@@OFFTHEGRIND*especially* with something like a rock! Just arrived at your channel. Loved the film, but this response to the comment is the reason I just subscribed. Awesome! Greetings from the UK; looking forward to working through the back catalogue. Thanks in advance for taking the time to produce this content. 👍
I can't get over that first camp, man! Beautiful country out there, thank you for bringing it to us. Over all amazing trip, made worth it by the smile on the little ones face when you give him his rock
Long time viewer, first time commenter. Your drone shots are amazing! I live very near this area (I've fueled up at that same gas station many times) and I am always on the lookout for you on the trails! I try to get out and explore a new trail every weekend. These lava fields are next on my list!
I just found your channel. This one is absolutely great Bronco and Oregon content. A year ago my employer sent me to Bend for Safety training. I fell in love with the area and took a day to see Multnomah Falls and then meet up with an old friend in Oregon City. The areas I saw from my drive grabbed me with their beauty and novelty and vibrant soul. The New Hampshire boy can't wait to get back out there and get off the grid...and off the grind.
Thank you so much! Yeah Oregon is incredible and I’m glad you got the opportunity to explore it a little while you were there. Definitely have to make it back there when you can
We stopped at John Day last year on the way to Bend. Totally agree, not worth a dedicated trip, but definitely a must see if it's on your route. We just got back from a 2 week trip to Utah, have Overland Expo PNW coming up, but man, I want to make it out to the Owyhees for sure. We did our very first "overlanding" on the way back by taking part of the Utah BDR home. It was the most fun I think I've ever had. Definitely got the bug for sure. And yours and Venture2Roam and TSTN, amongst others, definitely have inspired me to get out there and just explore. Keep up the great content! 👊
That first campsite looked amazing. Hoping to visit that area in the future for sure and dang man, making me want to do some solos now haha. Awesome video David and your son’s reaction was priceless 🙌🏽
Thanks for the great video David. You're quite fortunate to have such an amazing area not far from you. It's on my list for sure. You should see if you could get Ursa Minor to sponsor you one of their pop tops. 😉 And ohhh.... that Shawn. I've actually been considering a building a rig with a Pop up.
Thanks so much! And yeah I am very fortunate to live in this part of the country. I’d love to try an Ursa Minor honestly. They look so freaking awesome.
Lovely videos! I want to start doing overland with my new Black Diamond Bronco. As you know, this model doesn’t have front lockers. Do you think this is essential to go to places similar as yours? How often do you use the front locker option? Thank you so much in advance!
Just depends on what kind of wheeling you're doing. I don't have a Bronco yet, I have a Cherokee Trailhawk with a rear locker and I barely use that. When off-roading like this video, you barely use the lockers. Lockers really help out though on more like rock crawling or very slippery conditions that you're going at steep angles at. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask!
Most of the time I never use the lockers honestly. It is pretty rare that I actually have to use them. I did a video called “caught trespassing” where I had to use the front locker. I tried the rear locker first and it didn’t help. But it’s very rare to actually have to use them depending on how hardcore you are
Coming from a hiker perspective/bias, these RUclipsrs, like this one and Venture 2 Roam (both recently left jobs to pursue this) are leaving quite a bit on the table by limiting themselves to the roads only. Now, their vehicles are very capable, and what saves them could be the drones, but honestly the fact that they don't (to my knowledge) start exploring by foot (5 minute walks don't count lol ), reach different local high points, get different perspectives angles is very surprising...maybe it's just something new to them and didn't realize how much it would enhance not only the channels but most importantly their own experience. Just a suggestion :-) PS. I enjoy these shows regardless :-)
You’re not wrong. I can only speak for me personally, but I have a bad knee and messed up lower back, so hiking just hurts for me. As much as I’d love to explore on foot more, it’s a balance of seeing what I can while managing pain. I am going to add a bike in my adventures to be able to get out and explore further though. But thanks, I’m glad you still enjoy them!
Where is that lake you started the video next to? We are in eastern Washington and it looks like it would be close to us. Would love to take my Bronco there.
Hey man great video! I recently installed the Trailrax with packrac on my four door Bronco. But after driving with some weight on it for the first time, I’ve noticed a big increase in squeaking noise coming from the back shell. Has this been your experience? Love the rack just want to address the new noises.
Thanks! No that’s has not been my experience at all actually. I’m assuming you put the cushion strips between the plate and the body panel right? That’s the only thing I could think of. Also possible that something loosened up after the first outing
Really enjoy watching your videos. You seem like a really cool and sincere person and you have awesome videography Chopps. Would love to collaborate sometime if you’re ever open to it! I live in Vegas, but I want to do a trip this fall up to Owyhee! Hit me up if you’re open to a joint trip sometime! Cheers!
Real question... how do you #2 out there? Do you have a composting toilet? dig a hole? ASMR coffee is great but we all know you immediately ran to the restroom... somewhere. lol
Why is it channels like yourself and Venture2Roam go out and profit off of these areas with your movies but you never promote or make a video about helping out the Blue Ribbon Coalition who fights to keep this stuff open. Last week they started putting up all the new gates and closed most of the side roads. All the RUclipsrs are no where to be found when you could use your channel to spread awareness of what BLM is closing
I agree David is the worst..please don't put me in the same sentence as Off The Grind. Eww. Kidding aside - closing trails is a serious issue...one that's not solved in the comment section on youtube.
RUclipsr here. I specifically ran a trail that’s being shut down to promote action to fight the closure. I got so much hate in the comments from people blaming me for the closure that I won’t ever do it again. RUclips commenters who blame RUclipsrs for every problem are the reason I won’t. That being said, I’m pretty sure David had a video talking about it just a month or two ago.
BRC efficacy is questionable at best. To my knowledge they’ve won nothing they have pursued and seem to be a way for the owner to make money, given his high salary. I would rather donate straight to BLM and national forest service (as I have done) then send money to an organization like that. I know it’s super easy to place the blame RUclipsrs for places getting shut down. But the fact is me and my friends do so responsibly and show the importance of cleaning up after yourself and others and recreating by using the tread lightly principles. But I do understand. They are one of the few groups that are trying to do anything. I just can’t get behind them personally
@@OFFTHEGRIND Thanks for the answer. And for clarification I wasn’t blaming RUclipsrs for the closures just wondering why we never see any standing up or making the public aware of attending meetings. Donating to BLM is like giving the enemy ammo in a war. It is the Blue plan of our Government who are running this agenda. Trust me I spent a lot of years on the wheel and know what happens in the Halls. Appreciate you taking the time to offer up your side of it. This often comes up in a Fireside chat at big Overland get togethers so wanted to get an answer straight from the source
@paularmost8671 I think it’s a matter of being under funded and personnel shortage which leads to trails being shut down. At least that is my opinion which is why I donate and encourage responsible exploring. I see that as the solution. Doesn’t mean we can’t all try every approach to helping, this is just the way I feel if effective

His cinematography has improved exponentially! Beautiful and dynamic shots. Congratulations from Brazil!
Keep off the grind!
Thanks so much! And thanks for watching from Brazil. Would love to visit one day
I really like that you weigh the risk and don't take unnecessary chances when wheeling solo. A simple problem can go bad very quickly! Stay safe!
I can't get over that first camp, man! Beautiful country out there, thank you for bringing it to us.

Store recommendation.. I love hoodies, get hoodies in your store I would love one.. Don't forget about us big guys !
I really need to get out to that area from my home in Michigan - it’s so gorgeous!

Great stuff man! Can't get enough of the Owyhee videos!
You need to get out there man!

I do rockhounding tours around the succor creek area. I’d love to give you a tour and show you more what’s around you and get your son more rocks 😂
Your cinematography has improved a ton in a short amount of time; keep it up, dude. What drone do you use?
Thanks so much! Always trying to improve! I use a DJI Mavic 3 Pro
Love your videos! Just curious what tailgate reinforcement are you running?
Dude your vid hit hard about ptsd. Both have Broncos and both our sons have the same name. I am an amateur videographer and want to make more videos
Thanks man. I felt it was important and I’m glad it resonated with so many. Just get started man!
Hello! From a loyal subscriber in Michigan. Love the livestream!
Thanks so much! Glad you could make it! Always fun chatting in the premiere
Really enjoyed it.
Love your content. How do you get such great drone footage while you're driving if you're alone?
What maps of the are do you use/recommend. We are going there in a couple weeks
Really like your channel bro. I’m glad I stumbled upon it. Liked and subscribed 6 videos ago.
How many miles are on you Bronco now?
Thanks man! There are 33k miles on it now
Did you go down to the OverlandExpo in Flagstaff this year? I thought I might’ve seen you there
I think you mentioned you lived in the Oregon area. I also live in Oregon and have a RUclips channel. Maybe we could collaborate
I was not at expo west. Just couldn’t make it down. And I live in Washington actually but I love Oregon!
Does your roof rack not squeak in the back?
Been there many times

I need to order some. I have a merch drop happening soon so hopefully I can get those in time

what kind of exhaust are you running ?

89 ? I thought all the 2.7 Bronco have to get 91
To get the full 330 hp but it’ll run on 87 even

Owyhee canyonlands of Oregon!
