children will be strong, safe and happy the way intended for all children. 💜💜💜
He'll never regret putting RF in the box because he's convinced himself he was in the right to do that, but you can be sure he's regretting not taking that 24 month plea deal.
Tim is a narcissist no doubt about it. Tracey was controlled by him but liked it. Their son was very gracious about them when he gave evidence considering the appalling conditions he was made to endure. I hope Tim gets a lengthy sentence as I don't trust that he wouldn't want to punish his son by blaming him for his current plight. As for her, she's no kind of mother so I hope she gets whatever is due to her. Hope all of their kids get through all of this and have a great future.
I'm glad that he was found guilty of all charges. That's let you know that no man or woman is above the. law. The state of foster children should be aware of who they foster children to. They may be human outside, but a devil within. MAY God continues to bless the children's mental health and care here on out for life.
International adoption unfortunately attracts ppl who, for different reasons, wants a very vulnerable child, to "own". Ppl who adopt internationally only have a little more money than those who fosters. That s the only difference. Ppl who adopt internationally often wants to be seen as "saviours" and the nonwhite child brings attention and makes them look humanitarian. Thats part of why. Its also the belief that they can "create" someone that will always obey and be inferior. Someone that fulfill their needs. They think its their right, and that cannot be questionned, they are entitled to do whatever to that child bc they paid for him. That is why Timmy does not understand what happened.
I watched this in real time ..He only shows emotion when he finds out he cant be out on bond while waiting for sentencing.I absolutely guarantee he planned on fleeing to Australia.
Thank god the jury got it right!! These people are cruel !! They are deserving of prison! And any of the family members who watch this go on should be ashamed of disgusting inhuman, cruel behavior, grandma, grandpa, sisters, brothers, friends! You saw this happening at some time or other.
I was tearing up when I heard this defendant verbally assaulting his son. I felt fear that I haven’t felt since being a child with a crazy mother. That poor boy having that barrage of abuse launched at him.
That guard knows the cameraman is there to film the convicted child abuser. One guard all of a sudden stands right in front of him on purpose. By what these 2 parent's were putting their son through is sometimes how/why kids turn into killers. This very way of punishment is horrible. The jury made a 100% the right verdict. His parents closed him off from his family, and even his siblings were use to their big brother being left out. His parents took every privilege away, including using the bathroom. They fed him just peanutbutter sandwiches for breakfast/ lunch, but at times, they would'nt give him food or water, and we all know how warm it can get in Florida. When ever either one of the parents communicated with him while he was in the box room was not helpful, neither one of them were interested in fixing the situation with him. Why did'nt they take him to a therapist, and then eventually to a family therapist? That to me would of been the sensible thing to do.There had to be something going on with he and his parents for him to have such a outburst in his regular bedroom when he really lost it and broke his things. There had to be something going on with the parents' relationship with their son regarding him breaking his things. All they wanted to do is control him treat him less than a human being and basically make him very miserably unhappy, probably until he turned 18 years old. Sitting in the dark is like solitary confinement. He might as well be put in prison. I am so grateful for the man who built the box room for reporting this, or it's pretty clear that the boy would still be sitting in that box room. I can't even imagine what his state of mind would be by the time he hit 18 years old. I think of these 2 parents as controlling and wanted revenge. This is'nt 2 loving parents to their son this is I hate you, and now I'm going to make you pay by making your life miserable, and that is exactly what they did. Mother dearests' turn is next. 😊
How could someone do this to a child? It is sometimes very tough with mental illness but he could have taken professional help for the little kid. The jury got it right.
He has had no emotion this whole trial, except when his son said everyone should just let them learn and move on. And with his wife. Neither he or his wife showed much emotion if any at all to all the yelling and put downs. Or the videos of their son in the box. Well now he gets to feel what it is like not to have a choice on leaving his room. I love how the defense says he doesn’t have a criminal record. Yes he does! He was just found guilty of a felony.
He is the definition of a psychopath, he has no reaction on his face... and he kept his adopted child in the house, while some dogs have better living conditions than that human being had had... justice has been served
I’m blown away thinking how this pair of people have so little insight into what they were doing. How did they think that the boys behavior would have convince a jury that it was enough for them to act this way? I don’t get it.
Nobody gets it because we are all normal human beings, trying our best to get along in life. The Ferriter parents are not normal. Their thought patterns are warped. We can never get our heads around the way a damaged mind works.
Narcissism makes one believe they are right, will be able to convince others of being right, and won’t make deals if they have to admit an ounce of guilt…. It’s the pride before the fall.
I'm so glad the jurors found Tim guilty. Hopefully Tracey is found guilty as well in her trial. Praying that RF recover from this horrifying experience. He's such a strong boy to testify bravely against his abusers! Sending him so much love & hugs! My heart aches for him and with him.
Not surprised how quick the jury reached a verdict. These parents became "obsessed" with this boy. They were on him for every single little thing, it was ridiculous. Too bad when the judge does the sentencing he could include solitary confinement for a week each month for the duration of his sentence.
You cant do this to children! No matter the ages, other ways to handle things. Dont hurt them, torture them nor murder them. Shame on you both! Im glad he was him (father) found guilty! She(mother) should be next

Even in prison they will have better living conditions than they provided for their child! It’s grossly disgusting!
I don't understand why they even adopted him. Did they have some kind of savior complex? And when they didn't get the validation they wanted they turned him into a prisoner. I hope this young man can thrive in life after this ordeal.
I presume a State financial incentive 🤔
Narcissistic families, our society is made of these types of people. They have rage inside due to also being raised by narcissistic people who do not offer empathy to a child and this creates monsters who learn to blend in and look the part.

It's tough to watch but the jury got it right. This was not a parenting mistake. This was abuse and neglect and these parents were both awful to this child. They did not show any love and they should've gotten him HELP or given him to a family that would.
It was not tough to watch he deserved exactly what he got
The absolute arrogance and self righteousness that this couple have is disgusting! They think they're better than that poor boy when it is the other way round, they don't deserve to parent any child !

I'm glad that he was found guilty of all charges. That's let you know that no man or woman is above the. law. The state of foster children should be aware of who they foster children to. They may be human outside, but a devil within. MAY God continues to bless the children's mental health and care here on out for life.
They adopted him from Vietnam as an infant.

You talk about the punishment fitting the crime! For once, it really does!
How could you not find him guilty?. He told on himself with the ring video. Unbelievable!!!
He is the definition of a psychopath, he has no reaction on his face... and he kept his adopted child in the house, while some dogs have better living conditions than that human being had had... justice has been served
