I was at Ravenglass a few months ago,had a go on la'al ratty but never had a chance to have a look the roman bath house & village but definitely going back.
Very good, was just here today with the fam enjoyed it,never been to the Roman baths before,it's a nice walk up to them too if the weather's nice, keep them coming Paul 👍
Lovely video, thank you! 😊 I camped at the Ravenglass C&CC site some years ago, took the trip on lal Ratty 👍, but somehow missed the Roman remains 🤷🏼♀️
Good video. The name Itunocelum is a bit of an odd one, because Ituna was the Roman name for the River Eden, (the linguistic connection is obvious) which is in north Cumbria, flows through Carlisle and discharges into the Solway Firth.
I would say so. There’s a number of interesting things in the area. As well as the village itself, there is the ravenglass & eskdale railway and nearby Muncaster castle. 😀👍🏻
Both the Castle and the railway are worth a day to themselves,The Railway has some lovely walks at the other end and a very scenic run, The Castle has an amazing Owl and Hawk display and the tour round the Castle is great.
Here’s an interesting thing…I used to go here an awful lot because my father ran camping trips here for the school he was the headmaster of. Anyway, opposite the Roman bath house (across the track) I distinctly remember finding a Roman mosaic covered in undergrowth. This was 1977. I went back around 2005/6 but couldn’t find it. I don’t think I imagined it…aged 7 it didn’t seem like a big deal🤣. And boring compared to the railway…
Thanks Paul. We really enjoy your vlogs. We are from Auckland, New Zealand, and we hope when Covid is over, to visit Cumbria!
Thank you Joanie😀. Fingers crossed everything will be back to normal very soon and we can all start travelling easily again.

Thank you. Will do. 😀👍🏻
I'm heading up on Friday to take part in a Royal British Legion Castaway charity adventure. Nice to know where I'm headed. Thank you.
Fantastic. Best of luck. 👍🏻😀
as always very informative and interesting. I always enjoy your content thank you. Have you done a Maryport video?
Thanks Paul. 😀I have done an aquarium video, but I have not done a Maryport town video yet. It is on my to do list though. 👍🏻

Thanks Sue. 😀👍🏻 Yes the remains of the bath house are out of the way a bit and not particularly well publicised. You have to go looking for them.
