Here it is! The first Microtech video on the channel. The Ultratech is a fantastic, tried and true model that is sure not to disappoint! Thanks for tuning in, cheers!
I have had my Ultratech since 2019 I bought and spent the cash which to me is a bucket load on a knife, but the torture tests were the major selling point for me on these and the exceptional design and ergonomics of Microtech. I've had some issues before with misfiring when I disengage the lock..fire the knife But that was from having oil buildup and probably pocket lint causing that. I cleaned out the Ultratech properly and gave it just another good flush of rem oil and its kicking like a mule again..as good as the day I bought it. I have to add that everytime I do slight maintenance and give the Ultratech a good rem oil flush, the knife fires with authority and strong..good kick. They are really good tools and build character as they age. Do periodic maintenance and this knife will love you back.. Good review 👍 Do a torture test review next 😆
Excellent detailed review on some beautiful knives. Have you ever used the larger blade MicroTech OTF? Or used the clones? Keep the reviews on MicroTech's OTF coming.
Thank you! I've handled a combat troodon and a scarab, but haven't had the chance to carry or use them. I'll definitely be doing a review once I actually get one for myself! Thanks for watching!
Excellent ! Love the distressed red for edc. I'm currently on the fence about another, either bronze finish or stonewash. I have an original run fully serrated "Bounty Hunter" as a safe queen. It's Elmax and so we all the original batches. When the second batches of plain & combo edges came out they were using the CTS-XHP. Microtech was using M390 then Elmax then CTS-XHP and now it's been CTS-204. And of course they will switch it up depending on availability but that's the general cycle I have personally witnessed after they stopped using s35vn on earlier Microtechs. However the Star Wars series mostly Elmax & the second run Bounty Hunters were CTS. I inquired about this because I wanted to know if there was going to be any differences in first / second batches for a collectable standpoint. Originally it was only offered in serrated & that's really the only way to tell unfortunately. Oh do I regret not getting a Jedi Night or Jedi Master UTX. The green Jedi Master UTX-85 is the rarest of the Star Wars
Man, I love microtech, I have 10 of em, one of my favorites is my ultratech with the hellhound blade, idk really like my stitch, ludt, socom elite, brovo........there all my favorites😅
Also when the Combat Troodon came out, it was geared towards military personnel. Microtech wanted to win over a military contract & gain a NSN number. Basically it's a beefed up Ultratech. Same internal mechanism. Same x1 spring. Easier to deploy with gloves, with wet/muddy/bloody hands. Interesting enough they also had a military designed Scarcb (very similar to the Troodon) that was able to fully deploy & retract underwater.
It makes no sense why the troodon is more every time I go to buy a troodon I buy a combat troodon or another ultratech. The troodon don't seem priced right hundred more buy combat troodon or hundred less buy ultratech
the troodon is a better made knife....you get what you pay for with microtech every time. the button doesn’t rattle, it never misfires, the blade is thinner and fits tighter when deployed. feels better in the hand than the utx-85
Awesome man I just ordered my first microtech and it is the UTX-85 and it is such a great knife
That's super exciting! I hope you enjoy it, I'm sure you will!
Definitely some cool knives. Love the bounty hunter varient. Great review 👍
Thanks a lot! Can't go wrong with an ultratech 🤙

Thanks for sharing! Very very cool you've got the Elmax BH! Those are super special. Those jedi masters are very very cool knives. Cheers!
The CTS xhp versions are the best imo.

Hell yeah sounds like a killer collection
Troodon is more $$$ because of the series. The CT is 500 so they have to price it according to the series specs.
Thanks for the enlightenment! I didn't know that :)

Made it easy u compared my most recent knife purchase (bounty hunter) to my other 2 edc knives (para 2 and bugout) 🤣
Haha very glad to hear this!! Enjoy your bounty hunter!
The Troodon Is more expensive because of the milling in the handle.
I've since learned of this! Thank you for the comment 😁
I don’t know if it’s $100 worth of milling but it is what it is. Haha

Yeah man I've always wondered that too. I can't for the life of me justify why it's that much more expensive than the UT!
@@Icy_Knife_Reviews I held the regular troodon for first time wanted to buy it but it's so little for the money just bought another ultratech
@@justinhorn2864 Not a bad move! Can always go for more UTs

I am cooler.
You are buddy 😎
Robin is a tool if he needs a shotout.
Lmao! Can't complain though, he let me borrow his BH...
