Rest In Power & Peace Jim Redmond! 30 years later, and your love and mark is still felt through each new generation that experience this moment for the 1st time! You will be missed, but never forgotten💙
No one remembered who became 1st, 2nd & 3rd but everybody still remembers Derek Redmond.
The Best Olympic Moment in history.
Yeah you are
Derek Redmond said this in the end of the race "I didn't came here to start the race, I came here to finish the race for my country"
How did you know
Yea was there an interview video
It’s not always about winning or losing it’s about Finishing what you started
There was no way that he wasn't going to finish. And there was no way anyone was going to keep his dad off the track.
This is true " substance of a man". Derek's Dad knew how important it was for Derek to fulfil a dream ....tugged at my heartstrings back then....still does, recapping in 2016.......probably will every time I watch this amazing race!
Goddamnit who's cutting onions right now?

Mate!!I could of balled my eyes out...what a show of love..father son😁
That's real Olympic Gold right there!!
He and his fathers were the real winners of this race , I won't let anyone say the contrary, the courage to finish something even when things went south is the real spirit of a champion
What determination!! All time inspirational moment. Can't forget Derek and his father.
I cried so hard!!!
This is my all-time favorite sports moment.
I had 9 years, I hardly realized what was happening. Then my father told me that he recovered from an horrible injury four years before. And that happened again. So I cried for him, I cried with him. One of the best memories I have from the Olympic Games.
This needs to be a movie
I wish I had DAD like that in my life. What winning team ! 😢😢
I cry each time it was so touching!
Cada vez que veo este video, se me salen las lagrimas.
Ya han pasado varias Olimpiadas pero este fue, ha sido y seguira siendo una de las mas recordadas
he lost the competition but he win the day
I cried for this
Touched my heart..teaches a lesson never give up..
"Son, I am not disappoint."

Canada vs The Liberals I think NBC sports has one
Legend bro!
"Levántate y sigue, levántate y llega... simplemente levantate y da el ejemplo"
he was DQ'd at the time for receiving external assistance, which was then later changed to a DNF, despite him finishing.
Gets me right in the feels everytime.
Rip Jim Redmond

I weep every time I see this. Nothing like when DAD'S GOT YOU

It doesn't Matter If you win or lose it Matters to finish the race
#KEEPMOVINGFORWARD #HAVEFAITHINGOD
wow wish I had a parent like that
My dad would have done the same exact thing 😊❤
This is what being a father means to me in a nutshell

👏👏👏👏👏👏
I feel bad for him I watch it at school
*NOOO*
If you're crying then were the same.
he said i'm fail
that is sad
I don't remember who won but I remember who try
i am like derek
The father helped him on the wrong side. It looked like it was his right leg. He probably needed the support on his right side.
With adrenalin and emotion riding high, I doubt very much it mattered at that moment in time. Derek got all the support he needed to finish an amazing race - that being, of his father!
Yeah. He was limping at a pretty good rate. And note that his dad repeatedly pulled his hand away from his face. I mean this is a great sports moment, but I think he could've finished on his own. But possibly with much greater injury, which would make his dad's intervention desired, even if helping the wrong leg. Even if taking over for Derek at things that could lead to worse harm, as far as dad knew how best to aid....which may have not been much
Again though this was just a great moment.
iam
interesting
It is a great illustration that there is a Heavenly Father who came down to save us too. His name is Jesus Christ.
Sii es verdad
Samon biles this is how not to quit you should watch this and learn a lesson
He probably would have been disqualified anyway ! He jumped the gun ! 😭😭😭😭
His dad's making the most out of his son's Nike sponsorship deal isn't he 😂👍
guess what! this champ was disqualified as to be considered to have finished the race with the help of someone -his dad-
Yes. He probably still hates his Dad to this day for ruining his Olympic moment.
just do it, nike win
25 people lack a soul.
What if it was all a staged Nike ad?
Yes. What a shameless promotion of Nike products.
I'm sure he trained for years for that one moment in the Olympics just as an ad for Nike. He was there to represent his country to win the gold, but God made him something much more.
I hope it was a staged Nike ad because if it wasn't, his father got him disqualified for assisting him across the line.
he also try in 1988 ,that time he promise his father "i will finish the race in 1992 Olympic"
Imagine if all this was an excuse as he couldn't compete with the other runners and faked an injury lol
Imagine how much your life would improve if you had a functioning brain.
