  • Beautiful old historic house built in 1903. Later on in 1917, a large 2nd story porch was added. This was originally home too the town’s doctor and was actually added too the National register of historic places in the 1980’s or 1990’s but sadly has sat vacant for the last 20 years. Hopefully this beautiful historic old house will be saved and restored. Thank you for watching! Hope you enjoyed!

I love this house..I grew up in a house that looked almost just like this one..in the deep south..S Carolina..Daddy would buy a house that was almost falling down and turn it into a master piece. Sell it and find another one to bring life back into..then we would move again..we probably moved 10 or more times..wow, I had to wipe my eyes with this one..thank you for this video..

JoAnne, Your Daddy was a house flipper in your youth. No such title then, but all the rage now. You probably learned more from him & his methods than most kids do now. The advent of technology steals hands-on learning from current generations. Apprenticeship taught so much that has since been lost. Treasure those memories JoAnne.

Just an idea I'd like to share and if anyone can make it a reality, then run with it. A companion program we'll call, " If This House Could Talk " a bit in the style of Henry Louis Gates, Finding Your Roots, only someone researches the original owners and tells their story, with photos from the home's early days, maybe stretching the story through all the owners, ending with the reason for it's current state. Would be a huge undertaking, but I'm sure thousands would watch. Just a thought, love these tours. Thanks Kappy for all your hard work.

This home is privately owned since at least 2016 by a non profit organization who has have been trying for many years to get funding to restore it. Historical guidelines increase the amount needed when restoring homes on the Historical register. The doctor lived in this home for 30 years before passing in 1945. It was then occupied by his son and daughter-in-law until the mid 1970's. Preserve Arkansas had been trying to raise awareness of this home in the hopes of saving it but with holes in the roof the structure is deteriorating quickly.

If only I had money…😂 it looks like it was used for offices of some sort possibly…that little porch upstairs that had the magazine rack…that’s like what you see in a Drs office. I’m guessing the reason the tub was flipped over is to get the feet since they were missing…This so bothers me that these places are just forgotten about, especially if they are on the historic register. Why are so many of these beautiful Southern homes abandoned and unloved? This one is magnificent and it would be a travesty to let it fall further into disrepair. So sad. Gill 🇬🇧

Because it is miles and miles from anything , looks ok but is rotten shels of paint and unpractical for modern living - or would you like to carry buckets of water from the well or river 2moles away , or to light candles at night - think !!!!

What a magnificent find! From the rooms with beautiful colors that appear to be more recently painted it appears someone was trying to renovate it. I certainly hope that it can be saved. And about that peacock wallpaper: I love it ! Thanks for sharing another great exploration!

Those columns inside look like they were added later as I believe there must have been a bearing wall removed from that location and the columns were put there for support. The side room looked like a waiting room with all the magazines in the rack on the wall. The columns on the front of the house were attached in a strange way looking at the tops of them. Thanks for sharing Kappy....👍

I find it extremely tragic, sad that the history of such a property is not more valued to be able to pass down to worthy ones who do value history. It is amazing. Thanks for sharing. In Joy

Hi Kappy 😁This is one spectacular home, love the stairway in a nice curved swirl down to the bottom. I jump for you finding double porches one above and below. A while back I was writing a story about a place to visit in Arkansas,I made up a name and found it on the map, this looks like how I described a house in it.A lot of my stories should become movies this place would be perfect to use. Also you found more gems near the end of your video that some others I can recognize that you’ve also had shown. The style of these old beauties are marvelous works of art .💖✅👍🥰

Hello KAPPY 💜 love from down Under Australia ⛱️🦘. Beautiful home, looks like someone tried keeping up maintenance to a certain degree, by painting the walls as their not flaking off everywhere. The front door knows were they BRASS back in the day that may have needed polishing??? I love wallpaper in old places & the painted rooms, a new family needs to breathe new life in here, fill it full of children & laughter. THANK 🙏 YOU KAPPY FOR SHOWING US ALL THIS STUNNING HOME 😍

Love the wall paper in the upstairs hall way and bathroom. They probably flipped the bath tub to get the claw feet off of it, some peoples kids. Also, I really like the ceiling fan on that bid upstairs porch. Sit out there in the evenings and enjoy life. Have a great day

Hi Kappy I really enjoyed this house tour, the downstairs was my favourite part of the house 🏠 loved the design and decor, also I loved the cabinets especially the one in the hall with the glass, it looked beautiful 🤩 brilliant for displaying items. This house had a balcony which would of been very cool. I liked the room where you could display all of the magazines which would be nice. It was cool going upstairs in to the attic to see was their anything interesting up there. 🤔🙋‍♂️

I really like that you narrow in on the house details like the structural parts and history. A lot of other old house explorers focus too much on the trash and graffiti left behind. 😊

I can see in my mind how I would use the rooms downstairs. The area inside front door would be a good reception/sitting area. There aren’t so many rooms that it would be overwhelming. It could be a nice family home again with money and work. Fireplaces and I thought I saw a transom over one of the doors. Great old place.
