Randy, great product and great review. Only issue is maintaining balance climbing and descending the ladder. Is there a post/poll/strut or otherwise similar to the Ford step that a guy over 60 and over 200 lbs could hold onto to maintain balance? Thanks Randy.

I'm not sure if there is an aftermarket support out there to steady a person using the ladder or not. I'm sure a handy person could devise something to get the job done! Thanks for watching!

The main downside is you can't lay boards flat on the tailgate or drag them out. I prefer the Harbor Freight version since it comes out the side and gets you out of the way of traffic coming from behind. But, it's another option for sure.

You are correct but for small loads it isn't a problem. For larger loads I do remove the ladder and with it being only four screws it is a quick and easy process. Thanks for watching!

This tailgate ladder won't interfere with a tonneau cover over the truck bed/rails??

When installed at the correct position on the tailgate and in the folded/stowed position it is well beneath any tonneau cover you may use. I do have a Truxedo roll up cover on my truck and have zero interference. Thanks for watching!

Do you have to drill holes on the plastic of the tailgate I have a Toyota tacoma

It does have to be attached to the tailgate. The ladder comes with four self drilling/tapping screws making the mounting very easy. Thanks for watching!

    does it rattle alot?

    • @rirons0625

I've never noticed any rattling. There is a latch on one side that keeps it folded when not in use, and there are bushings in the mounting brackets that keep it from sliding on its own. Thanks for watching!

The ladder looks goofy and would be in the way of loading everything.
