'Saving the Hazel Dormouse' is a short documentary exploring the plight of the hazel dormouse in the UK, following the stories of conservationists racing against time to save them from extinction.
The Hazel Dormouse is an iconic species of our woodlands in the UK, with their population teetering on the edge of extinction, with a 70% decline since 2000.
Since 1993, over 1,000 dormice have been reintroduced into woodlands across the UK by Wildwood Trust, Peoples' Trust for Endangered Species and partners, as part of our annual reintroduction programme.

Such a lovely tiny critter. Every creature has a role to play in their ecosystem…and many of the smallest are so important. These bridges are being in the USA as well…makes such a difference.
