Are you a real estate, architectural or landscape photographer? If so you need to get yourself a geared head tripod.
I had worked for 15 years without one and when I got one earlier this year I couldn't believe I had not been using one sooner as it has massively helped my workflow while on a shoot to make sure I have straight lines, as I am able to make micro adjustments, unlike a ball head or 3 way head that you tighten.

I've been shooting for nearly 3 decades and only last year I found out about geared tripod heads! Got one straight away and haven't looked back since. Cheers.
Sounds similar to me. I won’t go back now. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the advice. This has been really helpful!
Thanks for watching and I appreciate your feedback.
I got a Benro geared head for macro still life, and like you, I wish I had gotten one sooner. For any kind of slow, deliberate photography (still life, landscape, etc) it is the best type of head. I don't know why they aren't more popular.
I think a lot of people are put off by price like I was, or don’t know about them. Hopefully a few more people might watch this and learn about them. Thanks for watching
I have no affiliation with K&F, but the tripod, backpack & ND/polarising filter I use are all K&F. They're slightly different from the rest of the pack's products and they suit me very well. I recently bought the geared head you show and it's ideal for my purposes. I have yet to use it for landscapes, which is what most photographers use this type for, but for photographing objects with a macro lens, it's perfect.
As an aside, the tripod is rock solid when locked, and the backpack holds a lot of gear in a small space and somehow seems to make what's inside feel less heavy.
I think they're great products.
I agree, K&F make great products at an affordable price. I had a bag from them also which was did me well for a few years.
The geared head has also been a revelation for my work flow on a shoot!
Thanks for watching.
Geared heads for property are awesome
Can only go by what I have experienced , I ordered one and had to send it back the same day. There was so much play in on the left/right axis and this was on a brand new head, what on earth would it be like after a few months of use. Such a shame, not sure what to go for now.
That is a shame, sorry to hear that. I’ve been using mine for about 6 months now, and no problems. I’ve seen some people recommend the Benro GD3WH. It’s a similar price to the K&F one.
Hope you find something that works for you soon!
Thanks for watching and commenting.
Great video, super easy to follow! What was your first tripod when entering the game?
The tripod I had been using for a long time before this set up was the Manfrotto 190 tripod mounted with the Manfrott XPRO-3W 3 way tripod head. It's a good set up, but if you can afford the geared head, I would definately go for that.
Thanks for watching, and for the feedback. Really appreciate it!
Try the Leofoto G4
Great, thanks for the tip. I will give it a look. Really happy with this one for now.
Thanks for watching.
