Well due to inflation production cost and the cost to import Into the country that won’t ever happen. In fact in honk Kong they actually are around that price point
The facts are that they actually cost a little over 100 to produce. The extra 150 they charge is just for the brand.
@@thrasher2753 well if it cost over a 100 to produce and they charge 125 what is the point of making high end collectibles if your profit is only 25 bucks? Not saying they should charge in art level arm and leg but I am saying barely charging over the production cost does a company no good
I always order from Japan where I can. I've found a few reliable sellers, and like you say they always seem that little bit cheaper. Plus when figures are released, companies tend to stock the far eastern sellers months before the anyone here in the uk

The new X-Men '97 animated series is coming to Disney+ early next year so I can see Hot Toys making a push for these figures.

I actually really love this approach, if you can't completely own the premium market anymore why not make the best cheaper figures!? And with an animated collection that doesn't require actor licence rights!? Perfect move!

Don't expect the rest of this line to be this affordable. This is what I would call a "Hook" release.
I don't disagree, but if a "Hook" release is the plan, Wolverine should have been saved for the $250 price jump given his overwhelming popularity.

If they did silhouettes for upcoming figures, it would've made me lose it 😂. If they announce Rogue, I'm all in. But at $160 I can't look away.
This is a huge win for existing collectors and potential collectors. I know someone who thinks Hot Toys are really cool but he collects Marvel Legends because of the cost. This makes it easier for people to try collecting 1/6 figures. It's priced perfectly and surprisingly looks incredible.
With X-men 97 coming January 4, 2024 I hope we get a new mutant/x-men announcement each month. I need the whole team and others like Magneto.
I got an e-mail about this yesterday, the price point is £131.66 that combined with the comic book style costume, this is definitely worth a look!

Love the classic animated Wolverine and this looks amazing. My only minor gripe are the claws. It’s probably just me but they look just a tad too long, not by much but enough for me do a double take. Overall though, this looks brilliant, and an easy preorder!
Think they saw how third party companies and mondo are all making bank off x men. So hot toys is taking a nice chunk out of their market now. Hono studio is a game changer!
Xmen is has so many good characters and depth. In many eyes way cooler than the Star Wars train. So this is huge …… and is what the fans wants. Movies will follow !

This was an instant pre-order the price point had me salivating LOL only so-so toys has came with high quality figures around this price point I really hope this continues this Wolverine looks amazing
I collect a bit of everything and I can say they’re beating mondo on the price. Orko was $235 for a 6.7 inch. I know that mondo figures are more sturdy and have a weight of a diecast hot toys but is freaking hot toys for freaking $160.00 that’s a dream come true. I hope they do justice league, avengers even spawn .

Looks incredible especially for the price.. I just hope they make a full line and not just a handful. Comic black suit spidy and brown n yellow classic wolverine would be grabs for me

What makes you say sideshow figures are crap? Just curious…I’m new to collecting but they seem to have good reviews on their site. Obviously an arm breaking on a live stream is no bueno…I’ve got their pennywise preordered

The surge of X-Men related figures might be related to Deadpool 3 having Hugh Jackman's final appearance as Wolverine? I wouldn't doubt if other X-Men cameo in it as well. Oh, and they're reviving the X-Men animated series from the 90's.

Best decision HT could make given the changes occurring in the hobby.
They can no longer claim to make the best mass produced 1/6 figures on the market, but they can now offer the best relative quality compared to cost!
I think it would be smart on their part to turn continue this line going into next year with Deadpool coming around the corner
The proof will have to be in the pudding. Either this price point will demand a lot of cost cutting, or else other comparable figures are way overpriced. So based on a prototype and promotional images, I'd wait to see if this kicks anything in the nuts
I feel like we all know deep down that Hot Toys figures are overpriced. This release kind of proves that. Just looking at it I don’t see where they’ve cheeped out. The only thing that might make it less is the lack of an actor likeness.
Collection tour
Not a fan of the glitter look on the trunks and gloves. The facesculpts are better than the Sideshow classic tiger stripe but the face sculpt on the Sideshow Brown suit is better than all of these in my opinion. I just used that head on my tiger stripe version and it looks awesome. The body on this obviously looks better though. Great price too. Curious what the Present Toys Wolverine will look like.

I want Colossus and Juggernaut next!! I just wish they need to change that bref because it looks like a thong wolverine doesn't wear blue thong in comics.
I think maybe with the forthcoming release of the animated X-men series this is the first of a release of figures from that line.
They’re gonna double dip and do one that’s stylised for the show
no doubt the coming animated X-Men series reboot is prompting this new X-men resurgence of production. This guy looks great and we'll see if they can stick with this production date.
I will wait for Hugh Jackman Wolverine. Maybe I'll grab some other "budget" figures.

Not feeling 😕 it...if im gonna collect 1/6. I want movie base characters with great likenesses...i perfer a decent detail movie likeness of the actors portraying the characters from the movies i ❤️ love.... i perfer a jack Nicholson, a micheal Keaton, a tom cruise, a clint eastwood, a Harrison ford, a mark Hamill a Christopher reeve etc....a lynda carter wonder woman would really be nice😊 i had a few sideshow comic characters so if i get comic book based characters i perfer them in 1/12 6inch scale...ill go to mafex or sh figuarts for comic book base characters only...the only exception for me is the newly announced batman and superman tas 1/6 figures which are a must have for me.😊

Hot toys can have a cheap price for people like us but the other items with the other companies will sale out as well. They have a different market that they cater to so they will win just like Hot Toys. We all lose because we funnel our money to pay for over priced items. Whether it’s $160 to $1700.

Never was a fan of the outfit they chose. Underwear outside the pants...meh imo. Otherwise this is a GREAT offering. Looking forward to other releases in the line. Colossus, Nightcrawler, maybe an Angel, Beast, Prof X, a Rogue that maybe better then SooSoo's. If so (I've met my "so" count for this post) I will be buying.
Funny thing is this is around $30 more then a Mezco Wolveine.

I don't like how the underwear looks. already have the Sideshow Wolverine want to see what character they release next.
Remember a company name Mondo the first He-Man cost $160 and the next one $200 and now $235.
That's a damn good point. However the human that you were talking about was the ultimate version which came essentially with three versions of He-Man the power punch the battle armor and the standard they had redid the head and it is really overall a much better figure. But you are right they jumped from 160 up to 260 plus it was also a time to figure and now in the aftermarket it's going for close to $500. But such is collecting. In my opinion Hot Toys kill themselves by going with all of these licensed figures based on movies and having to be slaves to the actors likenesses. This is why companies like toys era and social toys have been killing them. Rest assured hot toys will screw this up by making him stand 12 in tall instead of making him the right size that Wolverine would be which would be seven and a half inches

He’s a bit too tall, figure should be at least 10 inches. Better size compared to a taller Colossus.
Entry grade seems to mean less accessories and less material like pleather? Notice his belt is solid plastic, any other Hottoy figure would have likely come with a pleather belt. Single jointed seemless arms, Cartoon or comic inspired headsculpt so less work has to go into the face details, paint apps on the face don't have to be as detailed either. I can get behind a collection like this. Especially with them teasing the silhouettes of Thor and Magneto.
Hot Toys has seen itself surpassed in everything by third parties in my opinion... and it's tired with these recyclings of Iron Man and Star Wars

I only collect Marvel but I don't know if I will get this Wolverine....the quality of hot toys is not among the best lately (apart from Moon Knight)
Too over priced for me maybe disney will go back to making decent movies but hot toys really needs an alternative or they're going down with the ship
If hot toys is remotely involved you can be assured of two things :
1) it will not be worth whatever they are charging for it due to lack of accessories or overall quality
2) it will take 2.5 years to come out if they actually bring it out..
Add to that the will screw something sime up (like make him 12" tall) and it will be low quality..
Hot toys is garbage anymore..
I can do WITHOUT the Underwear on the outside, otherwise it looks good.

This will go great with Iron Man and the new comic Spider-Man! At this price I’ll take as many as I can get, especially with my Star Wars display being mostly complete 😄🤌
When I bought my first Iron Man figure from Hot Toys it was in the year 2008 from a store here in Texas called Hastings Book Store.
I remember back then, going into the store every day after work and looking at it until I finally pulled the trigger on it, thinking back then that $160 was a lil crazy for a figure. lol But ultimately, that was the bug that bit me because right after that, I bought the original jungle hunter predator and the rest was history.
On a sidenote, I still own all of my original, Hot toys figures because of the special place they all hold in my heart.🫡💯💪🏾
