.......Melissa,...your collection is growing and getting more mature everyday.......its really coming into its own. I love your mounts, and I really love the pots with holes you use...the only growers that dont burn an orchid leaf are the ones that dont try and give them enough sunshine......keep doing what you do....its working so well.
@@Melissa-loves-orchids ....Melissa I use about 10-12 drops in 1/2 gallon....so adjust from there.......anytime it rains on them spray them with Calmag......anytime you flush them ....spray them with calmag.....Using it occasionally you wont notice much difference.......use it on a regular basis and they turn into jungle plants......It helps stops root tip die back, new shoots from going bad, brown tips on leaves like oncidiums, bud blast, etc......it makes canes, bulbs, leaves, roots etc....grow bigger and it also makes them pest resistant.....I love your videos,... your smile when your sitting in your pergola,....and especially your enthusiasm when orchid shopping, and showing your collection....
The low stadium shelves against the wall looks great and I hope the plants don’t blow over as much there. Great. 🤗And you might think about adding a misting system on a timer to handle the hot FL days 🥵
Yes please! I would love it!! Yes yes yes anything you don’t want I’ll be happy to take. lol. Your babies are doing very well and I love taking care of them.
HI Karen usually a moist paper towel will do the trick. If it doesn't clean easy then I add a couple drops of lemon. For NOvelty Phals, I use clorox wipe.
I am not sure that mounting is the best choice for Bulbophyllums? They need a lot of moisture. You might want to try to put it in one of Josh’s water Lilly dish. That’s where all of mine are with a mixture of tree fern and spagnum moss. But, Nelson would be a better source😍
What do you mean you were hoping the "bad news" Oncidium would do better but is growing keikis??? Those are new growths (Oncs don't do keikis) and they are a good sign! Severely shriveled old bulbs generally don't plump up again, they put their energy and water towards future growth where it counts the most. It doesn't mean your care is ineffective or that the plant is doomed.
The dancing Lady oncidiums were shriveling up and dying and then I see tiny new growth. SO I was seeing then dying and then it seemed to regenerate. I was feeling like that was telling me that it is not a good place for them. What do you think?
Melissa your collection is getting so beautiful. Great care shown.
Thank you so much!
Great idea for the trellis. Love it.When it is blooming, it will look wonderful.
Yes, thanks can't wait!!

Thank you Rick!! I'm definitely being generous with the calcium. How much Calimagic would you add in a gallon?

Maybe one of those roll up shade blinds where orchids on white trellis wall are getting alot of sun, or shade cloth would help protect them.
That's a great idea.
Beautiful collection, thanks for sharing.

I had her in a pot before and she was declining. So them someone suggested mounting. I'm so confused with this one. I will mention it to Nelson. Thx
Do you put all those holes in terracotta pots yourself?
Nope I bought those at RF orchids down in Homestead. I love them!
You don't soak them with fertilizer?
I usually don't soak b/c there are too many to soak. And I don't want to risk disease.
Have you ever grown in Lava rock? Rick l orchids has success growing in lava rock, plus fertilizer tips.
Yes, I have many in lava rock. I have some mixed but mainly lava rock. It is difficult now in the heat b/c I'm watering every day.
