I had a Groenendahl until 2012. He was named Rasta too! He was the light of my life and came travelling with me all over Europe, living in a truck. He never needed a leash. He was a superbly intelligent and loving companion. He could work hard too! He earned a good living as a night watchman on a huge gravel pit in Spain, patrolling the land while I kept cosy in my truck reading and studying Spanish. He had an incredibly loud bark so he rarely used it because having such big ears, it would hurt them! When we approached mountains and lakes he would yelp like a puppy to stop and climb or swim. They have massive personalities, don't they?
What beautiful memories, thanks for sharing ❤️ they truly are incredible dogs - someone once commented, and I couldn't agree more: "love in a black fur coat"
Thank you for the fantastic and exact info on the Belgian. I've had my boy for 4 years now and everything you said describes him exactly! Your babies are beautiful 🐾❤️ Thank you for your video🫶🏻
Ah, thanks so much for your lovely comment, you are very lucky to also own a Belgian, they're the best! Will definitely try making more dog videos soon🐾❤️🐾
Ah, I'm so sorry for your loss💔 i hope you can look back on the 13 years of good memories with your boy and find comfort in the fact that he chose you to share his life with!!!! Sending lots of love ❤️🐾❤️
My sister has a border Collie - Luna (she's in some of the other videos) she is by far faster than the Belgians, but they all get along so well together 🐾❤️🐾
Our first dog was a Groenendaeler, they are very special 🥰. They say, ones a Groenendaeler, alway a Groenendaeler, but it didn't turn out that way. A met a Malamute who was looking foor a 4the owner at tbe age off 8 y. Totaly different but also so sweet. Then a 10 year old German Shepherd, but only for a few weeks, because off a accident😪. Then another 8 year old Malamute who was looking for a 5the owner🙈. Also a incredible dog, he could speak. He died 2 months ago. I like to take an old one from a shelter, but it is hard to find an old Groenendaeler, but that is a good sign. Hoop you have fun for years with these 2.❤ . Grtz from Belgium
Ah, that's lovely, thanks so much for sharing your story❤️ The Groenendaels are amazing, but you sound like someone that has love for all dogs, and these dogs you took in were lucky to find you! (or perhaps you were lucky to find them😉) any dog, no matter the breed is a blessing 🙏😇. I hope you find another dog soon... Or they will find you❤️🐶❤️
I share my life with a 3 year old female Groenendael. I don't own her, we are partners and that is how I think when I,m out with her. We live in the country on an acreage adjacent to a wilderness park and she is never leashed, neither am I. I wanted a hearty, mid to large dog with good energy, easy to train, double- coated for the inclement weather, and I got my wish. She’s an absolute delight to be around, which is always. When we are out and about she is rarely ever more than 30 paces from me and I can recall her with a whistle, her name, or hand signals. When we hike off-trail, sometimes through the thicket, or when we need to scramble, she'll go ahead, stand, and wait for me to catch up. She's a little mountain goat she is! I love her immensely! Cheers!!!
Ah, thanks so much for sharing your story! She sounds like the perfect partner!!! It also sounds like you are very lucky to be living out in the country! What a dream!! I wish you many more special years with your perfect pup! ❤️🐶❤️
@@francesleader2746 I train for Marathons with them but yesterday I took them for a 25km run and I think it’s too much for them. They refused to move today. 😂 After playing 30 minutes in the garden they went back in and slept. Normally we run 10km daily and do 1 to 2 hours agility training. On the evening my sister plays mental stimulation games with them, Enzo loves playing Chest.
That's interesting as Jack, my Groenendael, hardly barks at all. The only time he really barks is when a person is at the door. If someone is just close by at home, he gives a really low single woof, then runs up to me and lies down and points in the direction the humans are. Then it's up to me to go look, in which he will enthusiastically follow. Also Jack is extremely calm by small dogs, but will chase one that is running around. He is not the best with small children who try to approach him.
Your Jack is highly energetic, yet so well behaved! so impressive! I wish Raven and Rasta could be less vocal, as they can be quite noisy when going for walks :)

I love groenendaels. They seem to be a lot of work, but it also feels like you forget they are.
They are the best dogs! So much character! The love and loyalty received from them far outweighs the work put into them. Totally worth it! ❤️❤️
Merci pour ces vidéos....❤
Ma chienne de 2 ans "Holà " est aussi mon grand amour...
Quelle race magnifique!
I just lost my half Belgian-half GSD boy of 13 years. He was my shadow and I miss him every day. I enjoyed this vid so much.

I have had two groenendaels--but not simultaneously! Thanks for posting your videos.
"Love in a black fur coat" I LOVE that!!! ❤️❤️Couldn't be more true!!! (might have to ask your permission to use that as a video title😂😂)
Anyone who has ever been owned by one of these wonderful dogs knows it is true! You are welcome to use it!
Their movements and energy reminds me of my border collie- but they're bigger and look like a wolf. So cool!

They are basically Malinois with less energy. Really stunning dogs.
Thanks, yep you right! Im grateful they don't have as much energy as the Malinios, coz I don't think I could keep up😂😂
@@shelleyhillier I have 2 Malinois 😂

Hi ma’am, it’s me, Mason 4e5😊now 5e4😊
Hey Mason, was great to see you today!! 🤗
I love these dogs but ideally would love them more with about half the energy & neediness. =p
😂 True, they are quite needy😂 but worth it!!! 💛
Maybe a schipperke then
