And it consolidated Nole as one of the best grass players of all time. We need to remember that until 2018 and 2019 or so, Novak was not considered much better than Nadal on grass, who chained those legendary 5 straight finals from 2006 to 2011. And the outcome of this match was decisive. If Nadal had won, he would have tied Djokovic with 3 Wimbledon titles. And he might have ended ranked number 1 that year instead of Nole.

It's crazy to think about how these two playing against each other have one of the greatest matches ever in a tournament, in almost all tournaments: AO2012 final, IW 2011 and Miami 2011 finals, their 2009 madrid semi (was considered the greatest clay court match until RG13), Monte Carlo 2009 final (Not the best, but arguably a top 5. The greatest best-of-3 match at least), regarding Rome they probably have like all the top 5 matches since they've met 9 times and they've won the title 16 times together (Nadal has won 10, Djokovic 6. Both have been in 12 finals each, but different years since 2004. Not one year was the final without Djokovic or Nadal since 2003 which is absolutely ridiculous), RG2013 easily the greatest clay court match of all time, might be a top 5 match ever in tennis, their Wimbledon 2018semi, their USO2011 final (for some reason I feel USO hasn't had as legendary matches as other tournaments. So this match isn't as good as many others, but still one of the greatest in USO. I'd only say Djokovic-Federer semi of 2010/2011 were quite better, a couple others could be argued for), Canada their 2013 semi, and several great matches in the ATP Finals (I dont think their matches there have been outstanding, but I feel the ATP Finals generally lacks classics/legendary matches in general, but it could be because we get saturated of only seeing the best play each other, so there's a guarantee of the highest level of tennis).

This was Rafa's best Wimbledon match ever! Yes even better than 2008 final performance imo. He was serving better, forehand was on song, backhand was powerful and drop shots execution was the best ever! It was just Nole's day!
