💦 Install a faucet on a plastic rainwater tank.

💦 Plastic tanks of 200 liters or even 250 liters are easily found second-hand. They often have plugs on the top but nothing to allow water drainage from the bottom. The plugs have a diameter of 6 cm, which makes accessing the bottom difficult. Here's how to simply install a brass bulkhead fitting without any hassle in just 10 minutes. I preferred brass because plastic tends to crack, especially in direct sunlight. In this video, I use this brass bulkhead fitting amzn.to/3sVqhDu , but you can also use this one amzn.to/3zClH0U , which I have on other tanks.
The only tool you need is a screwdriver. Personally, I love my little 12V Dewalt amzn.to/3sSTOOb .
For the rest, you can drill the tank using either this hole saw set amzn.to/3DZibjL or a step drill bit that allows for more precise diameters. It's available here amzn.to/3Ujount .
Then, you can screw a quick coupling onto your bulkhead fitting like amzn.to/3NteNkh , or alternatively, this type of faucet amzn.to/3Wp8oKS that comes with the bulkhead fitting. It has the advantage of rotating gently on itself to always remain vertical and provide a secure tightening. You quickly screw it in and then tighten the second ring to maintain the position.
For tightening, I use this strange wrench which is a compromise between a pipe wrench and an adjustable wrench, which is great for plumbing. It's available here amzn.to/3DXUrMK .
One last piece of advice, don't drill right at the bottom of the tank because it's not perfectly flat, and your bulkhead fitting will sit unevenly, causing leaks in that area. Of course, this means there will always be some water left in the bottom of the tank. You can see this as an advantage because that's also where debris will settle instead of going into the pipes.
